  1. Agreed...I'm using FireFox 3.5.1 and it's fine...
  2. I use all three but I've recently been using Win7 RTM Ultimate x64 and Office "Mondo" 2010 Technical Preview.... the combination is stunning...though I'm still a redhat / Ubuntu fan at heart
  3. Me too mate...took a Twitter break !
  4. Geeze I leave for a week and everything changes!! (For the better ) What's going to happen when I'm in Amsterdam for a week at the end of August ?!?!
  5. Gen.... you can buy an Oyster Perpetual Chronometer with the 1560 for around $1000-1200 Great way to start collecting!
  6. Lani, Hope you're feeling better already! Bed rest, fluids, etc will hopefully take the bite out of it!
  7. Can't you just exclude that particular program in the "Exclusions" menu?
  8. Where was this done?! If it was good work than good deal man...I have a feeling you'll be getting PM's from our international members rather soon!
  9. Ah interesting...and no way to sort of "retrofit" shock protection I'd imagine...else you'd probably have done it! 30 seconds a week...man...they don't make 'em like they used to My whole family is originally from Waltham, MA... I'm looking out my window at work and can just barely see the top of the Waltham Watch Factory I'll post pictures when I find the perfect one.... As always, thanks for your informative response!
  10. Z, Amazing! Like Slay, I read it before and I'm equally impressed reading it again! Something I noticed: Does the balance wheel not have shock protection?? I don't see a KIF or Incabloc-type spring over the jewel...does this affect wearing the watch, actual shock resistance, etc? I ask because I'm looking at picking up a beautiful old Waltham watch with the same type of jeweling... I'd love to know your thoughts on this...thanks!!
  11. Most DateJusts from standard dealers come equipped with sapphire xtals and eta clones (Price is around $240) Dealers like King allow you to specify what color/type of dial you'd like and they'll request that specific piece / combo from the factory (so at least SOMEONE is looking at it before it ships) ... King can even send pictures of the watch before it ships (if I recall...). I'm sure Josh and Andrew can probably accommodate requests for your favorite dials, etc... SS DateJusts are pretty good (underrated) buys IMHO... I wouldn't get a rep DD just because the difference in metals and weight is obvious.
  12. Very nice! I love those handwound chronos
  13. If you believe Walt Odets, the ETA (or clone in there) is a better movement than the cheap(er) grade Rolex movement in the gen
  14. I'm gonna echo Nanuq and others in this thread... I sold my last rep about 5 months ago and I'm now 100% gen... am I happier? It's one less variable to ponder but as other's have said (M above said it beautifully) you're still going to look for that "perfect" watch...rep or gen
  15. Awesome watch! Glad she's happy
  16. Credit cards I don't worry about as (at least with AmEx) their fraud protection is first rate...never had an issue. Jkay has it down pat- Bank of America also offers a similar tool for their credit cards ( I use this while shopping online). Also- I've got a separate Blue Cash card I use only for online purchases.... allows one to budget and limits the risk associated with using only one credit card...miles/cash with AmEx are fully transferable so it's not an issue on that front.
  17. Great photos, great review, and a great watch! Enjoy! I love mine!!
