  1. Agreed, I could build a pretty nice race car for that kind of money or buy a pretty nice vintage Corvette.
  2. LOL, when I first saw this posted I was mesmerized by the dial and hands and have looked at it multiple times. Never even noticed the bracelet. Actually contemplated selling off my collection and making a run at it. Even in my warped mind, I cannot justify spending that much on one watch, she is a beauty though and my birth year.
  3. Just happen to be wearing my 66 7206 today.
  4. Awesome journey and review. What a great story. Thanks for sharing and congrats on the deep blue.
  5. Thank you, These wear great. Sit nice on the wrist, light and comfortable. Easy to put together with one of JMB's case sets. No date or rotating bezel to worry about. Can be done on a moderate budget depending on parts used. I opted for some gen goodies, but not necessary to make a really nice build. Plenty of builds threads here. If you cannot find one that is built for sale, develop a build plan and find a competent watchsmith to put it together for you.
  6. Very nice piece. I dig the simplistic dial. Great choice in straps...I think I have that one too
  7. People do not want to mess with RWG members, our resident Predator is one the case.
  8. I would guess this might be someone that knows us. Stone contacted me this morning about this and I contacted Matt. Seems a little too "knowledgeable" to just be random but who knows. Definitely scary to get an email from a friend who you deal with regularly. Be an easy trap to fall into.
  9. This looks great. Dial and hands are outstanding. Exceptional work here. Congratulations on the outcome [emoji322]
  10. See a couple 1016's this morning. I will continue that trend.
  11. Thoughts and prayers for France. Hard to put into words my thoughts about attacking innocent civilians without being offensive.
  12. I was the same way. Just thought they were OK, not something I really thought about buying. Last time I was at the AD I was trying to love a modern Rolex but ended up liking the Tudors better. The thing that makes the BB nice is the way it wears. The case back is recessed so it sits flat on the wrist and is super comfy like my gen 1675. So out of all the watches I tried on that day the BB fit the best. I really went in there to buy a GMT BLNR and in the end the watches left on the tray were the Pelagos, BBR and the BLNR. I walked out of the store that day but when the black insert came out, bought one a couple of days later. I really like it. Makes for a great daily beater.
  13. Nice, good luck on the fit. Once you get this far in, there is no getting out. Always cool seeing a build like this come together. Look forward to some pics of the finished product soon.
  14. Trying the BB on the fabric strap. Wears nice and comfortable.
  15. Like others have stated, Seiko, Steinhart or maybe a used Hamilton or Glashutte. If you shop well, you can find a really nice gen watch in your budget. Plenty of brand new Seiko automatics in your price range.
