  1. An emotional evening here in Central London last night with the people supporting the Clap For Carers campaign. Thousands of people countrywide out the front of their houses, clapping and cheering in unison in support of our health service staff. Great support & a welcome relief from all the negativity at the moment!
  2. The jewel that had came out is called an end stone. Be very careful, there are at least 2 separate pieces (possible 3) that looks to be held together by old oil. 1.Cap jewel 2. setting jewel 3. captive spring. You need to very, very carefully stop the balance rotation (it can be done whilst moving but is trickier) a small piece of rodico or similar can be used) Now, on the plate where that jewel has came out is the circular 'setting' that has a tiny notch. you have to carefully drop the jewel into place and then feed the 3 legs of that 3 prong captive spring into that cutout notch, rotating as you go until all 3 legs are in place (there is a tiny groove in the plate) My advice is to do this under some clear cling film and form a tiny circular piece of wood with a flat bottom to help you keep pressure on the spring and rotate at the same time. Very tricky...Good luck! EDIT: In your first video, you can see the cutout notch at the 12 o'clock position.
  3. What were they thinking? https://www.rolex.com/?ef_id=Cj0KCQjw9tbzBRDVARIsAMBplx8uAI9euLyIluJ3jkSgbM1stfY5UNHvBmGP8HXCi_QIrAqM0wUqV3oaAmWBEALw_wcB:G:s&s_kwcid=AL!141!3!407365018971!e!!g!!rolex I hate everything about it from crowding a dial that was always so simplistic to the alternating sizes of the hour markings to the 2 tone seconds hand. It's f*ckery in every way. Rant over...
  4. All of the off the shelf vintage Daytona's are rubbish. The only 2 worthwhile options are... A. Lookout for an old 7750 based DW Daytona to come up for sale. B, Sell a kidney and pick up a V72 based Daytona. Both types come up for sale occasionally and range from 'not cheap' through to 'big money' If you want a good off the shelf Daytona then go for a modern model.
  5. Welcome! None of them would be 'the best' they are all high end replicas. No one, unless they were an expert with a loupe at hand would be able to tell you are wearing a fake. The one thing that lets other people know you are wearing a fake is...You If that's the model you like, buy any version. Be warned though, Chinese movements are very hit and miss with reliability. Some go for years, some arrive dead. Getting any type of refund, repair OR future servicing on that watch is going to be a massive headache. Consider these things very carefully before jumping in. You can get a very good quality (Seiko etc) mechanical watch, with guarantee and virtually bomb-proof movement for much less than these reps. You'll also have access to many, many servicing routes on this in the future (all mechanical watches will need servicing, eventually) I haven't bought a rep for at least 3 years now, overpriced...way overpriced!
  6. They are normally just plastic pegs in the ring that press into holes in the movement mainplate. Friction fit. I have come across fairly tight ones. Just a case of a small screw driver in between the plate and ring and gradually work around the pegs prising them apart. If you get stuck, a couple of pictures will help us along...
  7. No one has and no one ever will. Don't waste your time.
  8. What happened to the one you have? I could be in the market for spares Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Apologies. Getting mixed up with the 1901 The movement I linked to is correct Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. You’re watch has 3 registers but only 2 work. 6 o’clock position is fake. Here it is at cousins Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Available to buy from Cousins UK. It's actually a TY1902
  12. No idea? I've never had the pleasure of a Venus 175 on my bench. If one ever turns up it will be a mission of mine to test out compatibility what with the scarcity of gen Venus parts!
  13. The Seagull ST (TY) 1901 is 2 registers. The Seagull ST (TY) 1902 & 1903 are both 3 registers. They differ in that the 1902 has 30 minute counter @ 3, 12 hour counter @ 6 & seconds @ 9. The 1903 has a 24 hour counter @ 6. The other 2 subdials are the same as the 1902. The 1901 is not a one-for-one copy of the Venus 175. Seagull purchased the tooling of the Venus 175 and it is very similar but not one-for-one. It is close though! And a very good movement. Here's a great video of a service on one (in 6 parts) I followed this video the first time I serviced a Seagull 1901, it served me well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EI3T-IR3AgM So, to answer your questions. If it's 2 registers then it's a ST(TY)1901. I insert 'TY' because that is its official calibre designation TY1902. It is a copy of the Venus 175. Seagull are the only company making this movement. I have found them to be well made, reliable and very accurate. As was said above, it's more than likely something has moved and is causing some friction somewhere. Case, dial, hands? If all else fails, Cousins UK sell the movement. Good luck.
  14. When I did the 1520 it was the Duoshock KIF springs that got me wobbling, until I learn't how to handle them. I learnt the hard way by breaking the leg on one. If you haven't done them or need to know how, let us know.
  15. You'll find your inbox full of offers from vultures! Nice watch, it will look beautiful with a nicely aged 6542 bezel on. Good luck with your search!
  16. Happy new year guys & girls! May all your reps be A+++ one to ones
  17. Sticking with 2.4's. No sign of ice here...yet!
  18. The best policy is to send the money as the others have and you won't hear from me again. Thanks guys 2006 & 2013 were very lucrative years for me. Hoping that 2020 will be just as good❤️
  19. Thanks, I received the money and you will hear no more from me...Unless you're a naughty boy again.
  20. An option? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Watch-Hands-IWC-3777-Pilot-Valjoux-Cal-7750-Chrono-6-Set-Luminous/292942996105?hash=item4434c36289:g:JyMAAOSwRNhbqphg
  21. I'd have to reject that based purely on the centre seconds hand not reseting to 12 correctly😋 So this started as a 116520, removed the crown guards, fitted pump pushers. Butchered a 4130, printed up a plastic looking dial and probably charged a butt clenching amount for it. Money just can't buy class.
  22. Yes, there would be a redundant setting position. Only way around it would be to swap in a no date setting lever (if it exists?)
  23. Questions I would ask Trusty. Ask for a 10 second minimum timegrapher reading in 4 positions before the service. Same after service. Dial up, dial down, pendant up, pendant down. Ask if mainspring is replaced with a decent (Swiss) one. Ask if cap jewels are removed, cleaned and lubricated. Ask what lubricants are used. Moebius lubricants are pretty standard with decent watchmakers. If any of these conditions are not met, don't waste your money.
