Are you sure the Rotor did not simply come unscrewed, or off its bearing. If it came off the bearing, it is probably fine (press on, or remove and treat as hand-wind), if the screw came out and bounced into the balance, it may need some work. ??? If you do not have any 'reliable' gen watches having a Seiko, Citizen, "Victorinox" (then Wenger) IMHO, in you collection is not a bad idea. Search Tip for Seiko: Search "Seiko Prospex" on the bay or elsewhere for the better than average Seikos.

+1, I have to agree strongly with this. I would like to add that "Vintage could be the new black". (Look at the response to the new Tudor at Basel). I think the designs that have just come out from Rolex, Breitling, etc, were all on the drawing board pre-recession. These designs are too late IMHO. I think the vintage watch-- these days comes off as understated and financially frugal if they were gen. Also, I think slimmer dress watches are going to make a come back. (I have been wearing a 1603 DateJust since Saturday, and I am amazed how it works with anything I am wearing-- from dress cloths to shorts & t-shirt) Observation: I travel for work quite a bit. I spend a lot of time in airports where watch spotting is quite fun and easy. My last trip saw very few luxury brands, in fact next to the mass market Casio/Seikos, "Hamilton" was the most seen amongst fellow travelers and suits, followed by quartz TAGs.

That is definitely not the correct crown. That looks identical to the crown on the new PT's. As for the 4mil serial, unless custom, IIRC all MBWs were 5 mils. Strange hodge podge of parts.

Spend some time over at doubleredseadweller.com and VRF (Vintage Rolex Forum) dial archive. Study the photos side by side. Their products vary over time. Also, what they picture may not be what they ship. If you settle on one, make sure you confirm the photo is WYSIWIG.

Buying the 21.6 version will allow you to swap a Gen 7750 movement easier as the hand sizes are 1:1 compatible. Most newer reps are the newer 28.8's though.

Amazing that a fall 18" onto a bath mat killed the watch. Not very good shock protection. On the flip side, while the movement may not be pretty, my $900 "Ball - Fireman II" with Ball modified ETA movement is rated to 5000 G's!!!!

If you have Whole Foods, Sunflower Market (formerly Wild Oats), or Vitamin Cottage, they all cater/stock many gluten free alternatives. Keep in mind RICE is not gluten based. Another miracle non-gluten grain is Quinoa (keen-wa). If she is a beer drinker, seek out "Great Divide - Samurai Beer". It is a rice beer that is excellent that all my friends with gluten sensitivity drink. (Regular beer is high in gluten.) Good luck, HTH,

Just my .02 here. I think this design would be better served on the older 36mm size. That way it also works as a Unisex watch. My wife would love that watch in the older smaller size. (The watch above does have some feminine-esq wear-ability qualities.) I have also seen these in person and share RobbieG's feelings. I think the leap from 36 to 41 is too much. As far as the 41's go, that 1mm does make a difference. 40mm ok, 39mm perhaps optimal??? Still refined, and elegant enough under a dress shirt. These 41's scream LOOK AT ME! Like the new sub and deepsea, again in my opinion, I think their proportions are 'off'. If you are a big guy, I am sure they work great. I get the sense that these went onto the drawing board when the big oversized watch craze was fashionable. Now that understated is coming back, Rolex was perhaps too late to the market. Final though, I saw a woman wearing a 41mm white face Milgauss-- LOOKED HORRIBLE on her. Way out of proportion and too loud. Conversely, I still like the look of a 40mm Sub (Cameron Diaz), or 40mm PAM (Heidi Klum) on a Women, but the new Rolex's not so much. YMMV,

From just the photos it does not look very 'balanced', and looks targeted at a younger market who either isn't buying watches or are going full bling instead. Funny thing-- my AD tried to tell me "they went bigger because Rolex customers were getting older and it is easier to read as their eyesight goes". Ummmm, yeah riiight. Since I have a good rapport with them, I fired back in jest-- "it might be chunky enough to break their fall, so they don't break a hip."

This is really an exciting final. I can actually say I am equally excited for both teams and don't have a favorite here. It should be great to watch.

The new photos and everything looks great. If you are going to be dealing with Yuki, see if he has anymore vintage pearls, or one of his inserts. +1 on the Tudor hands. I also like that NATO strap color combo.

Side note, the NEW Mac Mini is a hell of a machine. BONUS - You can run TWO displays off it. Looks great with a pair of Dell (Matte) displays.
