  1. Okay, this quit being about the stated topic long ago. It's now devolved into a flame war, so it's done.

  2. Stop it Joey, you are making yourself seem really unpleasant and immature

  3. Joey, I am in no way interested in what you have to say and will leave it at that. Guys "don't feed the troll" he is irrelevant to the matter at hand .

  4. Joey, here is something you did miss (before you got a twist in your panties over the word 'idiot'). Something GBOGH pointed out already... A person who posts pictures of replica watches on Facebook with the implication that they are genuine, or post pictures of replicas on Facebook to sell them as genuine, or post pictures of replicas on Facebook to attract business customers - along with a comment like: 'Do you have a high end watch that doesn't run or want to sell email me. I specialize in high end repair and restoration of vintage watches. Rolex, Breitling,Omega ect.' Is either a ) a scammer and fraud or b ) a phony I don't think our community needs either and as far as I'm aware this is a violation of these rules (genuine time piece forum or Facebook - talking about attention, the result is the same) you hold so highly. [26] - NO replica pictures should be posted on the genuine time piece forums by the members of RWG. A violation of this rule will get you permanently banned. Our little underground hobby does not need this kind of attention. So instead of getting on everyones nerves by arguing over stupid nonsense, you should be aware who is really breaking this boards rules and what should happen, once all watches have been returned - repaired. That's some facts from an unbiased member of this community.

  5. Saw this fantastic thread over on the other RwG and asked semaj if he minded me posting it here too, it's a great place to read up on the current 'Super Reps' that are available, enjoy Ok, let me start off buy demystifying the term “super-rep” because it’s banded about on the forums waaaaaay too much. The only way IMO it should be used is to describe a rep that is 99% 1:1, no rep IS 1:1 or they’d just be gens. This is instead, more of a list of “super good looking and quite close to gen” list. This list is the cream of the crop, the best of the best in terms of accuracy and also as a direct result, popularity. I don't want members, especially new members, thinking this is a list of all 1:1 watches, no, instead this is a list to help guid you to the cream of the crop but always remember that a rep watch will always have its flaws. I have used MemberX’s original list as a base point and built on it. I have included the majority of his original choices, especially those which I’m not familiar with such as Concord etc I have NOT included modders builds such as RA/Phong. I have only included those who only specialise in one brand, BK/TC/Concepta etc the watches listed are for the most part “out of the box” Movements; Asian 2836 or swiss, unless the case back is see-through you get the same thing. All watches advised would contain either swiss or asian clone movements unless specified otherwise Cases: I have included a few watches with gold/white gold/platinum cases in the gen. Obviously, the weight of the rep and gen will not be the same so keep this in mind. I don’t profess to know this stuff as well as some other members, this is just based on my 2 years collection and reading online. If you have something to add or think something shouldn’t be there, shoot me a PM and I can update the thread. NB some are better than others in terms of closeness to gen, however all are recognized as being very, very good and close to gen. Small differences from later versions may improve the overall 1:1 propensity of the watch but the earlier version, if applicable, should still be considered very good and accurate. Small differences to the gens such as the placement being off by a few millimeters of the “Swiss made” mark etc are inconsequential. please note: Those marked *under review* are on the cusp of being removed from the list due to popular consensus that they may may not/should not be classified with the rest of the watches listed. This is a peer reviewed list and majority rules. The more people we have here giving input the better the list will be and more accurate. The "list" Audemars Piguet (AP): All the AP chronographs advised have seconds at “12” unless specified otherwise AP ROO Diver V3-3.5 AP Montauk v2 & v1 AP Safari (updated version with silver outlined numerals and rounded pushers) AP Rose Gold Rubber Clad (updated version with gold outlined numerals and rounded pushers) AP Stainless Steel Rubber Clad (Updated version w/ rounded pushers) AP silver theme (Updated version w/ rounded pushers) AP chronopassion (Updated version w/ rounded pushers) AP White themes (Updated version w/ rounded pushers) AP grey themes (Updated version w/ rounded pushers) AP black themes ((Updated version w/ rounded pushers) AP Rose Gold Don Ramon de la Cruz (Updated version w/ rounded pushers) AP Royal Oak Jumbo (current new version) *under review* Breitling: Seawolf v2 all colours Super Ocean Steel Fish (SOSF) v2 Super Ocean Heritage non-chrono v2 Skyland Avenger chrono v4 Super Ocean Abyss 44mm Super Ocean Abyss 42mm Super Avenger chronographs v4 Cartier: Santos 100 ultimate chronograph and chronometer Ebel: 1911 discovery chronograph white panda & black Rolex: Anything from TC and BK Rolex explorer II – N factory Ceramic sub –BP factory Sea Dweller - BP factory Ultimate DSSD Ultimate “Super” sea-dweller (SSD) Day-date 2 – N factory Date-just 2 – N factory Current versions of explorer 1 both 36 and 39mm MBW/MW9/MBK sub Panerai Too many to list, see below link for an in-depth model analysis done by Ale on RWI http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/reference-pam-review-107365.html?t=107365 Chopard Chopard Mille Miglia GTXL Chrono – grey IWC Ingy Laureus (blue) N-factory Portofino Ultimate Version (all colours) Mark XVII v2 Mark XVI v2 Big pilot 5004 *under review* Pilot chrono 3717 latest version Top gun chrono 3789 latest version Aquatimer Cousteau diver 2006-08 versions 3707 Ti Chronograph ingy (old version) w/ lello DWO Anything from Concepta Patek Nautilus 5711 ultimate SW (blue and gray) Nautilus 3711 ultimate SW (black) Omega Ultimate Planet Ocean (UPO) 42mm PO (latest ultimate version) Planet Ocean Professional (Ploprof) v2 Ceramic Planet Ocean (latest version from N-factory)*under review* JLC Navy Seals Diver (NSD) Concord C1 Vacheron Constantin Overseas (latest ultimate Swiss ETA version w/ correct date wheel window) Sinn Sinn U1 Sinn U2 Sinn UX Sinn U1000 SoleBox U2 Graham Chronofighter Dewitt Academia Chrono Bell & Ross Bell & Ross BR02 Bell & Ross BR03-92 Bell & Ross BR03 type aviation swiss quartz Tag Heuer Tag Heuer Aquaracer Chrono TAG Heuer Link Calibre 16 Chronograph Aquaracer 500M Calibre 5 Hublot Diver 4ooo – v4 ultimate caviar v6 hublot Big Bang stainless steel I’m sure there’s more but I know very little about HB’s, others input is needed. 6. Ladies, We have a new maker in the competition, the Z-Factory (ZF). They released their first Panerai, the PAM351. Quality and finish looks rather good

