  1. Has anyone found a decent GMT Root Beer from one of the TD's? I have been on the lookout for one. I bought an el cheapo to mod and the crown tube hole is too big for the gen crown that I bought for it.
  2. Hi. I'm pretty new to building/modifying watches, but I am just finishing my first 1601 datejust franken build, and thought I would share my project with you- hoping to get some tips/ providing some pointers from my experience. I have started another build aswell, and would like to perfect my skills and keep building time pieces with a personal touch :-) this topic will include both projects. #1: - genuine 1601 case - genuine 1601 bezel and acrylic - genuine Rolex tube and crown - ETA 2824–2 - genuine blue dial - Tudor hands - movement holder raffles time #1 (slightly modified) - aftermarket leather strap # 2 - About the same specs but with the pan pie dial - aftermarket Jubilee bracelet (signed 554) ----- Just ask me whatever you want, and I will try to help you out if I can. I would gladly share my experiences/provide tips/pictures/explanations if it could be of any help to others doing similar projects ;-) trim.7BE67496-CB21-449C-8D5A-BD6A5F132EE9.MOV
  3. Hi there Anyone have any spare or replacement pearls you're willing to sell? I've got a bp dssd ceramic that the pearl keeps getting knocked off...if you don't have any onhand, any recommendations where I might find one? The raised pearl and my wrist movement don't seem to mesh... Thanks in advance
  4. Hi all, not sure if i'm posting in the right area but here's my dilemma. Just bought a Rolex everose chocolate asia rep as i could not find a real ETA movement version, i wish to swap in a real ETA 2836-2 movement out of a highend NOS Sandoz, the DAYDATE is the same as a 2834 which is identical to the 2836 except for the DAY wheel complication. Is there anyone in the US that could do this for me, i live in NYC and have been to many of the repair shops in Chinatown and no one will touch it due to it being a rep. Also i did find a replacement ETA DAY wheel on EBAY but was holding off to see if the asia DAY wheel will fit the ETA movement. I would like to give this as a belated mothers day gift when my mum visits from England in the middle of May. Hoping you guys can help. Thanks
  5. Hey Guys- I am looking at two Rolex 16610 models on perfect clones and wondering what I can expect for the difference in these two movements. The first is a Sub Asian 2824 / 3135 and the specs are as follows... - nickle plated asian clone 2824 modified to rolex calibre 3135 markings and bridges The second is a Sub Asian 2813 28800 and the specs are as follows... - ew breed asian 2813, 28800 high beat, ew breed with 25J, rolex style perforated rotor As a novice I honestly have no clue how big or important the difference is between these movements. I understand that it will make the watch more accurate with a smoother movement but to what degree? Will it be noticable to others that my watch is a rep if I go with the cheaper of the two movements or does it not make that large of a difference? Any thoughts or info on this whole area would be greatly appreciated!
  6. My first ever order was with Andrew at TTW (trusty time watches) it was a ladies date just with MOP face. That was absolutely gorgeous. Andrew is fantastic, he replies promptly to any queries via email and puts your mind at rest with his attention to detail and his efficiency. My next order was for a mans SS Rolex Day Date, navy blue 36mm face, diamond markers and diamond bezel, As well as a ladies SS Cartier Ballon Bleu with MOP (mother of pearl) face. Amazing quality, all looks mega bucks, like out of the jewellers! Everything is so well packed, in bubble wrap, individual bags and each watch has a protective thick film wrapped round it as well. Andrew does multiple QC checks on each watch. I'm confident I will only ever get immaculate perfection. I really cannot find fault with Andrews service or products. I have looked through a jewellers loupe ( magnifier) not a scratch or imperfection anywhere. Both times I have been able to track my parcel at all times. I thoroughly recommend Andrew, He's so good, I would not even bother trying out anyone else.
