  1. Starting the week off... El Primero 16520- And tomorrow... The other El Primero 16520-
  2. Add one more to my list: My wife forgot to take off her TW Best custom made DJ at the pool... So, we found out the risky way that it's pool proof
  3. To remove the crown from the stem- Seat the stem boss into a pin vise, and with a bit of pressure, you can unthread the crown from the stem. Be careful- If the crown doesn't want to turn, don't force it, as you could snap the stem at the crown (leaving the broken half of the stem inside the crown). If you feel significant resistance, heat the stem up a bit where it mates at the crown- This will soften any glue present, and should help in the crown removal. Best of luck...
  4. Not unless ol' Woody is Japanese! The past few years, we've seen a lot of change and innovation with the reps we have now- Mostly in the right direction, minus the QC problems that seem to remain static, if not declining at times. The diverse offerings amongst brands has been quite welcomed, though I do hope the manufacturers and factories continue to progress forward with other brands and makes. It's great to have a well rounded collection with a little bit of everything
  5. Actually, I picked mine up from other sources, and had them tested on my own But my AP and PP are exactly the same as what TTK sells... And, speaking of submerging watches underwater... About to hit the pool for an early morning swim with the kids. It's been a while since I've worn my 16610 frankenstein, so it's time to give it a little attention...
  6. FasTTaP- The RO Jumbo is 38.7mm in diameter- And that one wears more like a 40mm - 42mm watch (very similar to the Nautilus in feel and appearance). If you're concerned about size, the 36mm might be the better choice
  7. Was watching the Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno last night and noticed Tom Arnold was flashing around his PAM 113 quite a lot...
  8. One of the best reps out there, in my opinion! Fit, quality, attention to detail and finish are in a league beyond the typical rep, and it wears just perfectly on the wrist. Great dial choice BTW, Jeff! The dotted dial may be my next buy to go with my blue dialed Nauti...
  9. The way I see it, you're just starting him off right.
  10. If I may interject briefly on some thoughts of my own as I continue to read along this thread... To me... The variety of flavor and interests on this forum really makes for a truly great atmosphere. The diverse preferences across the board- From the individuals who wants a nice Ikepod or Alain Silberstein, to those who want a nice DJ, Sub or SMP and everything in between allows for discovery of something new that maybe someone hadn't considered before, or has allowed that person to reconsider a watch/brand/design that maybe they had different feelings or perspective on prior. I know that certain aspects of my own personal preferences in watches and design have changed while my basic fundamentals remain the same. I must say that the broad range of interests present have not only influenced my own preferences, but have also allowed me to look at something new (and not just limited to watches) with a much more open mind. Good stuff... And one of the reasons why I enjoy RWG so much. As my pal TwoTone might say... Where people gather, life happens.
  11. I thought that was only for heavy duty/extra load vehicles with a ground weight exceeding 5 tons?
  12. Great collection, and excellent pics! I'd say you've done quite well during your first year
  13. Anton... You're on your way to an EXCELLENT start! As for the case... Don't use an off the shelf rep 16520 as the basis. There are better cases out there (hit me up on PM). As for a gen crown... I can help with that too...
  14. Hey Kruz- T minus 6 days and I'll be wandering into Cellini with this bad mofo on the wrist...
  15. It's always amusing to me that the 'experts' in identifying counterfeits are always pointing out details and characteristics of watches that are out-dated by several years. e.g. citing replica 16610 Subs to have a 60 click bezel operation I mean, c'mon... I know they know better than that...
  16. Thanks for the kind words, piratedzeus! To be fair.... A lot of my projects have been slowly built over time, with parts acquired here and there as I find them. A lot of little cash hits don't hurt quite as badly as one big hit all at once. Just requires a little patience, as sometimes the begining of the project simply looks like nothing more than a pile of parts, or worse- Just a single part! Anyways... If you're looking to build a project, budget for both money AND time! Set some acceptable price ranges/figures for what you feel comfortable spending per part, and keep an eye out for those items (buying what meets your criteria at that given time). Keep focus on your goal, and you'll find yourself at the end of it; maybe sooner, maybe later
  17. Has anyone even spoken or exchanged email with FP? I'd be curious to know his side of why he hasn't been responsive or receptive to communication...?
  18. Oh wait... Nevermind. I didn't realize who I was replying to. No thanks...
  19. What do you need? I've got a bunch of DW parts sitting in bins, collecting dust... Depending on what you're looking for, I might be able to help you out (no cost)...
  20. Funny to think that such high quality reps existed 10 - 12 (maybe even more) years ago, huh? Definitely not the cheap junk that most think of when the word 'replica' is brought up.
