  1. Hi all, The noob v3 still has the same white insert color, so platinum mod is on the table. Can you recommend a CONUS modder who can do all of the following: 1. platinum mod 2. relume with tritec bg-w9 3 - n. WR, DWO or cyclops alignment if necessary, regulation? Thanks in advance!
  2. Hi guys, so I recently bought my first ever Rolex! I had it made by a fellow forum member and let me say I'm absolutely in love with it. Gorgeous piece, great quality, very comfortable to wear and I've gotten tons of compliments on it already and it's only the first day I've had it! Here are a few pictures and they really don't do it justice at all, definitely something that needs to be seen in person to be appreciated fully.
  3. how do these reps look? the red hand is an older model from 2009 with a swiss eta the orange hand from last year from a trusted dealer. do they look decent
  4. Hello all! Earlier this week I bought my first Rolex replica after a long (long long long long long) time searching, reading and asking questions. Please welcome my Rolex Submariner Ceramic Noob V1. If this looks boring, and it probably is, just skip to the pictures! (i'm sure they will do some justice!) Why Did I Go With The V1: Trust me, I know the V2 is out! But if I were to buy it and spend the $300+, I only wanted to buy it new with a Asian clone mvnt. Pureti.me was the only person I was talking to about Stock availability in the V2, and they kept telling me 2 weeks until they get it in... 1 week passed, 2 weeks passed, 3 weeks passed and still no stock for them. So I decided to spend less money on a V1 and live with the flaws! It has nothing to do with the differences between the V1 and V2, I simply bought it since I was eager to have my first rep Rolex! My First Thoughts: I definitely never noticed how white Rolex' lume applicator was until I went in a local Rolex store and took a peek. By the looks of it, the V1 doesn't have many flaws... Okay maybe if you know your watches and get in its face then you can tell the flaws, but the quality of this watch is amazing. Flaws I've noticed w/ out Having to go Back to the Books: By this, I mean what I noticed myself that differed from my genuine Rolex research without having to go back on the Forums and ask questions or search for differences of my V1 to the Gen. It seems like the flaws are minimal. I bought this watch via M2M and the previous owner did a Bezel paint mod and waterproofed and tested. With that it is very gen-like already. However I did noticed the minute markers do not reach the reheut, the 'm' in '300m' is not spaced away from the '300' enough and not italicizes enough. (I have not done research on the following so don't judge me). --> the pearl is definitely off on this one. It is centered to the triangle, however, if you can tell in the following pictures - the previous owner must have accidentally brushed the paint on the pearl while trying to do the bezel paint mod. This is not that big of an issue to me as I am currently searching for a replacement Bezel + Pearl. As for the bezel, I don't know much about the difference with the gen. ceramic and rep. noob ceramic so I will let you all be the judge of the. The bracelet feels light to weight but the fit and feel is as comforting as a leather strap. Ok maybe I'm exaggerating... The brushed S/S is a nice look but the 314L definitely does not compare to Rolex' 904L S/S uses. I can already notice some wears and marking just from moving the adjustment clasp up and down. The date-magnifier gets a lot of reflection and does not look gen-like at all when taking a close look, or even when trying to take a picture of the watch outside. From what I remember, I will need to have the mag AR? coated. Future Expectations (modding): - I don't know if it would fit, but I'm thinking of buying a Noob V2 bracelet from another member who has an extra one lying around and try to fit it in. - I definitely want to replace the ceramic bezel and pearl on this one, something doesn't look right to me and I can't put my eye on it! From here I will need to do some more research on modding a Rolex to decide what else is necessary for mine to look more gen-like, but I will definitely appreciate any suggestions! The main reason I wanted to write this review: I wanted a better eyes opinion. Not because I can't live with it, I love it, but I would like to know what you noticed that I haven't. This will help me in the future when buying Rolex. Do you think there are major differences between the Noob V1 and Noob V2?: No, honestly a replica watch is a replica watch, each will have its own flaws, they will never be spot on but like we all say, buy it if you can live with its flaws! And I'm still living. . . . . _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Now for the close-up shots. Bezel Close Up (paint mod outcome) Pearl Close Up (I believe you can see the paint on Pearl.) Direct View of Dial Well, for now that's all. I look forward to reading your comments, replies, remarks or suggestions! Thanks for looking
  5. Does anyone know where I can find some 21mmx2.0mm gen spec spring bars? I have bought about 5 different kinds now and none of them have fit right. I have a Noob Explorer 2 and the top SEL fits so loose that it flips around if you push on it. I don't even wear the watch on it's bracelet anymore because of this. I keep trying different brands and none fit right. It's weird because one end of the watch has the right spring bar and the other end has a bar that has to be like 1.5mm. Thanks in advance/.
