  1. wow. that's some unexpected good news. post some more pictures of your project watch as it comes along....
  2. poor form 2manywatches. go find another place hang out.
  3. i'm guessing i'll be wearing my iwc pilot watch most of the weekend....
  4. pugwash, you have to see the irony of taking pictures of that watch on a sea star, conch and crystal formations (as opposed to 40's of old english, ridiculous fur coats, or maybe a pimp cane). cheers to the sea shore pimp!!!
  5. good thinking sash....enjoy your family! deltatahoe
  6. @baltic, you're right -- ofrei has them here
  7. for those not familiar with songkran (i know i wasn't)...
  8. i think it is actually a pretty nice strap. not that expensive either; definitely worth a shot. it tapers quite a bit at the buckle (which is quite a bit different if you're used to wearing 24mm pam straps), but i'm sure that's the way the gen is made....
  9. most dealers will provide a replacement dial for little (to no!) charge....just ask (it helps if they could include it in a future order).... deltatahoe
  10. congrats shabber.....she's a looker.....wear it well
  11. i was wondering how king could have gotten advance stocks of the costeau divers. my impression from angus was that he was talking with the maker over the next several days to work out final flaws....if king had gotten a couple early prototypes that she was selling, that would be one thing....but i'm guessing she will get the same final product (at the same time) as angus and the other dealers with access to this watch..... deltatahoe
  12. i just tried to go to photobucket.com, and it won't even come up for me. hopefully they are having some other issues (unrelated to our hobby) and your photos will be back soon....
  13. wow - must have been quite a surprise to see a red sub (of all watches!) on his wrist...
  14. hmm...never taken more than a couple days for me....just ordered the 22mm po rubber strap group buy with him this week....
  15. you can try here (but many times it the item has already left china by the time the tracking starts working), but then once it leaves china and reaches the states, you can typically track it on usps's site here deltatahoe
  16. the smallest screwdriver from my screwdriver set fits in one of the two slots; i inserted it into one of the slots and tried to do what i could to tightened the bezel the screw....i thought about buying another screwdriver set (it was only $3) and using two of them together... probably not the best way of doing it, but figured i'd pass along my thoughts... deltatahoe
  17. 25 tickets for me. many kudos for the charitable gesture from overboosted & joshua.
  18. nice looking combo shultzie! that is definitely a unique leather; i really like the white contrast stitching with the white dial..... deltatahoe ps, great looking dog. i'd love to have a dog (golden retrievers would be at the top of the list), but it's just too difficult while living in the city.
  19. great article shultzie. thanks for passing it along. i often feel a little guilty about all the dollars i spend on reps; that article actually makes me feel better that i don't plan on spending a huge chunk of my bonus on watches....
  20. interesting can any other members here see if their big bang does the same thing???
  21. so my big bang (ss bezel black dial version) just came in today, and first of all, i just have to say wow -- the watch is definitely unique -- really striking. however, one thing that i noticed is that when i rotate the watch back and forth when it is on my wrist (see picture below for illustration), i can hear a 'tapping' sound, almost as if something inside the case is shifting back and forth. i'm familiar with 7750 movements -- this is not the sound of the rotor spinning. has anyone else experienced this 'tapping sound'? or any thoughts on what this could be??.... i've tried to take the watch off and look inside the display back while i replicate the action, but with the rotor spinning around it's tough to see if the movement (or anything else for that matter) is shifting in the case. deltatahoe ps, here is a picture to try to demonstrate what kind of rotating i'm talking about that results in the 'tapping' sound...the easiest way to describe it is to think about my arm as an axis, with my watch rotating back and forth around it, like i am turning the watch face towards and away from me (or possibly screwing in a screw with a rachet/screwdriver).
  22. i feel like speaking up here. posts like this are the very reason why dealers are hesitant to post on the boards. they try to provide updates & details and what do they get in return? somebody from across the globe telling them that they are "getting screwed" because they think they know the way these things work. @zetterdawg, i understand what you're getting at (ie. large customers have buying power and should be able to get price concessions), but who are you to tell the dealers here they are getting screwed? maybe you should offer to go to china as a consultant and tell them how to run their business? kudos to angus for letting the board be a part of making these watches better and keeping us informed about new developments, etc. hopefully he'll continue to do so, and do what he can to convince the maker that he will sell more watches and in the end make more profits if he lowers the prices on these high end replicas. i respect angus and the way he does business; i don't think he needs us telling him how to do his job. like angus said in an earlier post, it's in his interest as well that these new replicas be reasonably priced -- that way he can sell more and make higher profits too. deltatahoe
  23. pretty sure the gen has a black date wheel. here is a pic from a webstore:
