  1. Hello everyone! I am new member looking for some help. I am looking to purchase my first rep and wanting some assistants finding the right watch and the right dealer. This is my first replica but not my first rolex, my yachtmaster was stolen this Christmas when our house was broken into when my family and I was out of town for Christmas. Thank god our home owners insurance is going to cover our misfortune. But I figured instead of buying another 17 thousand dollar watch I might go and buy my wife a new car, you know the saying happy wife happy life I have a few watches I have picked out but need some help making a informative decision. I like rose gold and like a little bling, I know don't hold it against me;) I'm in the car business and it reflects my personality so go easy on me. First is the rose gold diamond strap Hublot Big Bang from a site called hublotf1 but don't really know much about this seller. The second is the rose gold Rolex Day-Date with the diamond strap and bezel with the black mop dial. I love this watch! The dealer is a site called timeshop dot net which is a trusted seller on some forums but I wonder about the quality. Last is the diamond two tone gmt master and the two tone submariner. I like the fact that I just learned that there are a lot of mods you can do to these watches which sounds pretty cool just not sure which seller has the best quality watch. There is just a lot to take in and though I have done my home work I feel I need the help from a more knowledgable member to assist me. From( gold rapped, gold plated, movement, mods, dealers to the watches them selves) I'm just not sure where to start. Any help info or input will be appreciated remember I am a noob. Thanks and God bless
  2. Hey all, Thought I'd put some feelers out here to gauge interest on which vintage rollie dials are in demand. I'm a graphic designer by day and am considering trying my hand at replicating (to a high degree) several vintage dials. What are some dials you guys would like to see/need to improve?
  3. Hi guys, I just recieved my new superlummed sea dweller and already had a gen insert to go with it, so i removed the pearl with an exacto knife to remove the rep insert wich was glued on to the bezel. When i compared them they seem identical in size, but when i tried to put it on... SURPRISE... the gen insert did not fit so i had to put back the rep insert wich did not needed to be glued again, it snapped right in perfectly. Any ideas on what mods to do so i can get it to fit? Thanks in advice
  4. As some of you may know I have always been a fan of lugholes and have had an ongoing Submariner project for awhile now. It's based on an ST case and after several movement incarnations and some drastic case reworking I wound up here: Bezel, insert and crown are genuine, dial and hands are TC and it's powered by a high-grade 2824 movement I found on ebay. I love this watch imensly but it's just not there yet... And so, having to order some parts for some watch repairs I'm long overdue on, I found myself ordering the ST 3035 (16800) case earlier this evening. I'm not sure yet what the endgame will be but it be nice to have the two cases side-by-side for a comparison. I already have a super-franken 16610 anyway, I think it's time to get a little vintage! I'll update this thread as parts start to arrive and the build goes together. Thanks for looking! ~Brendan
  5. Just a nice video part 1 and 2 for those who are interested in seeing a Rolex movement taken apart! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6xn4TSULVd8 http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=relmfu&v=PCE0NwtLEV8 Enjoy
  6. As I promised I shoot some photos. Omega Seamaster 2054.50 VS Rolex Submariner 14060M COSC. Be patient as I prepare this set... In the mean while check this one, just for teasing...

  8. Hello everyone, I'm new to the game here, but I am very interested in purchasing a rep Rolex. I've looked at a lot of sites and site reviews and I came across RWG. I've checked out a couple of TD's listed on this site, (Trusty Time,) and ( Perfect Clones ). I was just looking for feedback on this model rolex to see if any one here has purchased one or a similar model from either of these two TD's. Also, what is the difference when they list a watch that says, "higher quality parts and construction..." Does that mean higher quality parts and construction than the original version, or is that higher quality parts and construction than their other models that they make? Thanks for any response.
  9. Dear fellow Rolex lovers, Just bought a Sub 16610 LN and am ready to make my move for a gen insert and dial. I have recieved an offer at 850$ for both the insert and dial. What do you think ? Good deal ? Fair ? Too expensive ? I already have gen tube, gen crown, clark cyclop. Anything else I should buy before to send everything to Domi? Hands ? DW ? Thanks for your reply. Fran Fran.
