  1. @blue_sphere, i don't mean to be blunt, but why do you keep bumping this thread? i keep coming back thinking there is additional info posted to find your same last post deltatahoe ps, this is definitely a beautiful watch; makes me want to take on yet another modding project
  2. yes please do not post ANY photos of a vintage 300 i might die as well (of regret). i passed on the opportunity over a year ago to buy a franken vintage 300 that i'm still kicking myself over deltatahoe
  3. do you know if the watch has been serviced recently? with vintage watches, i would typically send this off to be serviced by ziggy immediately after i received it -- for vintage watches, you typically never know how long it has been since the last servicing (or even more important, the quality of service it received). if you must wear the watch in the meantime, i'd carefully wind the watch (read: slowly) until you feel tension in the mainspring and it won't wind anymore. you'll be able to feel the spring getting tighter (ie. close to fully wound) based on the growing pressure it takes in each subsequent turn of the crown to wind the watch. hope this helps deltatahoe ps, let's see some pictures
  4. fwiw, i think you really captured the heart of the matter nicely in this paragraph deltatahoe
  5. what a doofus sorry to see this by-tor -- there's nothing worse than a thread crap and this is the worst kind deltatahoe
  6. welcome to RWG merlinfe lots of great info out there; check out the noob guide as a good starting place also, by-tor has written a great review comparing all the different gmt ii versions... best regards, deltatahoe
  7. congrats my friend; she's a looker deltatahoe
  8. personally, i think a vintage 1675 with all black bezel insert looks great with a suit. you just can't beat the thin profile of the 1675 deltatahoe
  9. very nice collection & pics; good to see other members with multiple pams deltatahoe
  10. x2 i just couldn't pass up the deal of the year deltatahoe
  11. so sorry to hear about this RG deltatahoe
  12. i agree with the sentiments above lani; in the end (as far as watches go), i personally don't think the savings outweigh the hassle and risks of a group buy.... for me the only real case where a group buy makes sense is for small dollar items when the shipping cost equals or exceeds the cost of the item (e.g. ETA day/date wheels from cousins UK)... deltatahoe
  13. i'm not convinced one way or another...it's hard to tell from the pics deltatahoe
  14. while making the 1950 red ala DRSD is intriguing, i think either orange or blue SL would suit me best deltatahoe
  15. i agree 100% with the doc -- run away screaming in this market, i think you can do much better for $3,900 deltatahoe
  16. please tell me you're joking ken deltatahoe
  17. so ken have you typically uploaded one pic at a time? if so, do you use firefox? there is a imageshack toolbar for firefox that let's you upload multiple files at once for free; it's easy to use and did i mention it's free deltatahoe
  18. yup, so click 'browse', select the file, then click 'host it', then i'm seeing what G was describing -- a huge khaki box at the top of the page that has the direct link to the image... hopefully it will quit changing on you and you'll see what we're seeing deltatahoe
  19. it looks the same as it always has for me (i'm assuming you really mean imageshack.us?) i usually click on the little i on the top right of the image and use the direct link deltatahoe
  20. good advice from the doc -- it's hard not to be skeptical of such pure white dial and hands with that case deltatahoe
  21. it's definitely a tritium dial; depending on the way the watch was cared for (primarily exposure to sun, water & oxygen), tritium ages differently it could be also be a NOS dial, which generally have lighter colored markers. the good news on this watch is that everything matches (dial & hands). an important question to ask would be whether the hands glow or not -- if they barely glow, they are likely NOS tritium and not original to the watch. if they really glow, they are superluminova (and inacurrate of course for this watch). i hope this helps (both the OP and smc) deltatahoe
  22. i'll chime in as well -- that GMT looks like a beauty (personally i love the pure white markers & hands). i'm with doc re: the jubilee, but for some people (mostly crazy alaskans) it's the only way to go. regardless, good luck with the purchase -- you won't regret it. with its slim case, the 1675 is one of the most comfortable watches i've ever worn deltatahoe
  23. aww shucks your 5002 looks great lani; when you combine chieftang's double AR coating and that lume job, the results are pretty remarkable to be honest, i'm really surprised the 5002 big pilot hasn't received more praise. i think people are put off by the non-working power reserve, which is really a shame deltatahoe
  24. i can confidently say this is my favorite vintage pam -- hands down i just love the untouched, tasty white hands & markers deltatahoe
  25. unless i'm losing my mind, looks like someone AR coated a SSD me likey deltatahoe
