And here's some others that are attractive: 1) Oris TT1 Master Diver (titanium) 2) Oris TT1 Titan 1000M 3) Luminox Navy Seal Blue 4) Hublot Super-B Diver 5) AngularMomentum Illum/V (actually a GMT) 6) Invicta Lupah Diver (less expensive end of the spectrum) 7) Leonard Swiss (not a diver, but cool dome profile) Since I haven't owned any of these watches, would be interested to hear from anyone who has, and what their thoughts were... good or bad. {END} Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

PAM, Sub, Seamaster are all produced for the wrist of the rich and will never see the bottom of the sea. I know I'll never got 12000' below the water, I rarely hit 120'. I didn't see a model number or anything, so I can't find a price, but I'll keep looking. cornerstone Posted July 19, 2006 Report Share Posted July 19, 2006 (edited) Speaking of deep dives and tool watches, I have a friend who was a commercial diver for 20 years and taught diving. He wore a 1665 Sea-dweller for all that work, and said his deepest ever was 1,800 feet. Right to the limit of what a 1665 is rated for. He said he's seen a domed plexi crystal crush under too much pressure at depth and it's a spectacular thing. A micro-explosion, or more correctly, implosion. CRACK and it's all over. At that depth he was in an Atmospheric Diving Suit though, right? Would his watch even need to be rated to paddling pool depth? There are a few fugly watches I'm sure we'd all like to receive the full micro-implosion experience! My problem with expensive watches and diving is simply the expense. If it gets bashed or it falls off underwater (my tank fell off once without me noticing - I just looked around and assumed that my dive buddy was epileptic), it's really expensive. And everyone is using their dive computer for essential tasks these days anyway. That said, I know some folk do wear expensive watches for scuba diving - it's just a bit risky for my tastes.
