Neat touch. It wasn't until I saw your message that I realised what had happened.

Looking through one of my boxes for lesser worn watches I rediscovered my late fathers old Seiko. I bought it for him when I was somewhere between 10-12 years old. It was present; birthday or Christmas I guess. It was over 30 years ago and probably closer to 40. He wore it as 'best' and cherished it as it came from his only son. When he passed away it was given to me. There's no great cash value but the sentimental value is priceless. What are others stories of handed down watches?

Looking for good dealers in Hong Kong :-)

Just use the TD's. I don't think that they'll do a drop in service anyway. They certainly don't have shops. Anywhere you can look at the merchandise is likely to be a tourist area selling poor quality fake watches. Take Turkey and their 'genuine fake' shops or Canal St, these are both well known for junk. Stick to the TD's. -

I think it could be the crystal gasket rather than the crystal itself that is causing the crystal to sit too high. I've been reading up on one of my projects: a PO bezel on a Seamaster Pro case. Some (gens) need a PO gasket to get the height right. I did have a rep 2254 Seamaster with a PO crystal and that sat high - like yours. I never dismantled it though so can't say for sure if it was the gasket or the crystal.

Since yesterday my posts seem to be repeated. When I write something, it appears twice within the same post...... What's happening? Come on crew send out the Power Rangers.

I have a red Black Bay and the quality is great. In general, the differences between V1, V2 etc are very small. Occasionally there is a glaring error that's fixed but for the most part it's a sales pitch to sell more reps. If you want a black Black Bay pick your TD and go for it as they source them from the same places. Only caveat is if there are different rep factories involved. I don't know enough about the black version. Do your research on the forms and establish if there are different factories making them. I have a red Black Bay and the quality is great.
