  1. oh man -- i think i'd probably regret letting that one go too i have a feeling i'll regret letting these two go: deltatahoe
  2. thanks for the info coolfire -- i appreciate it!! deltatahoe
  3. tried to send you a PM; could you shoot me a PM to let me know when you've cleared out some messages? thanks in advance deltatahoe ps, if one of you singapore guys talks to him outside the forum, could you let him know his inbox if full?
  4. sorry man -- no such crown laying around my house -- wish i could help deltatahoe
  5. sorry to hear this kurt -- there is nothing worse than trying to help and then having something like this happen i'm a self-proclaimed modding super-noob so take this ridiculous suggestion for what it's worth (basically nothing) would it be possible to drill a hole (or even better, threads -- but i'm guessing that isn't possible in these small sizes) in the stem that is stuck in the crown, then glue something into the stem in order to remove it (pull it out? unscrew it?) from the crown? am i nuts? deltatahoe
  6. i have to say -- having owned the 4th gen 42mm PO, the $100 42mm PO that narikaa is offering is a pretty remarkable value... deltatahoe
  7. to be honest, i can't believe you kept on writing after this sentence congrats on your first rep spotting in the wild deltatahoe
  8. yessir that's the one congrats on the new piece!! deltatahoe
  9. nice looking watch you got there lani mind sharing what you parted with? deltatahoe
  10. what's your budget? would you prefer to get a genuine, or is a rep on the table? deltatahoe
  11. ok i'm going to sound like an oldtimer here, but how much easier can it get? the major dealers all have websites with automated payment processing; it's practically as easy as ordering from amazon.com back in the day finding a dealer was like going on a wild goose hunt deltatahoe
  12. sometimes it's for reasons as simple as convenience. for instance, i can ship a watch via UPS without leaving my office, whereas if i need to send a watch internationally, it involves a (long, frustrating) trip to the USPS. deltatahoe
  13. nothing quite like the peace of mind of knowing that you're safe and sound deltatahoe
  14. thanks for the additional color -- fantastic deal. one of those extremely rare 'too good to be true' stories that is actually true deltatahoe
  15. wow -- fantastic looking combination nice thread lani -- i need to dig out some pics my summery strap options deltatahoe
  16. wow -- very nice trade indeed -- congrats i'm assuming when he popped the back on your DJ to guarantee the movement was genuine you had him pop the back on his two watches as well? deltatahoe
  17. i have to say chris that your evaluation of the gen/copy ETA situation makes 100% sense to me; i think the thing that endears you to so many people is the transparency you bring to the hobby best of luck deltatahoe
  18. i'm assuming you're talking about something like this: the picture is from angus -- he had access to these at some point in time (you can see more pics in his photobucket here). probably worth emailing him to see if they are still available and if so, at what price deltatahoe
  19. i actually recently got bored of denim and have been buying most of my pants from a new company called bonobos. their lightweight cords are the most comfortable pants i've ever worn and something different compared to the vast sea of jeans out there (how many pocket stitching variations can they come up with?). but before i abandoned my denim interest my favorite pairs were EDJ (small california-based company importing top quality japanese denim), rock & republic, and (several years ago now) earnest sewn. deltatahoe
  20. that line just had a great ring to it, so i figured i'd go ahead and quote it if someone is winding your rep, the power reserve hand may as well be rattling around loose in the case deltatahoe
  21. you're welcome. yes, that means it isn't glued on completely -- it can be done (at least i had someone do it on my 5002). the black rep strap is total crap; i've heard the brown is marginally better, although i would most certainly recommend getting a different strap for the watch -- it will change the feel of the watch completely deltatahoe
  22. re: your first question, the hand doesn't jump in one day increments on the genuine, so it's not impossible for the power reserve to be at 6.5 days on the genuine -- i just think people like the fact that if you were to keep the watch on a winder (as many people do for automatics), it would read fully charged at 7 days. the reality is no one is going to look at your watch and say "hmmmm....charged to 6.5 days, huh?" that must be a fake re: your second question, yes it is an easy fix (just nudge the hand to 7) hope this helps deltatahoe
