jdwango Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Apologies if this topic is beaten to death, but I would like to revive this discussion every few months as I'm sure there are new reps being released and old reps being upgraded. With respects to scoring the reps, I propose a scoring system like this: Visual Accuracy: (0-10 Scale) + Description of defects Functional Accuracy: (0 - 10 Scale) + Description of defects Emotional + Value Quotient (How does it feel?, Is it good value?): (0 - 5 Scale) Total Score: X/25 Let me know your thoughts, also would love to hear your views on the best reps!
maxman Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 These are difficult questions to answer. So I will just tell you what my favorite reps are. My breitling SA blue dial and Raymond Weil Nabucco. I have many nice reps but these two are very accurate and are of very good quality.
TeeJay Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 The best rep is the one which you like the most. The one which suits your needs the best. The one which has 'flaws' which you can accept as part of The Watch, and which give character, rather than detract.
mastrmindalliance Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the best (cartel - so excluding wm9) reps OOB are the SOHV2 and the Ploprof Ult. They are the most accurate to gen reps I own, more so, IMHO, than the UPO.
TeeJay Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Good answer, Teejay! I think it's the only thing to say for questions like this, as I've seen that one person's ultimate grail, is another's nightmare of a watch
jmb Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 T, when are you running for public office?
plaifender Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 hmm.. don't think this post will go anywhere. There is no "best" rep as far as i'm concerned too many excellent ones out there for one to be considered as "best"
btocamelo Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 The best REP is a GEN but seriously....I would have to say a WM9 BK YM is very close
maxman Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 T, when are you running for public office? Teejay for president bitchazzzzzzzz
P4GTR Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Teejay closed this thread down with his response IMO, nothing left to say.
Nanuq Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 "Best Rep"? Simple... your next rep.
pizzanooo Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Exactly, just got in the latest Plop version.... Maximus Ripyourlips this is one nice rep.
TeeJay Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 T, when are you running for public office? I wish I had the green to finance the campaign That said, diplomat has always been a career recommended for Libras

Raijor Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 (edited) Whos this cartel I hear about? Where can i get them...mussssttt finddd... Become a financial supporter of the forum and all secrets will be revealed Seriously, if people want to plumb the depths of knowledge here a contribution of some kind is proper and ensures that this forum will grow and remain viable. Financial contribution are not the only kind to consider, some members contribute by actively posting to share their knowledge and keep the forum active. Perhaps you will become a regular contributor to our little watch place. So to give you a start ... the cartel is made up of a few rep sellers who have a friendly relationship with each other. They have available to themselves certain reps that they sell to ready with cash buyers. Certain reps have become legendary, one of which is the noob. Personally, I subscribe to the WM9 line of Subs and the YM as being the best out of the box. I have made a few Franken Datejusts that could pass for gen. So to answer who has the best ... it always is a matter of personal opinion. Cheers edit for Spelling error corrections Edited September 14, 2010 by Raijor
Stephane Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 I am with TJ and Nanuq. Currently my best is a Sub Ceramic from the NoobFactory Not sure how long that will last
dluddy Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 The one that is incoming is always the best one
maxman Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 The one that is incoming is always the best one True dat
jdwango Posted September 14, 2010 Author Report Posted September 14, 2010 What about the PP Nautilus. From pictures, it is indistinguishable from the original. Baring the date wheel of course. Is there a mod of this? With regards to BK YM - Are you able to walk into a Rolex Store and not get any second looks with it?
kingkaiser Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 The first rule of rep club is : you do not walk into a dealer with a rep. The second rule of rep club is : .....you get the idea, no matter how good your rep, do not go into an AD with it on. A lot of members here are not fans, and for good reason.

Is there a mod of this? With regards to BK YM - Are you able to walk into a Rolex Store and not get any second looks with it? Although It Is considerd "bad form" to go into a AD or fine jewlery store wearing a rep, well to answer your question,no, probably not. I know of no fix for the sdw.
Toadtorrent Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 I was going to say the one on Freddy's wrist... As others have said...so many factors given your criteria for calculation. Most accurate? Out of the box, or after HEAVY modding with gen parts?Functionally? Easily, any without any complications, and no date...For personal style reasons???? We have people here who liked blinged out Rollies, Gaytonas, 80's thin Concords, and everything in between...big ones, small ones, ugly ones...you name it.
