  1. That's a beautiful watch Mr. D. Great job.
  2. Matt is the man!! He is the best when it comes to Datejusts and DayDates.
  3. I know, but a lot of owners have changed to the 93150 for security. Also there was a discussion on the Rolex forum about substituting 580 end links for the 589, because of the scarcity and cost of the 589's. I'm trying to get by on the cheap, as I don't want to spend a thousand dollars on a bracelet for a 500 dollar watch. Another consideration, I already have a gen 93150 clasp and gen links for one side of a bracelet. Got these off the Vintage Rolex Market several years ago with a bunch of bracelet parts.

  6. You are right. Probably the best, outside of a select few that got Higho's great case! or those that went all out and built one with phong, yuki or Ming Quy cases, are the old MBW 1680's and they were not correct, as MBW used a 5513 case for the 1680's. Dial openings are different, so to build one using a gen dial, you have to alter the case or shave the dial. If you can find and old MBW though, they take Gen parts. Drop in a gen insert/pearl, crystal. Crown and a 2846 slow beat movement and you have a pretty nice sub. Just not anything much "off the shelf" AFAIK. Several years ago, there were a lot of folks here building and modding 1680's. They seemed to have dropped off the radar. Most of the interest now seems to be these new clunky, ceramic insert subs!!Good luck
  7. Here's mine!! MBW case, caseback and bezel, mystery dial, gen hands, movement, DW, crown/tube, insert, pearl, T-39, endlinks & bracelet, put together by the one and only Ziggy!!
  8. guys I just bought a nice Tudor chrono here on the sales forum. The seller is including bracelet which he says he could never attach, primarily because it's a SEL modern bracelet and it doesn't line up with the lugholes. So I'm looking for a bracelet to use. I went through all my parts, but all I could find was a cheap junk 93150 that uses cotter pins to hold the adjustable links together. I have a gen 93150 clasp, but no links!! Anyone got a spare decent 93150 laying around that they might part with, or any advice as to who has pretty decent 93150's for sale? I went to phong's website and he has a 20mm Fliplock bracelet with no description and a price of 200.00 USD, Yuki has a 93150 for around 75.00 USD. Anyone have any experience with these, and will either/neither accept a regular Rolex springbar. Thanks in advance.
  9. I really like my Heroic 18, but it's 47mm, so it's probably as big as the Bronzo.
  10. Very nice! I saw this one in your response to the person who was looking for a Bronze watch. I could live with the 3 atmos, as I would wear this one as a work watch, only need it to be water resistant enough for hand washing. Might start looking on some of the genuine watch sales forums for a "gently used" one.
  11. It is pretty "Busy". For some reason, Blue dial watches have never stuck around long with me. Quite a few gen Blue dials, and out of all of them, the only ones that have survived the cut are my Franken 16613 and my gen Tudor 9411/0 Snowflake, and neither of them get a lot of wrist time. 12. I have had the same problem with Natalie(NDT), I was trying to buy some things from them about 6-8 months ago, my login didn't work, I emailed them several times and never got a reply. My premise is if you don't have the common courtesy to respond to an email, them obviously you aren't interested in my business. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Just went to their website, they are a distributor located in Slovakia. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. They are more than likely legit, go to the LumTec website and see if they are listed as the European distributor as they claim. If you are in the USA, figure out what the watch cost is plus tax plus shipping within the USA, then see what the watch from the EU with shipping, plus you will need to figure in some customs duty, as they are shipping a genuine watch, and it will be sent insured and declared at full value. Companies like FEDEX, DHL and UPS have in house customs clearing, so you may well receive your watch and then get a bill from them for customs "handling charge+ duty. Probably figure on another 35-50 USD to the total. Also if you use PayPal, their exchange rate is going to be worse than what the daily exchange rate is. When you take all of this into consideration, it may well be cheaper to buy it directly from LumTec in the USA. Also, you can go to WatchUseek go to the dive watch forum and search there for this company or ask those guys if it's a legit company. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Here is a link to a New York Times video that explains a little about the "BUK system. http://www.nytimes.com/video/world/europe/100000003010629/how-the-buk-missile-system-works.html
  16. Personally, I would look at the UN Dual time The first one is the newer model, 42mm . Second is the older Dual time GMT +/- San Marcos. I owned this one, sold it several years ago, and regretted it ever since
  17. The problem is the "BUK" launcher normally is connected to another vehicle that has more sophisticated Radar as well as the technology to "see" the transponder codes, altitude, and identifiers on the radar screen. This is also set up so that if the radar locks on a non military aircraft, it will not allow the launch unless it is manually overridden. Unfortunately, the "BUK" that allegedly shot down the Malaysia flight did not have the Radar vehicle, only the launch vehicle. That Radar only "sees" a Ping, no information. When it locks on, and the launch is initiated, it doesn't know what the aircraft is, it's just and object in the sky. I have kept up with all the goings on in Ukraine since the onset. I have a vested interest as my wife is from Ukraine, has a family there, property and many friends. She is getting first hand info, but she told me that the Russian propaganda machine is spinning such incredible stories and lies, it's unbelievable. Although the US and Ukrainian governments don't have a "smoking gun" they have tons of circumstantial evidence that it was shot down by a launcher supplied by Russia to the separation it's in Eastern Ukraine. They had already shot down a Ukrainian military transport flying at around 22,000 feet a couple of days before. They probably thought the airliner was another Ukraine military plane, shot it down, bragged about it, and then a very short time later realized their mistake, then the denials and story spinning went into high gear. 18. Problem is when you are on vacation, you usually don't have access to your tools, rice, containers, etc, unless you make a trip to a local grocery, get a bag of rice and a cheap plastic container. Like MOB, I don't wear my reps swimming, snorkeling or diving. When we go on a beach vacation or cruise, I usually take a rep or two for evenings and non water related activities, plus a gen diver for the water stuff. Last December we went to Atlantis in the Bahamas for a meeting/ vacation. I took my AP ROO Diver FC for everyday wear, my franken 16613 for evenings and my Ocean7 LM7 Ploprof homage for beach and diving. Worked out great, no worries. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Those Brady straps look really nice. I just looked at them about 30 minutes ago, but they are actually leather that's embossed to look like sailcloth, and where I live leather straps are not practical for the summer. Very hot and humid. For a 'dress diver" like the new BP FF, they would look nice and the price is right!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. If you aren't sure about the water resistance, best to leave it on dry land, but if you insist, try it out in a fresh water pool first. Better to have a flood from fresh water than salt water. Salt water will do way more damage than fresh. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Rainy day as well here in the Deep South. Wearing my MKII Stingray today. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. There are several guys making canvas straps, some have leather backing, others are all Canvas. Drew straps makes them, all are custom, so you pick the thread color, length, type of keepers. Another one is Micah Straps, same deal, last is Dustin Ross, N80 straps. Both the Drew and N80 straps are around 100.00 USD, the Micah is close to 200.00 USD. Here is my MKII Stingray on a Drew Canvas. I bought this strap used, it has a steel NATO buckle and steel NATO keepers, which would not be my choice if I were buying one new. Probably looks OK on this watch though. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Wearing this one around the yard, working outside. This one to work. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. Talk to Matt about the case choice for your 16613. I used a ST case for mine. Matt told me that he didn't particularly like those cases, but mine turned out great. Only problem they are sterile cases, no engraving at all. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  25. A, when he say's check stock, he isn't kidding. Mike has more watches than a Tourneau store!!! That one may be available in Orange, I know the Seiko Monster line has orange dials. Check this one SNZF19K Seiko Orange dial. Also comes in yellow!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
