  1. Did the artist formerly known as ________ change his name back to something close to original???? PS: Zigmeister is much better!! PPS: Did J approve?
  2. Thanks for the informative post gio. Although the hockey puck isn't my cup of tea, it's nice to see they keep improving it
  3. Ok: I miss it already ...nothing beats a superdome
  4. Nice to meet you and welcome aboard. There's lots to learn here, and some very knowledgeable folks too. Have fun searching! JJ
  5. Great work Avitt! Thank you for taking the time to share this process with everyone.
  6. Wow, outstanding job and gorgeous piece. Congrats to builder and owner! Wear it well
  7. Thanks everyone on your comments. I forgot to mention that another very motivating factor was my admiration for what WD has taught me about the gen movements, which inspired me to learn more about what truly makes these watches worth so much. In today's electronic age, observing manufacturer's continued perfection of the age old craft of mechanical movements definitely helped me decide to make the purchase. Finally, if it wasn't for my membership here at RWG, I would never have learned what I have, or taken the baby steps with reps to frankens to finally buying a brand new gen. Stilty and Stephane, I took the trip over to Wempe, but unfortunately they would not budge lower than list price of the Milgauss. I was able to find a AD locally that gave me a significant discount, and shipped the watch to save even more. I'll take some good close-ups and post up as soon as I pick up the watch.
  8. Here's another rip-off artist: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ME:B:SS:US:1123 Who can guess how many things wrong with the "727" movement? lol
  9. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ME:B:SS:US:1123 These bastards have no shame, that thing is not even close
  10. The Heart of the Matter, Rolex & the Parachrom Blu hairspring (Borrowed from TZ) "The hairspring is the most overlooked of all watch components; like the human heart, it continues, unbidden and unseen, its vital role. Not only do its oscillations have to be precisely regular, they have to be so in the most hostile of environments; the human hand and wrist are the parts of the body which undergo the most variation in position and temperature (think about it, what other part of your body goes in the freezer?). Yet we expect microscopic accuracy from a modern watch, an accuracy of 1 second per day is equivalent to hitting a 1 inch bull
  11. Appears to be a correct replacement dial
  12. I don't get it. Who the hell is doing the complaining? PS: FYI, lots of members here are also members of gen forums, drive 100+k cars, etc. The reps are merely a hobby for many of us here. PPS: Nothing beats a gen
  13. Congrats on your purchase Stilty, that is a beautiful and very classy watch. I'm sure it is something that will last a lifetime and become a wonderful gift for your children one day.
  14. Stick around awhile and use the search function. Your first mistake is using super glue. Second, out of the box reps are pretty low quality, so mentioning the dealer is not even worth the time it took you to type it. Spend a half hour or so and search what Hank told you above. That's a good start (assuming you have a modern rep)
  15. The movement is not even close
  16. Beautiful job Chief, wear them well!
  17. Stilty, the lovely Mrs. Stilty, and myself took a little tour through Manhattan's watch district today. Right after leaving Wempe on 5th Avenue, we strolled across the street to the Omega boutique. Wow, what a classy place that was. Besides being treated like royalty, a Swiss gentleman patiently took the time to thoroughly explain the latest in Omega's technology to us. Besides Omega's in-house co-axial escapement movement, what really blew me away was having a first hand look at their incredible central tourbillon skeleton. Check it out, this flying tourbillon was a sight to behold in person: Here's an interesting link on the movement: http://omega.watchprosite.com/show-nblog.post/ti-363927/
