I really like the comfort of the Jubilee. I have to admit, it's an acquired taste! Here is my 6542 on a gen jubilee. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

So true !!!! You would think that someone that was looking for a clasp would be knowledgable about what's real and what's Memorex!! The seller selling the clasp sells a lot of gen stuff, but I don't think he knows much. I bought a gen crown from him a couple of years ago, got a gen crown, but it wasn't the crown I ordered. Sent it back got my money back except for postage both ways. EBay is the Wild, Wild West always proceed with caution!

Looking for members opinion on a customer issue
panerai153 replied to KB's topic in General Discussion
Ken, I believe it is the customers responsibility to ship the bag back so that it arrives in the sane condition as sent. Most businesses here in the states clearly state in their return policies that the item be returned unused and in the sane condition as received. If I sent something back and it arrived in that condition, most sellers would reject it out of hand and return it to me. I believe your offer of 50 dollars is most generous considering the condition of the returned bag. While it is your responsibility to ship the correct item, it's also the customers responsibility to return it as new. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Daniel , Most supply houses have these pins, just need to know the length. I have replaced these before, but I can't remember the length. Ofrei and Startime in the USA and I'm sure cousins in UK has these pins.

First off, look at the hand stack. They should be different, unless you have one of the few GMT reps with the correct hand stack movement. Another tell is setting the GMT hand. On the rep, crown in 2nd position turned one way sets the date, rotate in the opposite direction the GMT HAND "jumps" forward. On the genuine, the crown moves the hour hand, not the GMT hand. Also the date is " quickset" on the rep, quickset was sacrificed on the GMT II.Genuine . AFA telling them apart physically, the fit and finish of the genuine is better, lettering on the dial is crisper. Another factor is they use different steel. I find the gen steel is a "whiter" color, especially if you have them both in bright sunlight. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

That's accurate as well, it looks like from some of the photos, not all were engraved with numbers. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Looks gen, but it's definitely been used and abused!! I think 800€ is too much for the condition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Need end link help for ref. 6426 Oyster Precision
panerai153 replied to errrlend's topic in The Rolex Area
I think it's more important as to how they fit next to the case. No big gaps that allow the end links to try to flip up. I have never really worried about the fit in relation to the lug ends. Correct size springbars are important as well. Too small will have slack and allow the bracelet to move. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
I agree with Freddy, and if your GF is like most women, she isn't going to like that "vintage" look. Most women ( and I'm painting with a broad brush here) like watches that are nice and new looking. They don't all have to have all the bling, with diamond bezels and MOP dials, but they don't want something that looks like you bought for 2 dollars at a flea market. So NOS or refinished dial, same with the hands, nice polished case, good quality strap and you should be good to go. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I prefer the old "big crowns" on S/S bracelets, but if you are going to go with something else, why not what James Bond wore on his "big crown"? I have a couple of these, the MKII Kingston is not mine, but mine is identical. These straps came from a guy who sells over on WatchUSeek under the name aliasrichmond. He also sells on EBay as aliasmarlow. Great straps and just the ticket for a 6538. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I would concur with the folks who said to keep the gen service dial. However, if you just cannot stand that dial, then by all means get a good refinished dual, keep the old one and should you decide to sell it later, replace the service dial and you are good to go. Were the hands replaced as well when the service dial was installed? So you have a lumi service dial, and lumi hands? If you replace the dial with a refinished tritium, won't your hands be mismatched? I would write refinished dial on the back of the dial, but not on the Caseback. When you replace the refinished dial /hands with the service dial/hands, it won't be refinished, and writing that on the Caseback will just cause complications and questions down the road. If it were me, if I decided to sell it, I would put the original service dial/hands back on it and sell it, then sell the refinished dial/ hands separately. That way you can sell it on any if the genuine sales forums, and not have any drama. Could you post a photo of your watch? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Dealers might by possibly be located in other countries, but these watches all come from China. Use the dealers here and save yourself some grief. Lots of the scam sites use photos of genuine watches lifted off the internet, so they will always look good, but what you see is definitely NOT what you get!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Wish someone would offer the insert/bezel that WatchNY offers in gold. The DW Gold Daytona 6263 could sure use a better bezel. I even thought about buying one of the SS ones and trying to get the insert off without breaking it then transferring it to the Gold bezel. Where is demesys located? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

What do you think of this Ralph Lauren Time Piece?
panerai153 replied to droptopman's topic in General Discussion
Here is another problem with these genuine "branded" watches, they depreciate like crazy. If you go to forums like WUS and search for any brand that isn't considered a popular brand or is obscure, you will see practically brand new watches selling for 60+ % of the MSRP. So unless you are in love with it and plan to keep it forever, I would stay away. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
