How do you like the Ulysses Nardin El Toro?
GenTLe replied to docdoowop's topic in General Discussion
The OP attached one is not that bad, but jesus... What the heck is this below? I'd prefer to cut away my hand to avoid its use -

Probably it's a BP refurbished ETA. Post here some (good!) picture of the watch movement (to open the back case simply made a ball of duct tape with the sticky part outside, press it on the backside and keeping it pressed rotate counterclockwise) with the counterweight in different position. Anyway make it serviced, in both case, if it's an ETA or an ETA asian clone (a2824 or 2836) the gen eta parts will fit and it will be fixed. By good picture I mean at least something like this (maybe with a better focus):

In London is even worse, but ok, it's London

Well, here it's a lot different, unfortunately. The houses are all concrete and bricks (and it takes at least 1 year for the involved companies to fully finish one), also we're plenty of laws about the energy/water saving and finally there's not so much space in our country, so places like that are all already taken from at least 2 centuries Now we have Americans (Clooney on Como lake), Russians and Englishes (Sting in Tuscany) here buying places with such views Just consider that in my area (which is a 10000 people town 30km from Milan - and in IT 30km to go to work is already a medium/long distance) the square meter (nearly 11square foot) cost for a FLAT is 3400$, and the garden are not less than 550$/m2. In Milan, and not in the center, a 1200sq feet flat (with no private garden and no garage for the car) would cost not less then 480k$...

Omega Seamaster PO LiquidMetal from Noob - Short review
GenTLe replied to GenTLe's topic in The Omega Area
Thanks! It's a good one, Pro-hunter version, sourced from TrustyTime, paid for the A2836 and instead got a gen ETA inside Took away the PVD bracelet as I prefer it with a Nato strap. The Cartier instead needs some work: 1st AR coating and 2nd relume (this last thing I'll do by my self at some point). Now waiting for a Gran Carrera Cal 36 and (hopefully) an IWC St. Exupery my 2006 (like this http://iwmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/The-2006-special-limited-edition-IWC-Pilots-Watch-Chrono-Automatic-Edition-Antoine-de-Saint-Exupery.jpg ) -
WTF guys, where's your Ferrari? I don't know about USA, but here in IT to have such a garden you have to be seriously wealthy =:-o Here the an average salary is around 25/26k$/year (for a standard clerk, 21.2k for a worker), and a house with such a garden and view would cost not less than 750k$, totally impossible for a normal-job person

Very very nice!!! How do you do with mosquitoes? I'd put a couple of these as "guardians"

Hi Gents, is there anyone tall around 180cm (5.91 ft), with a wrist with a circumference of around 19cm (7,48 in) that could take a picture of his full arm (or even the whole body except the face just for privacy) with a 47mm diameter watch like the bronze pam or the big pilot? Maybe asking for the help of the wife/gfriend... There are a group of 47mm watches that I really like, but I've the feeling that they'll be too big for me... Thanks! GenTLe

If it's not here then it's nowhere: http://www.ttw888.com or http://www.p-cls.com

Thanks Rolexman, always good to get a bit more knowledge. About the date setting time anyway, I'm following it as a general rule: the problem may not be present in the a7750, but surely is in other calibers (like the 2824?), so I stick to it as a general rule in order not to take a watch, forget that it's not an a7750, set the date ad destroy it (like I did with my very 1st "el cheapo" rep)

Hi Gents, just an advise. When I read question like "why they don't assembly them in a clean environment?", I think that most probably who is posing that question don't have an idea about what this means . The clean mounting environment it's not just a clean table. Even skin particles (dandruff) are "dirt" and shouldn't be in a movement. Look below how the gen movement are assembled and thing about that when you ask such question K.r. Hi Ezio (actually, do you know that Ezio is a typical Italian "old style" name?) what I can say about the A7750 (got info reading and reading) it's: Running seconds subdial should by @9 (like in the Panerai, in the TAG, NOT like in the IWC Portuguese or in the Rolex Daytona) and not in other places (the other subdials aren't that important) Avoid, if possible, to hand-wind them. If it's not possible, do it SLOWLY and just until it start runs by itself, then wear it and let the automatic winding to do the rest of the job Never set the date or the day between 21 and 3 (9pm - 3am), if you've to set the date and you're in that interval, change the time to 5pm or 4am, change the day-date, then put it to the correct time. But avoid to set the time counterclockwise If you run the chrono, then reset it by 1st pressing the stop button and then the reset button (never use the reset while it's still running). Reset the chrono when the chrono seconds hand is between 10 and 2, to avoid the risk of misalignment. That's all

Hi NW, just for your info, the cousins of RWG.bz have an internal shop that has products that are normally better quality then the Amazon stuff and quite inexpensive too. Look here (I'm waiting for a 2kg order ): http://shop.homage-watches-guide.com/ Cheers, GenTLe

Hi Gents, apart from Sunny on RWI, is there any other (better if EU based) AR service around? Here there is a dedicated part of the forum but, as also requested there from a user, it should be closed because looks like chieftang is not on the business anymore. Anything else? I'm annoyed like hell from the total lack of AR of my Calibre de Cartier... Tnx, GenTLe

It has been. This stupid man not only was doing other things instead to really take care about the operations, but he also behaved like bastard coward, thinking to save his ass while the ship was still FULL of people trying to escape. He put all our people (Italians) under the shame (like if we're not just enough)... I really hope that he, and his managers will pay HARD for his behavior Just listen to this phone call (there are eng subtitles) between the Cpt. De Falco from Italian dock authority and this coward of Schettino that was already on the nearest island to safe himself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1U-pZ5MXDU.

Secondary (alarm) stem removal, Citizen E210 caliber?
GenTLe replied to sneed12's topic in General Discussion
Hi Sneed, yesterday I tryed to dig into the web for good 45 mins and didn't manage to find anything tech about it (just a bunch of user manuals). Looks like a quite rare movement... Are you sure the black spot next to the alarm stem isn't the good one? -
Hi Guys, does anyone knows about the interchangeability of parts between gen 7750 and A7750? I know that ETA 2824 and its asian clone are practically the same and parts can be exchanged, but I'm not sure about the 7750. I've a Pam 164 that starts to show the 1st symptoms of a problem of handwind (sometimes it loose resistance like if it's jumping some gear teeth) and I'm thinking about the feasibility of its repairing... Thanks! GenTLe