  10. I never owned a gen or a rep YM, so I'm not familiar with that particular model.... Is this new version good enough to be considered a good base to push it to a super rep level? Thanks for your insight !!! See it on : http://www.puretime.co/product/yacht-master-16622-sa3135-best-edition-v2/
  11. Hey there knowledgable friends, I am trying to repair one of my favourite watches, my Deep Sea Sea Dweller. The movement is going to be repaired and serviced but now I want to fix the dial issue once and for all. What is the dial issue you ask? I'll tell you! The dial is missing both feet and was simply glued to the movement, when I get the fresh movement back I would like to avoid glueing the dial back on to the movement and for that I need a new dial. What is my best course of action to get a high quality rep dial for this watch? can I go through a TD or is there a better source for replica parts? Any help at all is, as always, greatly appreciated. Mike

    5513

I have a 5513 Sub that, for some reason, stops and starts rather erratically. I know this question probably would have been better in a different section, but I figured I'd ask it here because this seems to be the section with the most "franken" builders. This 5513 seems to be fully wound, and will run for like 5 seconds and then stop. Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong with it, or who could fix it for me? Thanks in advance!
  13. David will soon have new aftermarket dials for all Daytona models... If you want to pre-order : just PM David directly.
  14. I received a GMT Master II Asian Clone ETA 2836 from Marvellous Replica a couple of months ago and am very pleased with it. It ran about 15 seconds fast at first, but I bought the Kello app and was able to regulate it so it's about +5 sec/day. The bracelet was not very smooth at first, but I soaked it in WD40 and that made a noticeable improvement. The bezel has a little slack to it, but it's not bad--only about 1/2 minute counter clockwise. Also, the lack of AR on the cyclops makes the date a little hard for me to read sometimes. The flaw on this particular watch is the lume on the minute hand. The factory put a blue hand instead of a green one. My plan is to have the entire watch re-lumed some day. Luckily, out of site, out of mind so I don't notice it most of the time. A lume shot was not one of my requests during the QC process--but this is my first rep and I've learned--and am still learning!
  15. Hey, I was hoping for some advice regarding buying a replica full gold yachtmaster with swiss eta. I just want to know wether its worth it or not concerning the general quality of gold plating in gens or if I should just play it safe and go with a 2-tone? Thanks

  17. Hi! I ordered a watch from dhjason007.com the 3rd october. On the site, it says "pending" for 5 days now. Does anyone have experience from this seller? I contacted him to ask about the shipping, he replied 2 times under 1 hour, but since then, he hasent replied for 2 days. "hi friend please tell me the order number,i will check for you. thanks jason" and then he wrote: "can you tell me your dhgate name?" I told him my name on dhjason007.com, but he still hasent replied. anyone know something about him?!
  18. Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and after browsing around for a few days I've decided I'd like to purchase a Rolex Rep. At the moment my preference goes to the Rolex Explorer II 42mm with white dial and Swiss ETA 2836-2 movement on Josh's site. Does anyone know if this is in 316L of 316F SS? Does anyone have any good/bad experiences with this watch in particular or other Rolex reps from his site? What is best to look for in the QC pictures? And since I live in Belgium: what are the chances of receiving it with and without the "shipping from EU' option? Sorry for the mountain of questions but I'd like to be sure I will be happy with my purchase. Thanks in advance!
