Great job on the upgrade. It's kinda like moving to a new neighborhood it takes a little time to find all the new ways home and services near you. Thanks again for taking the time to improve the site.
I dip them in a bowl of bleach for about 10 seconds then remove and while under running water I gently rub the insert between my fingers while rinsing. Stop rinsing let dry and check result depending on how light I want the insert I may repeat the process several times.
First one I bleached I left in for about 45 seconds before rinsing and rubbing the insert, then another 45 seconds in the bleach and rubbed again. It turned out great just a little lighter that I wanted.
Go slow and experiment since the strength of the bleach can vary with age.
Good luck.

I wish I was in your shoes, then I might get away with a few more purchases. Or at least not be so stealth about them.
My wife has a few watches but for the most part they are an appliance to her.
Do a google search for 7th Edition Joseph Bulova School of Watchmaking Training Manual.
You can also pickup the CHICAGO SCHOOL OF WATCHMAKING on the bay for under $20.00 bucks.
Very nice for your first try, especially with all the gen parts. I would be a little nervous about dinging up some nice gen parts.
The silver / white linen dials are some of my favorite on the Datejust / Daydate.