  6. I could use some expert advice on removing and replacing the Ceramic Bezel on my 116613 SUB TT with Swiss ETA 2836-2, purchased from Andrew. One of the link screws came out and the watch slid off my wrist and hit the pavement almost flat on the Crystal. Not a scratch other then the Ceramic Bezel Pearl Dot broke off/shattered and a piece of the Bezel came with it. I temporarily glued it back on with a tinny dab of super clue. So I ordered a replacement Bezel from Andrew.....and here I am let me qualify that I love this watch! keeps great time and looks awesome! Need the Help on: 1) Good Procedure for removing the old Bezel. 2) Procedure for Replacing with the new Bezel. Also recommendations for adhesive. I have been reviewing the posts and read where you remove the pearl and use a dental pick to lift off the old Bezel through that opening. Confirmation and or better step procedure would help. I have also seen pictures or reworks where it looks like the Bezel was glued on. I would hate to screw this up - some part of me wants to just purchase the lesser expensive Asian movement equivalent (no offense, I have several others and so does my son) and just swap out the movements which should be straight forward.
  7. I owed TC these pictures. The watch is really awesome, and I said I'd share pictures of it with the community.... So here it is !!! I've been wearing it for over 2 month now -and yes: no scratches....-, and I love it more and more. I was planning on upgrading it, but finally it's great as it is.
  8. Hi Guys, I joined these forums a couple of days ago and I've had a lot of insightful and very helpful members on here take the time to explain things to me and help me on my travels. Mike on a bike and TC, thanks for all your help so far. Im new to these forums and gradually finding my way around the place is getting a little easier each day but now it's time to haul ass and get something built. I've decided that the first piece i would love to have is the LV sub. I know that TC does amazing work but unfortunately as we all know, this model has ceased production until supplier issues are sorted out. I would love to commission someone to build me a piece at the same quality that TC builds (if at all possible) but as yet, I have not found the cheese at the end of the maze. So I put this out there to any any and all builders, modders and anything in between: Is there anyone here that can build me something as good as TC's LV sub or am I going to have to commission someone to build me a Franken LV sub? Ubiquitous has the most amazing Franken LV sub i've seen on here and I figure getting one built with all the gen parts like he did is probably the best option at this point. Thatst type of piece I am after, quality wise. Who can help me on here or point me in the right direction with a Franken solution or something similar. Once I start collecting, the other Rolex's I would want would also have to be of this high quality too. So I will definitely be coming back for more if you help me out on this first purchase with the LV sub. Is this possible? If so, I would encourage and appreciate any and all members to chime in and give me your .02 Anyone looking to sell (including you too Ubiquitous!!!) Please feel free to PM me too. Thanks for your help gentlemen! DK
  9. Dear respected experts, Need you to help me check out this Rolex Ex 1. The problem seemed to be with the dial: 1. The markings are painted on instead of the normal raised markings 2. The arabic numerics seem rounded as opposed to the more squarish ones 3. It says swiss T<25 instead of swiss made. I am however comparing this to the newer rolex Ex 1, which is the 39mm ones. But this is, of course the out of production 36mm. I don't have much to compare with, and there seem to be a few variations for this older (and dare I say, better) version. Please help! Thanks so much!
  10. Now that I have a TC Sub V6, I am looking to mod it a little to make it more accurate. To do so, I am looking to replace the crystal with a gen crystal that has the proper laser etching. Does anyone know where to buy the a gen crystal for the 16610 Rolex Submariner???
  11. Hello All, Today I returned home to find the TC Submariner V6 Arrived. I am pretty noob here but I am diving pretty deep into the submariner, pun intended. You all can see some pictures attached below. I will be sure to post more picture if you want to see a certain aspect. Since I am so new, I will let you all be the judge. Please critic flaws you see. I took some pictures of the TC V6 next to my BP Ceramic Sub. My initial impressions are as follows: The watch is beautiful. I think I like the old Sub model much more than the bulkier ceramic model. I also prefer the smaller hour markers. Some worries are as follows: The bezel doesn't make the same loud clicking sound, although it does click, just a duller tone. Also, the watch feels pretty light..idk if this is because I am used to the ceramic model which is more bulky. Also, and probably my biggest concern, and I would be curious to know if this is just normal for the older sub models is this: The bracelet feels very light and the clasp feels a little cheap when comparing to the BP Ceramic version. All in all, beautiful watch and I have to say TC gave awesome customer service and he sent the watch in rapid time. More details to follow. Please let me know what you, the experts think...
  12. Hey fellas found this very helpful link! http://www.vikbobil.se/bezel.html
  13. Hi all, I have one of these... http://www.tswatchltd.com/13902-ro13902-submariner-ceramic-bezel-black-ult-noobfactory-asian-2836.html I have a bigger wrist than I thought! I now have it on my wrist and it's a wee bit tight. Has anyone have any spare links that I could purchase. Otherwise, would I have to contact the original site? Cheers Kev
  14. I have an interesting project in the works right now, and I was wondering if anyone has the dimensions of a Rolex 5512/13 w/ pointed crown guards... or a gen/phong case to measure? I need every dimension of the mid-case and crown. Also, the dimensions of a Helenarou 6538 bezel [notches] would be very useful. Thanks everyone!
