damn VRF, can you believe some one sold me a pair of 580s in "good condition" that were missing the 2mm spring bar loops. not even usable. if thats their idea of good condition i would hate to see "poor-fair". damn WSO with ill-fitting parts, made to fit like gen my @ss i think your coronet is more modern, i would personally use the fat coronet crown but since your hands and dial are lumi it is plausible that they replaced the fat crown with the more modern style when they "serviced" your dial to lumi... your crown matches the watches story but it does cost it some character

if it aint i would be interested as this would serve my vintage subs nicely, especially if it takes gen hands and has a reverse datewheel. doubtful. the balance wheel does look like the 15X0 cals tho

very nice. a couple questions: why the WSO bezel? why a modern 703? (to match the hands and dial period i assume?) this is about as good as it can get without magically raising the crown height position i had everything to build a very similar one ,all gen tritium (dial, hands, insert) except bracelet links (had gen clasp and 580s) they sit in my parts box, so its wonderful to see one completed, makes me question my tritium route with that glow on yours.

its been said the bezel assembly is not gen like. and that 3135 clone... well i wouldnt equate it to a second coming as some others have. typical low crown position, date font looks a little off, bad 703 crown. aside from that and the $400 asking price the rest looks nice. if the assembly cant fit an aftermarket crystal or gen bezel insert, theres little point in it for me.

i was considering this dial before i bought a gen dial. and to be honest it would probably have been the dial i would have bought had i not scored a gen at a great price. i was looking at the white markers version mind you. but this seems to be one of the last early 80s maxi dials before the 5513 went gloss. go for it, but get the white, as ive only ever see the gen with way less patina than that NDT repro

mbk is the name used to refer to a model of vintage submariner that can accept gen parts, the name is derived from the store in which they are purchased in asia. once modded up they are very close to a genuine watch of the same model costing far less than what other case manufacturers would charge you ($500-$1000s less) for the same quality. you would really only buy the higher retail cases if you wanted to fit a genuine movement with out having to sand it. other than that they still need modding to be accurate. a quick example of a 5513 once you drill the lug holes, trim the cgs, install a new insert, and refinish the dial. i often sell my modded pieces once i get bored with them and sadly no longer have the one above in my collection, but i have new pieces to play with and mod (until i want to fund new projects and sell those) MBK/MBW (interchangeable namesake from the before time) also makes a sea dweller (1665) they are fantastic watches , but require modding and stringent quality control before they can be (or should be) sold. I am no different than JMB in the fact that i do mods and build some mighty fine 5513s, and 1665s *we should really create a wiki

swatch sells the 2846 version of the no date 2 position movement in their "swatch IRONY body and soul watch" its a "2841" movement but its not meant to be serviced so im not entirely sure if there are replacement parts specifically for this cal. since its a skeleton watch you clearly see the 2 notch keyless works @nielest toasting it wont kill the lume. ive painted over lume markers with acrylic paint and it has still faintly glowed through in the right conditions.

exactly why i said this thing is probably junk with zero availability of parts down the road. im assuming really only the keyless works functions like gen and the rest are made to eta dimensions including the pinions

saw these as well. if i needed any i probably would have bought them too. question for me is: are they water tight still?
