Lobster Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 I know there must have been several threads like this before, but I love seeing watch pics If you had all the money in the world etc etc... what watches would you get? I am a sporty watch guy but there are two dressy watches that I would love to own. The Pano Inverse from Glashutte is absolutely special. I tried the gen on in an AD in Frankfurt and just felt so sad that I couldn't take it home But the ultimate watch I would want to own is the L&S Zeitwork
wiesn089 Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 Probably a Milsub with excellent provenance:
tomhorn Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 Lange 1 VC Patrimony Chrono Maurice Lacroix Double Retrograde Schauer Edition 12
freddy333 Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 My ultimate grail & the only watch that has (so far) eluded my franken-built clutches is the Lange 1, in precisely the form that tomhorn posted above. 2nd after the Lange are the ultimate Rolex collectibles - the SS 6062 Moonphase (preferably with dauphine hands & star indexes) or 4113 Chronographe Rattrapante (Split Seconds Chronograph)
redwatch Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 For right now.... The Breitling Spatiographe Silver Dial:
Bike Mike Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 This one....or any RM piece really. Of course now that I think about it, if I had all the money is the World, I would have some thing built for me...a nice one off piece.
lhooq Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 My only Grail is a CK2915 Speedmaster:
jeff g Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Grail watches are truly in the eye of the beholder. Many of those folks coveting that perfect watch are Rolli folks, then many of the people are Panerai guys. True grail pieces are many of the many great swiss classics. For me there are really only a few. AP RO , and the PP Nautilus come to mind. But of course that is just me. Grail? What ever floats your boat I guess.
subbiesrock Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 My ultimate grail & the only watch that has (so far) eluded my franken-built clutches is the Lange 1, in precisely the form that tomhorn posted above. 2nd after the 1 is the ultimate Rolex collectible - the SS 6062 Moonphase (preferably with dauphine hands) Is this based on aN ETA 7751 movt?
drolson Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Glashütte Original Senator Chronometer
lhooq Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Is this based on aN ETA 7751 movt? The Moonphase predates the 7750 by about 20-30 years.
seafoam Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) I'm along the same lines with ongck77 at the moment at least: free image hosting image upload Edited February 13, 2011 by seafoam
freddy333 Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Is this based on aN ETA 7751 movt? 9 3/4" 'bubbleback' movement. Rolex does not use ETA movements in their Rolex branded watches.
TeeJay Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Mine are: Rolex 6200 (the watch which I believe Fleming was refering to in On Her Majesty's Secret Service) Closely followed by the Tudor 9401: And the Tudor 7032:
JoJo35 Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Only one choice: the Patek Phillipe Supercomplication
praetor Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 (edited) A rolex 6239 double swiss underline or this one...Pure beauty simplicity &My sig: a patek 130 in this specific dial & hands configuration. cornerstone Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 No budget grail watch... This gen will be making its way into the watch box...
kronos twin Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 A Zenith Academy will always be on my list. Always. And then the Hybris mechanica by JLC would have to be on this list. Indiana Jones would be proud to crusade for these.
StormTooper4 Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 The Luminor 1950 Equation of Time Tourbillon Titanio
