  1. the 3 is all bent up imo. somethin about it doesnt look right at all. i got one of these for a friend not too long ago and theyre repped fairly well. TT seems to also use pretty crappy cameras sometimes when taking QC pics. i had to keep asking for better pics bc the "submariner" on the dial just looked all fuzzy and beat. after about 3 different tries, it showed up right and it was def just the picture. idk about this one though.. that 3 looks bent or something.
  2. Hrmm. I go to Vegas at least once a year and honestly never felt the need to be loud with clothes or watches. Most of the people I run in to there and my friends who live there seem to be the same way. The people in Vegas who are loaded are extremely low key. I've sat down next to guys who look like dishwashers sitting with a mil+ in checks. With that said, I think a blinged out tool watch is ridiculous. Blinged out watches in general are hideous IMO and they Scream rep. Even if they're real they look fake and cheap to me. To each their own I guess.
  3. take a polishing cloth or a very thin cloth. put it between your finger tips and the bezel. pull up and work your way around the bezel. it should pop up halfway around the watch. then you can push the insert out through the back and glue the new one in. be careful not to bend the bezel while you do this. the other way is take a xacto knife and try to get it between the insert and the bezel. dont put too much heat to it. you could screw up a lot of things by applying too much heat to a watch.
  4. I would reject it. Seems the factory put broken glass all over the watch! Those numbers mean very little when it's only tested in 1 position for 4 seconds Basically, it's the TDs way of proving the watch works and it's the right high beat movement. Plus, they kinda move it around until they get the best rating and snap a pic. Don't even worry about the other numbers.
  5. Prob a submariner. Can't really go wrong with it. Now the problem is which one... 1680, 16800, 16610. (The ceramic does not exist to me )
  6. Yea. The vintage models def need a 702 crown. The giant crown screams rep from a mile away. Great pieces. Tryin to get my hands on a Newman Daytona now too.
  7. It's amazing how great the KH dial looks It almost looks better than the gen IMO. The print (esp perpetual) is crisper. I just need to stop bsing and buy a TC.
  8. That's the best looking cgs on a cartel I've seen. Mine looked like the new sub C crown guards. Short and wide. Took quite a bit of dremel-ing to get them somewhat pointy. If PT ever gets them back in stock, they will sell out FAST. So many people looking for one including me. You could try out the ones intime sells. I'm kinda tempted to. They seem pretty nice. Tall cgs. Decent dial but I have no idea what gen parts it would take. For now, I bought a cheapie cartel to try out modding. Having a lot of fun with it. It's a pretty nice watch for a $100 bucks
  9. theyre pretty much the same movements that come in your rep watches. nothing more, nothing less.
  10. Lol. They claim to have urwerk reps. Def scam
  11. I use a cheapie I found on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-6-Watch-Band-Spring-Bar-Link-Remover-Repair-Tool-/280718164567?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item415c1b4257 Gets the job done. The first one I orderd was like yours. The end was too wide.
  12. I don't think they make reps with eta 7750s. Most ETAs can be bought fairly cheap (new and used). 7750s though are far from cheap. I would never bet on it being in any rep let alone a rep from watcheden.
  13. Buy the faux scree sprint bars. I think they look good and you never have to worry about then stripping
  14. Maybe old mineral crystal? Do you smoke? I had a SMP that got all cloudy like that. Still not sure what happened. I know it was def a mineral crystal though and not sapphire
  15. yea. $650 for just the case is a bit steep.
  16. I don't understand why everyone keeps saying for him to get a TC. TC doesn't make LVs anymore. You can't just pop on a green bezel. The dial and hands are completely different. OP, you should be ok with the purchase from toro. I've never heard of the paint flaking problem but it seems likely. Maybe you should open it up every once in a while and blow away the flakes? If it craps out, a A2836 is fairly cheap to replace.
  17. What exactly are you trying to do? What's been saved? Is the dial messed up? What are the specs of the watch?
  18. $650 for a mbk is pretty standard honestly. They were roughly $500 back when they were plentiful from what I've read. That's about as good as it gets for a 1680 rep though. I like the watch but not enough to spend $650. Like I said, cartel isn't bad. It just needs some work. CG shaping and a 703 crown will have it looking pretty good. RA does do some amazing work and can make the cartel case look damn good by shaving the crown and tube but I don't like shipping reps across borders. If he was in the US, I would have sent my watch to him the day I got it.
  19. I have a cheapie set from harbor freight. Does the trick. For CG reshaping, you should use strips of coarse sand paper. Files are a bit tricky to work with on a curved surface. I tried a dremel for the first time on my 1680. Does the trick but you have to be very careful
  20. You can try intimes 1680. I was very curious about that one. Looks like a cartel one but has the longer crown guards. It also has the right clasp i think. That comes with a low beat eta I believe for $218 I was tempted to order that bc Ryan's a really nice guy but wanted to see if I liked them first. Now I'm in love with them and want PT one to mod
  21. Yea. I got tired of waiting and didn't wanna dish out a grand for a modded mbk so I went with a cheapie cartel. For $118 bucks, it's pretty nice. I figure this will hold me over until PT gets them back. May mod this a little. The crown guards bug the [censored] out of me so I may shave those. Maybe get a athenya tube+crown and relume. Other than that, the watch is fine. I don't feel the need to beat it to [censored] and make it look like it's been sitting at the bottom of the ocean for 30 years. You can still find pretty new looking gens. Aside from the lume being a bit bright, the dial isn't bad either. The triangle needs to be bigger but only us rolex nuts notice these things. To wear out of the box, it's a good buy.
  22. Tc bezel is made to gen spec. It should pop in like gens. The reps sometimes need glue...
  23. Jersey mikes #8 is the best sub IMO. Kidding aside, if you want the best of the best out of the box it's BK for the Cermaics and TC for the classic. Be prepared to wait a long time for TC. I think wait time is around 3 months? Good luck
  24. Yea. True but a few factories have been caught using the new breed bs and selling them as clones. BP did with a fee models. I think j12 and noob did as well. I hope this isn't a trend. We need to shut this bait and switch thing down before it get bad. People who have need to learn about it and speak up IMO. TDs just take the factories word for it. Never open them and check. I know they're running out of ETAs but surely they're not running out of clones. They make them! My guess is since ETAs are running low, they're raising prices on clones so factories who need them just buy the similar high best bc that's what the forum members ask for.
