  1. Definitely V2.
  2. If you open the case and look at the movement you should know. Since from the age it has to be either V1 or V2. Version 2 used a smaller ETA 2671 ladies movement. Version 2 is a more desirable case from what I understand.
  3. I've noticed that you can have very decent amplitude in one position and have it drop down to unacceptable in a different position. What causes this? Even on a recently serviced but older movement. Also, what are the odds of something actually breaking rather than just getting gummed up and dirty by not servicing on a timely manner. My guess would be more often than not, it would just require proper cleaning to bring it back into spec.
  4. I love the Acetimer model. It's super quiet. Only problem I have is it's an older model that doesn't have the single direction only modes.
  5. Too tall. Bk uses the 2.7mm gasket, by the way.
  6. Also, they have now reduced postage for small parts to US. It's no longer necessary to have a customers signature under a certain dollar amount.
  7. That's what I was afraid of. I took out a similar movement because I didn't like it although that doesn't look bad at all. I wish there was a way to find out what the standard height are on the clone wheels.
  8. I've found the bigger problem is having the dw overlay hit the back of the dial. Anyway, it's much easier to raise the dw than to try and force it all together when it's too tight.
  9. I'm looking at using an ST2130 in a DJ and wondered if the hand pins are going to be tall enough since the ETA 2824 are too short without having them changed to a taller set. Particularly a problem on a stick dial.
  10. The only thing that I've found that really works well in keeping a pearl is using a two part epoxy from the back. Every time I've glued one in from the front it's been lost in no time at all.
  11. What about wheel/pinion heights? Normal 2824-2 H2 heights can be a problem on some reps.
  12. Here's my opinion which isn't worth much but what I'm seeing. The case doesn't look too bad to me. Rehaut is decent. CG's are better than average but a little fat overall. Looks like a Taiwan case to me.. Downside is the insert needs to be sanded and recessed and the pearl's pretty bad. But the downside to recessing the insert is that the crystal is already sitting a little high and that would make it worse. You could probably take out the crystal and sand a little off the gasket. The Rolex crown on the dial is also pretty bad. The movement is a standard Asian clone
  13. Worked fine for me.
  14. +1 I figured you guys were all barking up the wrong tree since the 25-295 is a rather standard Rolex crystal and one thing I know (which isn't much) is that the Sea Dweller, because of it's 4000' rating has a much thicker crystal. I've still not heard of an aftermarket crystal for the SSD.
  15. The dw's are different but I think the 2824 will fit on a 2836 and vice versa after you take off the day wheel and the day corrector wheel from the 2836.
  16. It's a shame that to get an Asian 7750 running properly, it costs almost as much as getting a Swiss movement in the first place.
  17. They will catch this guy. The video's been on all the local news stations and apparently they even brought the flight back to the gate and didn't find the suspect. Apparently he decided not to get on the plane and left the airport.
  18. On the local news yesterday, at Ft. Lauderdale International Airport, a solid gold ladies Rolex was left behind at the Customs check in line and picked up by the guy behind her from the plastic xray bin. He then disappeared without boarding his plane. I believe it was valued at around $15000. The chances of him geting away with it are slim and none since they have pictures of him and have the passenger manifests for all the flights that were leaving.
  19. What's the MG stand for. Clarke has the 25-295 readily avaialble if that's the same thing. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Clark-Sapphire-crystal-Rolex-25-295-/250908191858?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a6b4b2c72
  20. You are officially my new hero........ Take a bunch of left over crap and turn it into a deent looking watch!
  21. Hey, congratulations. Great looking kid. I just got one also. Only thing is mine"s 2nd generation. I guess he'd be a V2.
  22. It seems almost physically impossible for the time of the date changeover to continually change since it's a function of a set of gears that are totally constant in their revolutions. I'd need one of the wtachmaker/modders to explain that one before I'd believe it.
  23. I think he's just saying it's off an 18k TT bracelet and marked as such. Funny how so many rep bracelets are marked like that, even on the SS bracelets.
  24. I wonder what my DW 6263 with gen crown, tube, crystal, pushers, gen and rep bracelet and serviced Swiss 7760 ETA and both bakelite and SS bezels is worth? Hmmm.
  25. Rep with a couple of gen parts.