  19. I'll start by saying this, I am not very good at documenting my work but pictures are en route, I also made some Newb mistakes during the dissassembly that I may need help fixing.... alright disclaimers notwithstanding.... I performed my very first keyless works repair last night! This whole issue came about after I got frustrated with a crooked crystal on my DSSD, it has been like this from the time it arrived, over a year ago. I had attempted to press the crystal in, with no luck, in the past but had never taken a watch apart and certainly didn't try that a year ago with I got this watch. This time, I started tapping the crystal (dumb, I know) and in the process I caused the second hand to pop off, the dial to come loose, and the crystal to stay right where it was when I started At this point I knew I had to take the watch apart to replace the second hand and I would just pop the crystal out and re-install it into the watch. (I also had no idea that the dial was loose on the movement at this time). I managed to get the Crystal installed in the case, nice and straight, and simply pop the second hand back on, no problems and I was good to go.... threw the watch on my wrist and took the dog for a walk, and that's when I saw the dial turning freely around inside the case When I got home I took the watch off and opened it up, pulled the movement out and glued the dial to the movement ring (not sure what this part is called but it had come unglued from the ring that connects the dial to the movement. I popped the watch back together only to immediately notice a spec of dust on the dial, and I went back in...... that's when my luck ran out and I finally gummed up the keyless works. It was now 20:00 and I was getting tired, but that didn't stop me. Tonight, between finishing my assembly and taking the dog for another walk, I will update this post with terribly documented repair pictures that show very little detail and will never help anyone, but like I said, I'm no good at documenting anything. Until then, I hope everyone is having a good.....time Mike
  20. i am a proud owner of some gen. patek, rolex and audemars watches and have always marveled at the engineering, art and craftsmanship that goes into each watch. which brings me to my point: i have always viewed people who buy replicas differently, you could almost say i looked down on them: for they were plebeians trying to be or portray something they were not. by mistake i found this site and after reading some through some forums I've come to the realization that the people here are true horological aficionados...and i feel more at home here than with other owners of genuine watches. it is quite perplexing because most of the people i know who have a real audemars, rolex, patek or vacheron ect. but really aren't the least bit interested in the history of the company, let alone the how the thing works; they seem to be more interested in the status it brings them. that brings me to my next point, i was so impressed by the sheer knowledge of the people here. for example i never though in a million years a person who buys a fake rolex would know the difference between a rolex caliber 3185 vs 3186 let alone building a watch using replica and genuine parts. and that is just fascinating to me, so much so that today i have decided to buy a replica watch and become part of the replica community.
  21. This morning I took the descision to part with my 116520, and once again that bloody watch bewitched me !!! While I was taking my photos to make the sales post, there it goes : I fall in love again when I thought I was finally over that one.... Well, even if there are some small flaws we all know about, the strong points of those very early reps are so STRONG that you can only forgive and forget the tiny mistakes the maker has done. I for one never had issues with the sec at 6 movement in 4 years, so I can only assume there was some good series and some bad ones. I picked that piece directly in GZ, and I am still amazed by the quality when I look at it today !!! It's really something they were able to make such a great and sharp replica with such a small price tag. Enjoy the pics !!!!
  22. Dear all, before I start I want to thank this really nice community! I already bought some nice pieces here from some members and met some really friendly people - Also from Germany or Netherlands. Lots of support here!! I did not know that the scene would be so big in Germany too. Sorry to copy and paste that from my other two threads. But I am really impressed here! So this time no work log. I just want to show you my daily watch I bought from "dutchguy2" and of course I would love to read your feedback and I have one question. Specs: SSD V2 GEN crown CGs trimmed by Jackjo Bezel insert shaved by Jackjo Watchmaterial pearl installed by Jackjo Caseback and crown seal lubed by Jackjo Bracelet Lubed and buffed by Jackjo Relumed with Tritec C1 super luminova Movement serviced and regulated to +2 seconds a day First questions: What else should I change to GEN? I think this is already close to perfect. Might only consider a GEN insert with pearl. What do you say? The bracelet does not look as good compared to a GEN watch. What is closer to GEN? This? Any other ideas? I do not like the space between the links. Depending on the year of the watch I do not need to drill holes for the drill lug holes, right? So what are your thoughts? Any other ideas or hints or feedback? Thanks!!
  23. Since I made earlier today a sales post to offer a good copy of the 16600 I had, I also took the opportunity to make an other photoshoot to share my 1675 with the community. So here is my third post about vintage Rollies... I'm really getting to like that !!! This one is also an icon, less popular than the 5513, but a good third row after the queen Daytonas and the Submariner family. It has more character with its colored bezel, and I think that is why some people don't fully appreciate it when compared to the sobriety of the all black Submariners. Enjoy the pictures and don't hesitate to comment !!! By the way, for all three watches I'd love to show the movements since they are all very clean, but my watchmaker shuts the backs so tight that I'm always scared to damage the backcase by trying to open them by myself.
  24. First I would like to thank the members who sent me so many nice PM's about my 5500 post in this forum. I had PMs asking me details about the 5513 pictured in that post, so I figured I should make a new post to share some pictures of that watch. I think the Submariner is a fascinating watch design wise: it had nothing to be a collectible, and yet it became one of those watches most afficionados have to own. Why? It isn't rare, it came out as a rather cheap tool watch, it has a very commun movement that can be found in the less desirable models Rolex has made.... But it's been fourty years we all love it !!! That crave most of us have for this particular model makes it an icon. I hope my pictures will please you as much as the pictures of the Explorer I. Cheers !!!
