  1. All of these are dead-on
  2. Logan sez: "Looks like it would benefit from some refinishing around the clasp parts" That is very harsh window light, in macro .. the clasp and bracelet are immaculate to the eye.
  3. WILD APPLAUSE! Nice detective work, there!!
  4. I believe that the WM9 Y-M is considered the best out-of-box Y-M ... some people quibble that the dial sparkles but not enough. By the way, BK is WM9's official dealer for "Forum People" .. BK does a hands-on quality check and some mods to further improve some watches. You can speak to him about these. BK's Watch Garage on RWG An RWG discussion about WM9 Y-M
  5. I completely agree on the SEL fit to the lugs. It's immaculate on mine as well.
  6. Congrats .. do we know that the .2 upgrade is yet? I haven't noticed a detailed explanation. FYI .. take an appropriate screwdriver and gently test the tightness of all the band screws, as with ANY rep you first receive! Saves a lot of tears next week when you notice 2 are missing. (did not happen to me w/ DSSD .. was a B&R piece)
  7. This is an brilliant example of SOLID GOLD lost to time. It's an invaluable resource article.
  8. I would not trust a site that steals other dealer's photos and copy/paste their description text. Too easy to scam that way!!
  9. Steer away from the Cartier LaDonna reps tho .. altho the watch body is beautiful, the bracelets are cheap feeling. My wife said it looked like a watch the department stores only put out at Christmas time and dont even bother to lock under glass.
  10. About the crown guard .. yes, the V3 cg extends farther under the crown but unfortunately that is sadly incorrect .. it looks like both the V5 and V3 CGs are a little off in this regard. The V5 is not pointy enough and the V3 swoops too close together. And also, as you can see, the gen has a flat pearl like a V5, not the big bubble pearl of the V3. GEN side view.
  11. A few years ago, people stole my AMEX number and ordered an entire solar electricity system for a West Virginia address. The merchant himself called AMEX to verify the info since he was suspicious and then he called ME. What a good guy. I only use PP and PP-Mastercard online now.
  12. Eurotimez has the best DSSD, and yes .. some dealers are part of the same "Cartel" and sell the same watches.
  13. There's an Admin thread called "am i going crazy" or something like that about this problem.
  14. It looks like it says "CENIFUGAL" to me.
  15. This shows a lot of thoughtful insight on the part of Avitt. To collect pieces and put them together into a handsome, WORKING timepiece is a talent I'd very much like to have.
  16. Super sweet! One of the forum strap makers has exotic leather bands for this case and WOW are they gorgeous.
  17. The safest way to "wind" your watch if it has stopped is to wind by the stem only a few turns, to get the spring charged a little, and then wear it so that the rotor winds the rest of the way.
  18. More than likely the system time on the forum server is incorrect (DST set improperly?)
  19. I understand what you are trying to say, but comparing mass-produced watches to one of a kind artworks is sketchy at best .. not a good argument.
  20. Agreed. Even if that place is not a scam (it probably is) they are sending all the wrong signals by using fake photos and not replying to your questions. Also ... $270 for QUARTZ? That's double what you should be paying.

    POrange!

That bracelet resizing tool looks much too short to push the pins completely out. How did you finish pulling the pins without scratching up everything with pliers?
  22. A watch winder will not make the oil in the watch last longer, or make it go away sooner. A winder in merely for convenience. As for rotation methods, certain movements only wind one direction! (7750??) Most wind in both directions. 800+ rotations per day are normally required to maintain a full wind.