  7. A friend of mine who previously owned a gen 16613 really likes my tc sub v6 but he has not the money to pay 550usd and he's not that aware of flaws as we are on the boards So my question is where I can find the best 16610 from our TD's. Trusty has one which looks fairly nice but as much as I am aware this is not the noobmariner right? Is the noobmariner 16610 still the beste (except TC sub) we can get from our dealers? Moreover I have a spare caddell vintage insert lying around at home and want to know whether this would fit or not? Thanks for any inputs, Cheers
  8. Hi guys, i was looking for a thread that showed how to change dial on the rolex gmt master II ceramic step-by-step with pictures. i found one a while back very helpful but the op was banned. thanks in adv
  9. Not a full package but it came with booklets, spare folded link and domed crystal Serial number puts it to mid/late 1971, sold around 1972 which was not uncommon, the Rolex Explorer was a shelf hugger at that time Clasp stamped 4 71 which seems to be correct Service dial with great lume What do you think? Cheers
  10. Hey Guys- Still a noob here but just wanted to see which reps and AD's you think have the best or most undetectable rolex reps? I am looking for something that only a jewler could determine as a rep or as close as reps can get to that. If this really isn't a possibility and it very well could be, then should I just be scouring the forum for franken watches that have the important gen pieces (whatever those may be)? Sorry for the presumable noob questions but I figured it was worth a shot and you guys might hook me up with some valuble info/ lessons in this whole ordeal.
  11. Hello everyone, I^m looking for a Rolex Daytona 6263. I did some research on it. It seems that the DW Spinmaster is a very nice piece. But hard to find. I found an interesting one at josua site, have a look here: http://www.p-cls.com/0rldv00102-6263-ssss-black-asian-venus-p-10041.html (click on the same link a second time and the link will work) It says "the best vintage rolex daytona ever replicated.. surpassing all previous replication from woeher !..." blabla I`ve been long enough in this rep game to not believe any of this :-) But what cought my interest was this "made form blabla..... procured from Members of the Forums and Internet" Does anyone know something about this? I know they build a tudor with the help of the forum members over at RWI. But I didnt find any evidence that something like this happend on the 6263. And what do you think about this rep overall? greetings Arkon
  12. Hey guys I need some advice. Since I got my gold day date from a fellow forum member, I'm absolutely in love with it, but I'm a young guy, so I need a little bit of bling in my life too haha. This probably isn't the most tasteful day date, but what do you guys think?? Yay or nay
  13. Hi all, The noob v3 still has the same white insert color, so platinum mod is on the table. Can you recommend a CONUS modder who can do all of the following: 1. platinum mod 2. relume with tritec bg-w9 3 - n. WR, DWO or cyclops alignment if necessary, regulation? Thanks in advance!
  14. Hi guys, so I recently bought my first ever Rolex! I had it made by a fellow forum member and let me say I'm absolutely in love with it. Gorgeous piece, great quality, very comfortable to wear and I've gotten tons of compliments on it already and it's only the first day I've had it! Here are a few pictures and they really don't do it justice at all, definitely something that needs to be seen in person to be appreciated fully.
  15. how do these reps look? the red hand is an older model from 2009 with a swiss eta the orange hand from last year from a trusted dealer. do they look decent
  16. You guys that choose DSSD/SD over subs or subc is it mainly due to the cyclops issues or what is it that makes those models more appealing? I notice more of the former being sold or traded but noob v2 for example tends to rarely come up. Just curious what your thinking was when deciding to buy one over the other.
  17. I would like to buy a swiss rolex daytona in stainless steel with a white face. Anyone know any trustworthy sites from experience that would sell them? I specifically need swiss movement
  18. Does anyone know where I can find some 21mmx2.0mm gen spec spring bars? I have bought about 5 different kinds now and none of them have fit right. I have a Noob Explorer 2 and the top SEL fits so loose that it flips around if you push on it. I don't even wear the watch on it's bracelet anymore because of this. I keep trying different brands and none fit right. It's weird because one end of the watch has the right spring bar and the other end has a bar that has to be like 1.5mm. Thanks in advance/.
