Wow, an incredible build AJ! What a beauty. -
You know when you wear a rep into an AD, well, I may have just inadvertently commited the forum version of this particular faux pas With that said, I will post my pictures on the appropriate forum where they will be appreciated, not that anyone noticed or anything My New Gen Carrera clasp showed up in the mail yesterday, I quickly fitted it to the watch and it's back on the bracelet, I went on a rant a couple months ago when this watch arrived and the clasp failed within 20min of strapping it to my wrist. It is now on a bracelet and I am in love with this watch.

There are some pretty good Reps out there but for the most part does it matter? I can wear my 116610 Submariner next to someone wearing a 16610 or even a gen 116610 and 95/100 of them would not be able to spot that mine was a rep. Were I to swear up and down that mine was genuine, any differences they were able to spot would likely just make them wonder if theirs was a replica, and this is an out of the box, goodish Rep, not even a super rep. Someone mentioned PAM's, if somebody can spot your 111 as a fake while its on your wrist or in their hands then they are either a member of this forum or they personally designed the watch for Panerai. If you show the average person your 21j TAG Heuer Carrera with non functioning chrono they won't know it's a rep. I know because I showed my boss an early rep that I had purchased and he said, how can you tell that it's a fake? are you sure it's fake? To answer tha OP's actual question though, in my experience, my PAM 111 is the ultimate rep that I own and I own it because I think it might be the ultimate rep. It's level of accuracy to brand recognition/pervasiveness ratio is through the roof. No one where I am from has ever even seen a Panerai in person so for them it's 100% gen.

Carrera Cal. 1887 for today
-
The watch is a Carrera CV2010 and I actually just received mine in the mail. The replica of this watch is great, minor tells on the dial and with the movement, all in all though, it's a high, high grade replica. The movement in the top quality versions is the A7750 which is mechanically identical to the Cal. 16 movement that TAG Heuer uses in the watch they sell, the differences are in the older style rotor that the rep has and the blued movement screws which the Cal. 16 movement does not have. If you're looking for a TAG Heuer rep, this is a great place to start as the CV2010 is, in my opinion, one of the most perfect modern chronograph designs to come out of any swiss brand in the last decade, it's almost perfect. Here are a couple of pictures of my replica, see if you can spot the tells, if not, I'm sure someone will point them out to you. I swapped the old 7750 rotor out for the newer Cal. 16 rotor that TAG Heuer has used since ~2008.

He can pick up a Seamaster for $200 on amazon? I'll take 10! My Tissot PRS516 is always assumed to cost more than my Speedy and Cal. 1887 due to size and trendy styling and if I owned a Nixon or Fossil (gave the Fossil to a coworker) they would also garner far more attention than any of my higher end watches or even my reps.

The Carrera is a great rep but the 1887 has not been done very well yet. I definitely recommend the Carrera CV2A10 (day date) I also recommend the Carrera CV2010 which in my opinion is one the best modern chrono designs on the market I must say, you do have great taste in watches, the Carrera line is fantastic.

So today was no different than any other day. By that I mean I was asked if I would be getting a smart watch, cause I like watches and that's a watch. Another one that comes up fairly regularly - "I have a nice watch but I don't wear it much, it's a Fossil and it was like $200 I should show it to you sometime." While wearing a Cal. 1887 Carrera a coworker said "You like watches huh, check this out." I just looked over at his watch and said "yeah, that's pretty nice" it wasn't though, it was some 50+mm Nixon in gold and it was not nice. The assumption being that 55mm Nixon > 41mm Carrera I'm starting to get the feeling that people really don't understand my interest in watches. Does anyone else get questions like this? Do people expect you guys to rush out and drop your cash on an iWatch? Do they show you their 55mm monstrosity of a centre running seconds chronograph wondering why someone who likes watches is wearing such a small watch? I mean can't you afford a big watch?

The 6R15C is, I believe, the movement that Invicta uses as the NH35A, this is a great movement and both of my Invictas run wonderfully. Now, if only either of them looked this good, that is a beautiful piece! -
