  1. Rolex has made some big moves in the past few years, after years and years of being criticized by watch aficionados as being too staid, dated and not keeping up with the "trends". All this while Rolex SA was selling every watch they produced. So, who knows. If this was 10 years ago, I would say that it would be a better bet on Hell freezing over than Rolex producing a 42mm Sub. But, it isn't 10 years ago, obviously there are more younger, or younger thinking folks in the design department, and who knows what will come out next. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  3. I have bought from them, so no problem. Right now I have a couple of options that I'm working on and this is not a pressing deal. Thanks everyone for your suggestions and advice. Interesting about the hands, the seller listed this as having genuine dial and hands, however you all are telling me that the gen hands will not fit on the A7750? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I recently bought a very nice Tudor Chrono, M2m here, it arrived DOA. I sent it back to the builder, who found a problem, fixed it and it ran for a couple of days and died again. I really believe that it needs a replacement movement, as this one seems to be very unstable. If anyone has an A7750 or an ETA 7750 sitting around that you are not using, I would take it off your hands, as well as being eternally grateful for the help. Several folks here were selling ETA 7750's a while back, but they don't seem to be available any more. Thanks Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. This one is on the way to me, So if I had it here, it's what I would be wearing. Tudor "big block" 94300.
  6. Wearing my everyday MKII Stingray on canvas strap. Strap is pretty dirty now, need to take it off and wash it!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. That is as close to genuine as you can get without buying one at a Rolex AD!! Beautiful watch. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. No matter how nice it looks, it still has the "time bomb" A7750 seconds @6 movement! If they could ever solve the movement problems with the modern Cosmographs and the AP ROO Chronos, it would be a day for rejoicing!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Looks like a WatchNY, not a DW, as the spacing for 110 is correct on this one. Nice bezels if you can get one for around 150-180 USD. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. If you have a homeowners insurance policy, you can get a jewelry and watch rider to your policy. My insurance company offers it, however they require either a sales invoice or an appraisal by a recognized jeweler or watchmaker. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. I would let Matt (mymanmatt) build one using a Rolex Oyster case, gen dial and an ETA movement. Basically it's all gen on the outside except the hands, unless you use Tudor hands, then everything you see is gen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Here is a 16613 that Matt built for me. Aftermarket 18k bezel, genuine insert, dial, crown/tube. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. schumi, you can send him a PM on this forum. He has built several watches for me, and his work is excellent. Matt has been doing this since 1985. Here is my Day/Date that Matt built for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I'm going to go with the ST case, gen dial, insert, crown. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I started out with and IBM PC Jr, way back when. I believe it was 64mb with an add on model to make it 128mb!! I had lots if car passion over the years, but over time, it sort of faded away. One problem is the small town where I live has only "plain vanilla" dealerships, Ford, GM, Honda, Nissan, none of the upscale or luxury brands. No Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar, range Rover, etc. I drove most all if those brands for years, but a few years ago, I realized that the hassle of getting a vehicle serviced in a city over 100 miles away, while trying to hold down a full time contract position, was becoming more and more frustrating. The convenience of a good Ford Lincoln dealership right down the street from my hospital overshadowed the thrill of driving a Mercedes or Range Rover. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Nice watch, I think!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. So true, and real bling ain't cheap!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  19. Have to agree I have had a couple, gave one to my son who is a farmer, it's his everyday watch, and it get's exposed to everything under the sun !! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I may be flamed for this, but I believe that the watch was substantially misrepresented by the seller. It's very difficult to imagine that the movement came loose, although it's possible. The website link was in my estimation a definite deception, why send someone to a website that shows a much better quality watch than what is being sold. I believe that we are going to have to take a much more proactive position as to policing the sales areas. mistakes can happen, but it is incumbent on the seller to represent the watch, strap, part, etc. as accurately as possible. Being a raw nob, you were pretty easy to take advantage of, which is not all your fault. Older more experienced members should try to make sure a new member is aware of the condition of a sales item, not use that as an opportunity to take advantage of their ignorance.
  21. Those cases will accept genuine parts. Some aspects are not 100%, like the crown guards, but the hunter aka are supposed to be gen spec. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I assume you mean watch head. Google "cape cod cloth" great for shining polished metal. Be careful if your watch has a brushes finish, vigorous polishing with a cape cod will remove the brushing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Measure your old insert inner and outer diameter. Make sure then re one is the same. Clark's can fix you up. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. I really don't believe this argument is going to get settled until someone buys one of these, opens it up, posts good quality photos and puts it on a timegrapher to see what the beat is. With all the crazy stuff (movements)coming out of China today, it could be anything!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
