  1. I live at 7000(+) feet. All wheel drive is absolutely immperative. I owned an Audi A6 for 9 years...nice car. Not fast. I now own the 335xi (all wheel drive coupe). 300 HP 300 pds torque. No comparison. The BMW is a rocket ship. 4.5 4.7 - zero to 60mph. It is beating V8 'M''s in straight line races. Who needs a V8?
  2. Powershot. Man.. oh.. man.. those are some nice photos, like the nicest I can remember seeing around here, and that is saying somethin. Oh yea, nice watch too.
  3. KB...I think it is more accurate to say that the old 'Captain' at the original RWG went down in his Acura...rather than a boat. He had a great Avatar.
  4. A liitle late to this post. Does this one count? As you can tell by the snow...it is my 335xi. I like this car. It is pretty fast for 300hp. I like fast.
  5. Over at 'Geekville' there was a great member named 'Posh'. Supposedly a gal. Although some felt that she was not a 'gal'. I doubt that Posh was Victoria, although she too was supposed to come out of the Miami area. She was...'is'...a character. Posh is no longer active at the geek, and many of us missed her very much after here unannounced departure from the day in and day out of the Panerai/Breitling forum. Kinda like Victoria's departure from RWG. She was VERY knowledgable concerning fashion. Spoke of many differnt aspects of the upscale products we WIS's seem to enjoy. She dealt with the chauvanist's quite well, and contributed a lot to the forum...kinda like Victoria. I too, miss 'thier' contributions to these mostly male dominated arena's.
  6. No drop shippers, wouldn't that be nice. A photo of the actual watch your buying...that would be nice too. Lume, sure...but how about no misaligned markers and bezels. Not too much to ask.
  7. I bought this watch from Chinatown (Adam) on TRC in 2004. Purchased correct hands and gen rubber strap and ss deployment, and for the most part I wear this watch everyday. To me the Seamaster 300 Pro is the best daily beater of them all. It is not my oldest surviving rep, by a long shot...just my favorite.
  8. This about covers it. It really is all about how much money your are willing to spend on modding/servicing. The more you spend on gen parts and servicing the more the watch has to be worth to YOU. I spent more money on my 3717, and PP Nautilus than any other, but in truth some of my less expensive EL TW models are still some of my favorites, and I never spent an extra dime on them. My most curent purchase (Omega vintage Seamaster 300) will help tell the tale. Mod's, no mod's? Too soon to tell. One thing is sure. I love classic wristwatches, good rep or gen, it's all the same.
  9. The best dealer ever. I bought more quality pieces from him than any other. He retired as a result of the pressure and frustration of dealing with the growth of the replica watch market. Issues like paypal disputes, Disgruntled [censored] customers, customs hassles and the like. He was much more interested in furthering the quality of the product, then the amount of money he made. A true watch lover. A true gentleman. He is sorely missed. Those of you that never had chance to deal with him...your loss.
  10. Could be wrong...but I can't recall ever seeing any Genta watches on any reliable rep site. Personally I love his original designs from the 60's-70's of pieces like the AP Royal Oak and PP Nautilus, but many of his most recent Genta watch designs are a little over the top IMO.
  11. One of the most beautiful objects I have ever seen. Thanks for the link.
  12. Last three days for this baby. Ziggified V1. One of the worlds most perfect time pieces.
  13. Although I do not own a gen vin 300, in all my research on the gen 300, the white date wheel is not uncommon. I have seen quite a few in a lot of gen's. Black is preferred of course, but white is normal on quite a few of these models. As Ubi points out, I agree that this particular watch looks like it is a rebuilt Watchco type product. For the most part these watches consist of a bunch of gen parts refitted to an original case or movement. The best of the vintage 300's are those that are all original of course, a watch that is truly aged from wear, in dial, case, bracelet, etc. I have ordered the latest rep 300, and plan a bit of modding, but for the most part it will consist of a vintagizing (?) of the lume on the indices. The biggest tell of all for the most part IMO on a decent rep compared to gen. That being said, I have seen a fair number of these rebuilt 300's utilizing gen Omega parts that are readily available through common Omega sources. Franken watches for the most part, blurring the concept between a true genuine watch and a 'fake'. Nevertheless, the watch in question here has to be considered genuine as far as I can tell.
  14. There is definitely a white date wheel on many of the vintage 300's. The position of the date window and sizing of the indices is spot on. The fact that the watch is so pristine makes the pricing at 2500.00 appropriate as well. I wish that if it is a fake, our dealers offered this model. On the currently available 300 with date window, the window position and the indices are way off the gen. All and all this looks like a gen to me. I'd say...ask Ubi his opinion.
  15. Norge...Norge..Norge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. 1st rep watch I ever purchased was the Cartier American Tank, from Eddie in 2003. Still wear it on the occasional dress occasion. Classic dials for sure. The round case of this model doesn't appeal to me very much though. Still a classic Cartier design that's for sure. It is VERY popular these days.
  17. Not long enough. Screw regular TV programing.
  18. How about the Lago dude in the snowboard pipe competition...how could a guy with his pants around his knees hit those jumps? I hate it. I guess I am too old, cause I just don't get it. Works in prison I hear.?
  19. There could never be just one. So many... PP Nautilus...AP royal oak ...Fifty Fathoms...and on and on.
  20. Looked like a sweep for the Korean's,but noooo... 2 and three for USA. First and third for women's freestyle. Sport. You gotta love it.
  21. The man who designed this track is the same guy who designed the track for the 2002 Olympic games. A track that is still in use in Utah. Back in 2002 THAT track was designed to allow sledding events to reach the highest speeds ever attained. The Utah track was still considered the state of the art...up till this new track was designed for this Olympics. The designer boasted quite recently that the 2010 Olympic track would produce the FASTEST times yet. TOO fast evidently. 12 crashes in one practice session? Insane...hopefully there will be no more serious accidents to mar this competition. Pretty cool opening ceremony last night.
  22. I live in an Winter Olympic city. Lucky me. I can tell you that the experience is unequaled. If you love winter sports, I guess. I love winter... and sports. So for me it's all good. Now if it could just quit raining in Whistler we could run a few events. Go USA...for that matter...go Everybody!!!!!
  23. Full Sail, Hood River, Or. (USA)