  15. I am looking to acquire an automatic GMT, with stainless bracelet. I'm interested in the "scalability" of the piece as much as the aesthetics. Meaning, I want to get something that looks and works great right "out of the box" (I like the Planet Ocean GMT, and the PAM North Pole especially), functions accurately AND is compatible with the maximum of GEN parts for hybridizing. For instance, the Omega that seems to accept (with some retooling) a GEN HEV, crown/stem, dial/hands. I am especially fond of the "tool diver" look. I'd appreciate any and all feedback on this topic.
  16. Hi all, Warning- noob alert, lol! Just bought one of these second hand, my first foray into this bluddi addictive world .......... http://www.tswatchltd.com/13902-ro13902-submariner-ceramic-bezel-black-ult-noobfactory-asian-2836.html A couple of questions guys.. How often does it need winding? I have only ever had battery powered watches before The date won't change? I had to wind the hours forward to get the right date rather than the date clicking forward how I imagine it should do. Just accept the second point or get it serviced and see if it's repairable? Many thanks all Kev
  17. I was just browsing CL and this listing came out. I thought to spread the word. Good luck http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/jwd/4210664320.html
  18. Hello Gents, I received my TC LV sub a couple of months back and finally got around to doing a review. The ordering process is different than dealing with other trusted dealers but well worth it!Once you place you order and make payment the wait begins. Turn around is usually 25-30 days. TC's packaging is impeccable! I've never seen so much care and attention to detail in wrapping and securing a replica timepiece. TC leads by example and is a trendsetter. I've been in the rep game 20 plus years and hands down this is the best sub next to a gen! From the case, band, dial, bezel assembly, insert, and lume this watch is superb. I highly recommend if you purchase a classic sub TC is the go to guy! Unfortunately this particular model is no longer available, but he recently released a new TC V6 sub with gen like dial and Caddell Vintage insert. All I can say is don't miss out!
  19. Hey I'm Michael I'm fairly new, I've been lurking for a while but I decided to make an account so I could buy my first rep. Anyway, I ordered a 21j Daytona with the frozen chronograph, not the best replica, but it appealed to me. I've always wanted a watch the the big sweeping hand. I ordered the watch about 3 weeks ago, and the wait for it to arrive has been just the worst. I got home today at 1pm after a night out with mates and have a card in the mail saying my parcel is ready to be picked up ... After 5pm. These next four hours are going to be the longest 4 hours in the world. :/ I just hope that when I pick it up that it actually is the watch and not something else.
  20. Hey Guys, Rather new to this forum. Been checking a bunch of replica sites, and don't feel safe with any of them. I am looking to find a nice replica Rolex Milgauss Oyster, Green Sapphire Chrystal m116400. Any advice would be much appreciated. Looking for quality and high resemblance. Hope someone can help me out. Happy Holidays, Jake
  21. Posted on Hodinkee today: http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/on-the-block-gold-rolex-gmt-ref-6542-with-bakelite-bezel-at-sothebys-new-york-live-pics As much i don't like gold watches i found this GMT beautiful! I have never knew Rolex made them with that Bakelite bezel color variation and without crown guards. Interesting is the long and slim GMT hand. Thanks!
  22. And another introduction for today Last week I received my "accidently" orderd ultimate superlumed Sea Dweller from Trusty Time Why accidently??...because I didn't even think about of ordering a Sea Dweller...but once I saw this beauty (whoever did that review I was reading...my wife hates you ) I couldn't resist This SD is pretty well made. The only flaw that came directly to my eyes is the crown...I already orderd one from TC The second thing is the bracelet...they put on a 93250...a TC93160A is on its way The watch runs like a champ with only 4sec + (Kello checked), is waterproof out of the box (100m they say...will let it being checked at Domis...) and has a pretty good PR of 35h Well...nuff said...here are the pix...
  23. Not terribly fond of the non-Eon-produced Thunderball remake, but to each his own Back on topic - After commenting earlier that the initial batch of dials would be my first and last, I have decided to produce ONE more, totally redesigned set of Vintage rolex dials. These will be perfect if you’re building a super-franken. Just a few of the improvements: MUCH thinner fonts Redesigned from the ground up for even more accuracy GEN plates I have already sold a few, but this marks the first time they will be available for RWG members' to purchase. Dials available: 1665 Comex 5517 Military 5514 Comex 5513 concept/proto (don’t think these were ever “officially” released) 1665 SINGLE red sea dweller (the real reason I decided to do one more batch) As I don’t intend for this to be a sales thread, just a project update, please check the parts/tools section for more info + price.
  24. I have a ceramic sub from Josh, and the bracelet has developed issues that I am unable to put right; the glide lock clasp isn’t working properly (its slipping) causing the watch to become loose, while I’m wearing it, and the ‘security clasp’ has become detached (I have the part, but I don’t have a spring bar with which to refit it). Can anyone recommend who I can get in touch with on this forum to fix my bracelet, or, does anyone have a functioning bracelet for a 116610 that they can sell me? Looking forward to hearing from you.