  19. Ok, it´s a technical marvel. It´s a real watch - a "Swiss Watch" "made in America", manufactured and assembled with care : Straightforward. No worries, no problems, no second thoughts. American assembly quality and You have it: You put in on the wrist – and it feels good. It sits. No need for adjustments, not too tight, not to loose, it just fits. The TC is thinner, more gen-like, by this changing the weight balance to a lower point on the wrist and wow You notice it, a lot, it does not “capsize” like the others, huge improvement and difference. What a quality feel with the bracelet and its opening mechanism, it snaps open, it has a resistance than snaps, tight, solid, as it should be. The movement – perfect, no rattling, no shaking, feels “gen-like”. Screwing out the crown – again perfect feel, no scratching, no pushing, no fiddling around, no trying, it just clicks and You set date and time, smoothly, no resistance at all – perfectly working. Simply GREAT! As for the looks, a lot has been said already the TC sub catches the light, it blinks, it reflects. Shine and perfection of the triangle and circles is fantastic. The lettering on the dial is crisp and uses different fonts than the asian ones. The black is smooth and a deep black. One other huge difference/improvement is how the second hand attaches to the center wheel – it just looks perfect. For this "Cadell Submariner Rouge 25-286" I just had to have that inverted datewheel without the Cyclops for the balanced overall "Seadweller-type" look and the crisp red second hand sweeping is just fascinating. Thanks for this TC On to the pics, got a little carried away.. enjoy: And my 2 new favourite together:
  20. I've been considering the purchase of a Milgauss with green sapphire crystal. I've come down to 2 sellers: Perfect Clones and Lawrence Watch.info They both sell a Milgauss GS version with a Rolex caliber 3131 copy with roughly $100 difference in price. I need help from you experts, since this would be my first rep purchase, in finding out if it's the same watch they both sell or there are any differences and if, which one is eventually better and worth the extra $$$. Here are the links: Lawrence Watch.info http://www.greatasia3368.com/rolex/milgauss/rolexmilgaussswiss_005.htm Perfect Clones http://www.p-cls.com/rlm00008-milguass-green-sapphire-swiss-283631-p-12835.html Thank you so much for your help and knowledge. Max
  21. Dear respected experts, Need you to help me check out this Rolex Ex 1. The problem seemed to be with the dial: 1. The markings are painted on instead of the normal raised markings 2. The arabic numerics seem rounded as opposed to the more squarish ones 3. It says swiss T<25 instead of swiss made. I am however comparing this to the newer rolex Ex 1, which is the 39mm ones. But this is, of course the out of production 36mm. I don't have much to compare with, and there seem to be a few variations for this older (and dare I say, better) version. Please help! Thanks so much!
  22. Hi Guys, I joined these forums a couple of days ago and I've had a lot of insightful and very helpful members on here take the time to explain things to me and help me on my travels. Mike on a bike and TC, thanks for all your help so far. Im new to these forums and gradually finding my way around the place is getting a little easier each day but now it's time to haul ass and get something built. I've decided that the first piece i would love to have is the LV sub. I know that TC does amazing work but unfortunately as we all know, this model has ceased production until supplier issues are sorted out. I would love to commission someone to build me a piece at the same quality that TC builds (if at all possible) but as yet, I have not found the cheese at the end of the maze. So I put this out there to any any and all builders, modders and anything in between: Is there anyone here that can build me something as good as TC's LV sub or am I going to have to commission someone to build me a Franken LV sub? Ubiquitous has the most amazing Franken LV sub i've seen on here and I figure getting one built with all the gen parts like he did is probably the best option at this point. Thatst type of piece I am after, quality wise. Who can help me on here or point me in the right direction with a Franken solution or something similar. Once I start collecting, the other Rolex's I would want would also have to be of this high quality too. So I will definitely be coming back for more if you help me out on this first purchase with the LV sub. Is this possible? If so, I would encourage and appreciate any and all members to chime in and give me your .02 Anyone looking to sell (including you too Ubiquitous!!!) Please feel free to PM me too. Thanks for your help gentlemen! DK
  23. Now that I have a TC Sub V6, I am looking to mod it a little to make it more accurate. To do so, I am looking to replace the crystal with a gen crystal that has the proper laser etching. Does anyone know where to buy the a gen crystal for the 16610 Rolex Submariner???
  24. So as some of you know I've been out of the forum for the last couple months, I've been moving back to Blighty and had bugger all time to keep up with the new releases, what's due out soon etc etc. So what is coming out this year, and what are you most looking forward to guys I heard some rumours last year about the Pelagos coming out at some stage, the Black Bay has just come out hasn't it? Has anyone got one yet?
