The gold serti sub was a gift...so the choice was already made for me...but I have to comment on that Omega of yours....that thing is beautiful ...where did you get it? I went to the Omega shop the other day as I am really starting to love the Omegas....the PO Chrono and the Broad Arrow GMTs and Speedmasters...all very nice! I left with a big book of all the models...so I am trying to catch up as I don't know squat about the brand.

I just knew it was and I am so thankful ...ever since I saw her in that 80s flick "The Rocketeer"....oh my...beauty and brains. :wub:

Congrats on the new watch....the gen is great, no rep TT can come close to the gold rolex uses...mine oldie but goodie: ...and be prepared to get asked a zillion times "is that real".... I tell 'em, "ya, $30 bucks down at the flea market...."

I know I have broken at least one of the 7 deadly sins...thou shalt not covet....and i will now start burning in hell 'cause i just love that watch. Your video makes it so tempting to pull the trigger. I don't think you are being picky at all....if that wasn't the picture you were shown....than I'd ask for either my money back or a replacement....

I have the black gator case from TimeConnection...very nice...especially at the $110 price tag...

Don't think that sounds accurate...I was told by US Postal employees that they can send and insure registered mail up to $50,000. FIFTY THOUSAND US DOLLARS. And speaking from experience, I have already sent out a $4k+ panerai via USPS registered/insured mail....with no problems. UPS/FedEx usually won't insure watches for full value...they will only insure up to $500. Not sure about DHL but prolly the same. BTW, its not illegal to ship a rolex into the US....you just have to cough up the duty for it....i have never had a problem with parts either.

I love watches...all of them...old, new, rep, gen... Reps allow me to get some very nice pieces that otherwise I would just have to drool over them in the glass display case. I have had my share of gens and still have a few....have slowly been selling of my gen panerai's after discovering this forum...no need to spend $4k plus on such a simple watch that is so easily repped and with the same friggin movement as the gen... Not going to put down gens...the fit and finish is in another class...i finally bought a gen Rollie TT Yachtie for my wife last week...a gorgeous watch and it matches up to my gen TT sub....no rep, that I know of, can come close to the TT rollies's gold...and I ain't wearin' no fake gold NOR would I ever expect my better half to do so... Then again, these rollies might get sold as i am getting sick and frickin tired of being asked...."uh, is dat real"....STFU and leave me alone! I'm babbling again....bottom line for me....cost and quality of the reps are why I buy.... cheers....oh, and they make me look so cool....NOT!

88 for me....lots of travel here as well and the gmt function is nice. thats my vote....gen 88.... but personally, the only gmt i want now is the gen 233....no more cheap a s s Unitas/ETA based gen pannies for me.....our reps are just as good....don't think a real rep 8 day movement will be coming out anytime soon... i'm drifting again.... get the 88....you'll love it.
