rolojack Posted July 4, 2017 Report Posted July 4, 2017 A lot of pictures here to share two recent builds featuring two excellent Vietnam made dials. The quality of these dials is getting better ever month !!! Look at the shape of the subdials on the big red. And the crisp print on the PN. Both watches are cartel based, with all reshaped cases, Vietnam inserts and genuine service T21 crystals. What you can get for less than the price of a used V72 alone !!! I sincerely doubt you can get any closer to gen on such a budget. 2

Champagnesky Posted July 4, 2017 Report Posted July 4, 2017 Gorgeous, is it custom engraving or do the cartel cases come with that nowardays?

Gosh, the day cartel will do engravings like that chicken will grow teeth... No. I refinished the mid lugs as cartel stock shape is concave and awfull, then Joe did the engravings. After his works, I rebrush the mid lugs with a tool of mine to achieve that very genuine like look. 1
sputim Posted July 4, 2017 Report Posted July 4, 2017 Wow fantastic work mate. You must put hours into the casework to achieve such a great result! But well worth it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

d4v3 Posted July 4, 2017 Report Posted July 4, 2017 amazing work rolo, yeah noticed some really really nice viet dials lately even very cool lume dots vintage. Your work its absolutely stunning rolo, i wish there were more sub hands options, the only slim ones avaliable are those alpha homage but you gotta buy the whole piece, keep up the great job rolo, pictures are fantastic!
dpap Posted July 4, 2017 Report Posted July 4, 2017 Actually you can buy the hands separately from alpha. I will try to find an ebay link 2

automatico Posted July 4, 2017 Report Posted July 4, 2017 "What you can get for less than the price of a used V72 alone !!! I sincerely doubt you can get any closer to gen on such a budget." I agree. Imho this is what a first class Daytona project should be. No high priced 'designer' case, no revamped, high $$ V72. Never was a fan of the V72, owned quite a few in the past but they were relatively cheap at the time. Had some trouble with them but parts were also cheap. Then V72 parts ran out and eBay happened along with the current vintage chronograph feeding frenzy and prices went crazy.
