  1. Some creative solutions that are arguably fraught with peril. Like my dad always said, use the right tool for the job. In this case, you should get a proper 29.5mm oyster tool and a case holder properly clamped to a workbench. This is a set I keep at the office:
  2. Yeah. That movement screw is really pissing me off. It's always something. I'm just happy that you are happy. We are in the final stretch at least, after a couple of months of waiting. Matching the lume of the hands to match the dial was a bit of a challenge (you do not want to see the test dials I use to experiment with different mixtures for the no glow lume). Still need to cut the stem for the crown as well. Hopefully all complete by next week.
  3. A kind gesture indeed Beach. Good luck to all those that participate.
  4. cc.. that insert is just crazy... never ceases to amaze me how ridiculously fat the the fonts are..
  5. Well if it had 12 links originally, you should be ok unless you have wrists like Sasquatch.
  6. Michael warned it might take 2 months, but I only waited 3 weeks
  7. Cc. "A little cash.."?? Lol That my friend, is beautiful. Love it. Congrats
  8. We are not worthy... thank you for this small glimpse from the Patekosphere.... I'm feeling a touch faint
  9. Well this is sad yet disturbing. But I guess there are lots of issues with shoddy work from less-than-competant modders via PM's and what not. For noobs, it can be tough to navigate who can be trusted and who can't, so holistically, I see the challenge for rep forum administrators. Not to work Mikey.. your reputation speaks for itself and those seeking quality work will find you.
  10. Just received my 7206 bracelet that I sent to CWR (Michael Young @ Classic Watch Repair) in HK. His little shop of elves do a great job. When I bought this bracelet a year ago, it had some reasonable stretch in it. Not ridiculous, but stretched nonetheless. Now it's practically NOS. If you have a vintage bracelet that you're thinking of sending him, depending on the stretch, the finished product can be about 1 link shorter. He can add a link for you at additional cost. I ve dealt with MY several times and his bracelet repair is excellent and well worth the $200. I will be sending him my 6636 next.
  11. looks like RWI is cracking down on "unauthorized" modders/watchsmiths. SSteel is a key example. what a shame.
  12. Great photos as always ubi. what dial was used in the 6200?
  13. Oh my. My first tool kit came from him. Part of the reason I'm involved in watch building. My thoughts are with his family and friends.
  14. Are you peeking into my boudoir again? Perv.
  15. I believe (gen) 16610 and 116610's dials are the same size..... 27.3mm if I recall correctly. So yes, pretty sure a noob, BP, and of course gen subC dials would fit in the TC cases
  16. Finally finished off a back-log of work!
  17. ^^^ what a shot ! ^^^^ You can clearly see the gilt negative relief. And those gen hands are spectacular! And the insert is ok too .
  18. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Yeah. It's ok. . Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
