  1. I think tourbillons are technically interesting, but, as a rule, I do not like to see them on a dial face. Better hidden on the backside or within the case.
  2. Yes, I suspect that would do the trick.....unless you missed of course.
  3. Any web URL (address) that begins with 'https' (note the 's') instead of 'http' is encrypted, which means the characters you type into the page are coded in such a way that they cannot be read by someone who may have hacked in between you & the website. This helps to protect your personal information.
  4. Overall, the new layout looks nice, but I would prefer if pinned articles on the index pages appeared (more) differently than the new content.
  5. You guys with your lever-action plinkers...... If you really want to 'test' a watch properly, you need a 12-ga or, at least, a .30-06. And good to see you chambering around these parts again, TJ!
  6. I cannot believe no one started the Monday Wristies.......... Wearing my Aryan 'Master today on this flat-top-3 day
  7. If you tend to follow current fashions in the way you dress, go modern. If your style of dress is more classic, go vintage.
  8. Still amazing to see how nice the MBWs are & the fact that they accept some gen parts ices the cake.
  9. Nice composition. I like the way the colors are picked up & reflected in the edge of the bezel. Nice. These 'steel & wood' pics always draw my attention & are a nice way to end the work week.
  10. Because, like nearly all rep/aftermarket watch-related components, they are used/unserviced & put together (by non-watchmakers) in peoples' homes, on the streets, in alleys or wherever the 'factory' is located, & there is little or no QC.
  11. If there is a 7750 inside, yes. By the way, I do not think the dial is bad at all. But the subdials on most non-Newman aftermarket dials are slightly too large, which is their principal give-away. But they do vary. I cannot point you to any specific dials or sellers, but some dials do have more accurately sized subdials. You just have to look around. 2nd after that is the glossy appearance of the subdials (the gen dials are completely matte).
  12. Sometimes, I wonder if you may have exceeded the originals.
  13. Most people want to replace the missing paint in their bezels. But if you really want to remove it, just use mineral spirits or a rag moistened (not dripping wet) with paint remover. Either way, as you wear the watch, the paint will wear away naturally all by itself, which always looks more natural than removing it artificially.
  14. I would not touch the bezel, but the case could use a bit of work to give it that 'naturally' worn look. Gen xtal is always nice (the beveled versions give the Daytona a nice, jewel-like quality), but it is a relatively high cost item that offers relatively little in return since many gens have aftermarket xtals. I would also consider a gen bracelet (62xx Daytonas on straps never look as good to me as they do on gen bracelets) &/or a better dial (subdials a bit too close to markers vs gen dial).
  15. I love those Cola-Mariners (preferably on an Oyster bracelet). I think Rolex really missed the boat by not making these.
