  1. Both excellent. 2824 slightly thinner. 2836 can take a day wheel.
  2. Strahan was working a 44mm during his media day interview yesterday. I was looking for a "blue flash" but not surprisingly it was a gen.
  3. Should be bi-directional no-click. Why can't the CG's be modified? Grind away!
  4. There used to be some interesting watches that helped keep score. You can find them NOS on ebay every now and again.
  5. "Looks like a Genta design to me" ...Hey, let's not say things we can't take back!
  6. Duh...That's where the date is on mine...now I see the date at the bottom. Nice.
  7. Great choice...you will love it Where is the minute counter for the chrono on those? If you'll pardon the camera phone shot...
  8. Current consensus seems to be that no AR is closest to gen.
  9. Very nice review. Thanks. Where are you getting a SD like that for $2500?
  10. What do you do for a living HaloArchive?
  11. So if the manufacturer jacks up the price on their eta watch unfairly (Hublot), the rep is better than if the manufacturer treats its customers (more) reasonably? Hmmm. That sounds like a load of hublonium.
  12. Post-its are a good idea. I wrap the tweezers to prevent scratching, grab the actual hand (arm) portion, position it, and then push down (gently) over the post with another implement, like the thick end of a toothpick. Holding it underneath is clever.
  13. Easy...any Rolex. I was opposed to them on principle and thought they were butt ugly to boot. In fact, my avatar photo was intended as a subtle comentary on what a 'real' timepiece should be, as opposed to the current models. But, I started liking the vintage models, tried one, and discovered they look darn good on the wrist. So, I'm a convert.
  14. This is slightly offtopic, but I recently ran across this picture that I like quite well...interesting combo
  15. I don't think the latest offender is fooling very many people here. I posted this not too subtle topic... http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...mp;#entry357972 ..although few picked up on it. Responses to this person fell off precipitously afterward, however, and I had no personal stake to push the matter further. We know who has skills and who doesn't. Much like you (The Zigmeister) must have felt somewhat uncomfortable naming Flav in your posts (I for one assumed it was Joe), it's a bit hard to jump on people explicitly right away without knowing more about them. UB7's endorsement carries negative weight, if any. One or two customers doesn't mean "we" approve of the person. Most of us know about watch modding and repair primarily because of you. BTW, a respected hobbyist, Ubi, showed us amateurs that we could bend the hands. We won't PAY for that level of craftsmanship, however. Cheers.
  16. Hi Stilty, Looks great. Do you still have to bend the minute hand with this movement to clear the dial? There's nothing like the real datewheel. I have a "tuxedo" red/black wheel screaming for use, but it's hard to fit to a 2824 (as you know) which is all I have on hand at the moment. Cheers, Steve.
  17. It has threads but lots of glue as mentioned. I had to really heat it up to get it out.
  18. I think one of the most appealing aspects of the Bond sub in person is how flat/thin it is. I'd be very happy with the crystal you have now. Cheers.
  19. SEVENTY FOUR degrees today in Salt Lake City. Send some of that snow down here. :penguin:
  20. Actually, looking at the fourth picture, I know who it was. Apologies in advance if the seller stole your picture.
