Freddy, What are your MBW case numbers? From http://www.rwg.cc/members/serial-number-MB...bw+case+numbers I am going down an almost exact path as your DRSD, and have the 5790188 MBW. (My Clark Super t-39 arrived today ). As far as dial's go, in shopping ND, Yuki, etc, it looks like most SD dials come in at 26.5mm. Is yours 27? -Ronin

Second case of lost screw in the last week. See this post: http://www.rwg.cc/members/Replacement-beze...ews-t92975.html -Ronin

@freddy333 - Is the dial on that DRSD the stock MBW, Gen, or modded? (working on my own 1665 project) TIA, -Ronin

Not necessarily. Maybe I am the exception but, I have had at least a half-dozen 21j's with no issues. In fact, after regulating, most of my 21j's are within a few seconds per day. -Ronin

Help, what do dealers do to evade customs?
Ronin replied to chin-up-27's topic in General Discussion
The real name thing is tough, especially if you find yourself needing to pick it up from the shipper. In the past, I have dropped or substituted a letter in my last name. In that case, it was a "simple typo", but still leaves some plausible dependability and is usually not an issue for pick-up. However, at the end of the day it is not really worth being too paranoid and hiding your identity. If you get into the hobby, and start using PayPal it makes it tough. Although, there are still ways to hide from Paypal, the effort is almost not worth it. They have bigger fish to fry.... -Ronin -
Excellent. Those dials are gorgeous. Vintage is clearly making a come back. -Ronin

Hmmm, which Loctite, most Loctite I am familiar with relies on thread's and the absence of air. Putting the wrong LT on it will do nothing, and won't the poping them out make the problem worse by potentially widening the holes slightly? I would think the better solution would be to pop the bezel off and access them from the back side. So has anyone actually removed the Bezel from one of these? TIA, -Ronin

I also love the Black Ice. It was interesting to see the handful of Victorinox SA watches that even made it into the 2009 WatchTime Buyers Guide. This SA even caught my eye since I also like the Breitling Emergency/Aerospace: SA also has a wicked 7750 Auto as well: Enjoy -Ronin

Ditto on my black steel. Since all of the AeroMarine series bezels are essentially the same, I wonder if this applies to them all SOSF, BCE, SA... I haven't had the time to pop the bezel, since they free-wheel in their holes, I am under the impression they are some sort of decorative 'flare' fit 'captive screw'. or a 'plug' (think gauged ear piercing) Random thoughts until someone pulls the bezel. -Ronin

DL, do you know what case that 5513 is based on? MBW??? TIA, -Ronin

Bump, great question... I am curious if anyone has detailed information on these style Breitling Bezels, including removal. The screws are decorative to begin with-- are they not? I look at my Black Steel and wonder if this going to be an issue. I wonder if the bezels should be pre-emptively removed and the screws cemented from the back side to prevent future issues. Experts, please chime in. TIA, -Ronin

I like it. IF it gets rep'd, I bet we will see a low end quartz version or fantasy version first -Ronin

Love the graphite, then the brown. This makes me want to take up a PAM project. Hmmm, graphite in a PVD... -Ronin

Ok, so it is not a rep. And don't hate on the quartz . Here is the story so far. Did you ever come across a watch that simply jumped out at you, regardless of brand, movement, etc? About six months ago I came across the following advertisement in "Wired" magazine (see below). I ripped it out, and it has been floating around my desk ever since. I battled the "but it's quartz" for the last six months, but simply love the design. My personal style in watch's lately has shifted towards vintage, and military style models. About a month ago, I came across the watch at my local Nordstrom's. Tried it on. Loved it. Got the nod from the wife. However, Nordstrom sells it for MSRP/List price which I was not prepared to pay. (Note: I have seen this watch for sale as high as $1295 on Amazon, $995 was the "on-release" price, and the current list price is down to $695.) I managed to snag it for about the same price as my rep Black Steel, $400. I feel at that price point it was worth it. I present to you the Victorinox Swiss Army Infantry Vintage Chrono: The ad that started it all - I love the Sword hands!!!: Unboxing: (Wow!!! Instructions AND a warranty! ) Eye Candy: Dial changes color in different lighting conditions: Direct Sunlight = Green LUME is Supa...: Size Comparison 47mm including crown SOH is 50mm including crown: (still need a better strap for the SOH) Hey, it's complicated Hope you enjoyed this. So far, first impressions are great. The fit, finish and overall quality of this is supurb. Bang for the Buck is definetly there. PRODUCT DETAILS Made in Switzerland with precision Swiss analog quartz movement Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment Stainless Steel case with screw-in caseback Luminous hands, numerals and hour markers Protected Crown Chronograph 30-min, 60-sec, 1/10th sec Telemeter Scale Date Calendar Stainless Steel Bracelet Water resistant to 10 ATM (100 meters/330 feet) 44mm case diameter (47 including crown) Final thoughts, the watch is also available in Gunmetal PVD. Almost forgot. This watch functions as a "Telemeter". Not to be confused with "Tachymeter". This makes sense on an infantry watch. A Tachymeter is used to calculate speed, wheras the Telemeter is used to calculate distance. How does it work? Remember when you were a kid and you would count how long it would take from a "flash" of lightning until you heard the thunder? This works the same way, you can use it to calculate the distance of a thunderstorm or distance of artillery by timing the flash to explosion. Start the chrono when you see lightning/artilery flash. Stop the chrono on BOOM and note the distance on the bezel. Thanks for viewing, -Ronin