  7. My very first IWC has arrived and I love it. The size is big but not too big which was my biggest fear when ordering the watch. My other fear, the strap quality - it sucks but I can live with it until I can get my hands on a nicer leather strap. On to the eye candy I couldn't wait until tomorrow's Wristies to post something. Hope you all enjoy the pics

  16. That is a pretty hard question to answer mate...as there are so many variables to what makes a rep a certain price and what doesnt... Things like popularity, quality of the movement, materials used, if its being sold off to get rid of it from makers stock etc etc For example some models can be cheaper but be of great quality and good movements... like maybe a Hublot BBK BMII 48mm..... it was $300 but now can be bought for $215 because maker is getting rid if its stock..... dealers will still sell it for $300 but smaller dealers are selling it for the lower price...because they buy them up at and sell them on quick... other dealers just dont care and wont update and will take the additional profit... That BBK has full ceramic, colourless sapphire AR, Real CF dial A7750 movement etc etc.... it is a quality rep and for $215 great value.... I loved it and had up against a gen and my mate the owner was gutted !! Then you can get a rep like say a Sinn regulator for around $140 it has sapphire superb AR it is as good or as close to gen as you could possibly hope...and I am sure if it was a popular brand the maker would mark it up... Then you can buy models that are in the $100-150 bracket that are exactly the same as the high end versions but with a cheap 22J/25J Chinese movement...this is especially so with say Rolex....has sapphire, Correct mag and AR to cyclops, great pearl, bezel etc etc You can get other reps that are expensive because of certain details...like say a Flying B.... that has a fantastic dial..very very gen like and was more expnsive to produce than say an average rep dial.... Then you say go for PAMs some of these are great reps OTB for around $200-250 and almost indistinguishable from gen unless you know the models and brand etc... and they look quality on the wrist... I have bought some great reps for $100 and some great ones for $500.... but the quality was in all of them though maybe not the details... and it was absolutely dependant on the brand and then the movement.... Say like a HB KP is around $300 and IMHO looks cheap and nasty on the wrist for a HB etc... Then you can go for something like a Noob maker Breitling SO II Chrono.... they are about $300 and they look and feel like gen.... and have a reliable movement...you can alos get the Abyss with a swiss movement for similar money and agian it is a easily passable in a Breitling store on the wrist (not that you would) but you get what i mean.. So the best answer I can say is.... It depends what model, what maker, what dealer, what movement, not so much whether price is high or low..... guys rave about those $130 22J Rolex's ... Dont worry about misspelling on dealers sites.... it is common and some descriptions can be misleading .... it can be to overstate how good teh watch is or it can easily be the opposite...many times you see a watch in your hand that you would never think is any good from the dealers sites or descriptions or pics.... That is why this and other forums are so good because we can share thsoe experiences and decode if you like what the dealers are actually offering... Show us the TAG you mean either here or in the TAG sub forum and ask about..... guys will help.... also use search tool and go through the pages of the sub forums... Also remember you can save about $30-60 on dealer sites prices if you use smaller dealers in TD section..... guys like Sead at Supermirrors or mary at Kingshow etc...send them a link to the one you mean...they will confirm if available and price generally save your self $20-30 and same again on shipping ...like most dealers charge $45 for EMS but sead charges $25.. and there is bigger saving between them for for registered, DHL etc

  17. It's very difficult in that price range lately as many price have gone up in recent years, although some nice quartz Tags available. If you can push your budget up to around $250 ish then you are in the range of a really nice aquaracer 500m or Carrera chrono a7750. Some ok ish quartz available though if the budget is rigid: http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=41_210&products_id=6587 http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=41_210&products_id=6587

  22. Overall it's good. The dial markers could be a bit straighter. The dial itself could be a tiny bit darker. The AR/crystal could be a bit better. Some people have had the pushers fall off. Mine came with a missing c-clip on the bracelet clasp. It's large and a bit heavy for my 6.4" wrist. But like I said its a good rep and worth getting if you're a pilot watch nut like me

  25. Someone like me? What is that supposed to mean? Please keep the insults to yourself. Mods, I understand that JoeyB is a modder here, and invented the replacement plastic insert thing for classic Rolex but even a fool can see the terrible trouble he's causing in this thread. He's obviously getting great pleasure from disrupting the flow of necessary communications between the people who's been grievously affected by the issue at hand. Plain and simple, it appears that he is trolling this thread for his own enjoyment.

  27. I have yet to see a Monaco worth buying, and that is a watch that I would love to own. They are very pricey and all seem to have flaws that have kept me away. Specifically I have never seen one with that flaw (Saphir Crytal) but the Monaco 24 concepts all say CENIFUGAL instead of Centrifugal. If I were going to get one I would get the Monaco LS, it has a solid case back so you can't see that it uses the wrong movement. not sure if there is a better Monaco rep out there.

  29. Obviously nobody cares about the comments you are referring to. l8terz or whatever his name is, came on this thread to disrupt things, he was incredibly rude and had no idea what he was talking about. When others confronted him and his stupidity you come along and stood up for him claiming that this is your home and all that. Why exactly are you on here every day now filling up page after page with your pointless dribble? L8terz is a moron, imo you are not far off. If you go to the first few pages you'll notice that Mike had not communicated with the people who sent him their watches, that was the issue. Some had to wait longer than others, slowly but surly everyone involved has had communication with him and have either had their stuff returned or are in the process of getting their stuff returned. I was a proponent of getting this thread closed because I felt like the point of this thread was to get some open communication going, I still feel like it has served its purpose and done that.. Because of Mike's complete lack of professionalism and respect for our hobby (yes yours too) I would say that not too many people will want to dance that dance with him so it's safe to say that no matter what happens from here on out he has killed his chances of working with most of us.

  31. I know that we are all anal about the % of authenticity with our reps, but sometimes we forget that 99.9% of the population truly cannot tell a Rolex from a Times, and furthermore they don't care. I live in a small town, and over the past 35+ years that I have lived here, I bet I haven't seen over 50 Rolex watches on the wrist of folks here, including visitors. I have seen exactly one GMT outside of mine and that was owned by and orthopedic surgeon, and he's no longer here. I suppose if you live in a big city, and/or you are in a situation where you are surrounded by a lot of guys wearing high end watches, you would either have to wear genuine watches, very accurate reps, or walk around with your hand in your pocket all the time!! I doubt that 80% of the guys who own a genuine Rolex GMT could tell you the hand stack sequence without looking down at their watch. I would love to have a good reliable CHS movement, but to me the more obvious tells on this watch are the bezel/insert and crystal, some dials and the lume. AFA the hand stack, only two times a day when the hour hand passes over the GMT hand on the IHS movement is the inaccuracy noticeable, otherwise it requires a real close look at the watch to notice the hand stack. I'm not saying this is inconsequential, but it wouldn't prevent me wearing my GMT out in a crowd.
