Hi Friends ! I'm very happy to present my new baby. This project started by chance, I was fortunate to be able to buy a 700 gen crown and a 5512 PCG Phong case. Initially the crown was destined for my cartel 5513 but the day after its purchase I could not resist the opportunity to get a nice PCG case with correct crown eight. This was a quick decision to take as this case has the particularity of having a wider dial opening than the usual size for the 5512. It seems that for the first 5512, Rolex have used 5510 dials that measure 27mm. Then with the appearance of the 26mm dials a slight gap was visible between the dial and the rehaut. The 26mm dial not resting on the dial seat, the assembly was held in the case thanks to the fixings of the movement. With an ETA movement, which is smaller than the 1530 Rolex, this is not possible, the 26mm dial + movement set passes through the dial opening. So I had to be able to make a larger dial that can fit on the seat of the case. On this case, the diameter of the dial seat is 27.8mm. So I simply resized a 29mm dial in 27.6mm. The regulars know the following, removing paint from the dial, sanding with 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1500, and 2000 sandpaper, polishing, gold plating, decal then lume. Martin van den Berg posted a question in Questions & Answers
Hi, I am looking to purchase the best 5513 and 1675 GMT replica also in the market for a Daytona. Any suggestions please? Anybody used Trusty Time? http://www.ttw-138.com? Regards Martin -
Gentlemen, Your thoughts please. What do you think about lugs and CGs? Josh case reshaped Gilt Dial from Tony, resumed by Kenny, hands relumed and bronze aged. Ofrei insert dot Athaya crown and tube Yuki hands set Clark plexi ETA 2836 Cartel bracelet.

I just came across this on eBay and wondering what you guys think. Seller states gen dial but may be refinished since the lume glows. Says the hands glow as well. Pearl is way off but insert looks pretty well aged so that's puzzling to me. The case looks interesting too. The crown guards look great in my humble opinion, very light wear but the chamfered edges look non existent. I'm no expert but it could be a phong case or something. So is this a high end genstein? http://www.ebay.com/itm/ROLEX-VINTAGE-SUBMARINER-S-STEEL-REF-5512-SOLD-FOR-PARTS-WITH-NO-RESERVE-LOOK/191838659407?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D36332%26meid%3Db7eee8ffcb794fab949b410fc92a9a2e%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D401097357084

Good evening, after spending a lot of time on the fora and even more looking at the TDs' pics, I need to hear the experts here: who can provide the best "out of the box" 5512 and 6263 ? I already know that every single piece is not good enough just as is, and I know some artists that would build some lovely vintage Rolexes if they only could find some free time in their busy schedules, but if I should buy'n'wear a McQueen 5512 or a Clapton 6263 where could I find some ? Thank you, this place is amazing.

As I go through my parts bin and look at what I have, versus what I need for my different Fall projects, I realized that the case I have does not work with the 5512 dial I planned for the 5512 McQueen build. This forced me to sell a few items and sort of start from scratch. The DW Submariner case I have has a dial opening too big for the gen 26mm 5512/5513 dials, but would work for a vintage 5512 dial(26.5-27mm) or even a 1680 Sub. Now, I like the simplicity of the no date Subs and would love to build a decent 5512. I have a great 2846 movement for it and decent gilt styled hands, as well as a t19 crystal that just looks like the t16, so the question is, can this Ingod dial work for a PCG 5512, or would it be too old and thus only work on a square crown guard Sub? To all the modders around the world: I am working on designing my own watch, which is partially based on a sub mid case. I need to have a prototype put together ASAP, and the factory I'm working with is taking its time. Does any modder have a sub midcase that they can reshape for me, whether it be a 16610, 1680, 5512, or 5513? Even if it is from a canal street grade rep, it may be fine. The crown guards would need reshaping, the midcase would need to be thinned, and the lugs would need some reshaping a bit too. Who can offer some assistance with this? Thanks!

I have an interesting project in the works right now, and I was wondering if anyone has the dimensions of a Rolex 5512/13 w/ pointed crown guards... or a gen/phong case to measure? I need every dimension of the mid-case and crown. Also, the dimensions of a Helenarou 6538 bezel [notches] would be very useful. Thanks everyone!

I'm trying to figure out [gen] case thickness of the Rolex 5512/13/14 for a project. I'm not sure how thickness is usually measured, but if someone knows the thickness of the caseback+case+bezel, that would be great.

I have a 5513 Sub that, for some reason, stops and starts rather erratically. I know this question probably would have been better in a different section, but I figured I'd ask it here because this seems to be the section with the most "franken" builders. This 5513 seems to be fully wound, and will run for like 5 seconds and then stop. Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong with it, or who could fix it for me? Thanks in advance!

I think I've finally got together the money for a decent MBW case, gilt dial 5512/13. Unfortunately, the only one I've ever seen for sale was sold before I could afford it. I suppose the best way now, is to get a modded MBW 5512/13 and have the dial installed myself. First of all, if anyone has a gilt 5512 or 5513, let's see some pics! I don't see enough of them around, and I need some incentive to do this. Also, I was wondering if the Ingod dials fit in any MBW cases properly, or if I'd need to have the case bored out somehow. I've heard of people filing down dials too? Is that do-able? Of course the feet would need to be clipped to glue the dial onto a 2836 movement, but that's not a big deal. So is the dial installation generally easy? Or will it be expensive or difficult for me to get done?

Alright, im in the process of installing a gen tube into a cartel 5512 case. How hard is it to redrill and retap correctly? What drill size and tap size is used for the 7030? Is there anyone in EU who could do this installation if i send my parts to the person? Regards

Hello folks, being a big admirer of the vintage Rolex builts, members have performed on this board, I'm looking for my 5512PCG options. I have a gilt dial after gen specs, gen superdome T19 and gen crown. I want it to look like LHOOQ's, because naturally - I want to be just like him I have read a lot about MBW's - but still don't quite understand what the deal with those MBK 5512's from BKK is. Reg still can source them and I've heard they take gen parts without big modifications. So, since Josh's 5512 is way out of specs... Are these current MBK's worth the money? Or is buying a used MBW from an member the only chance? If so... Cheers Akira
