yes, indeed. that is the real question. id probably still rather have a sellita. id only probably ever buy it if they rep'd the cal 1520/30 or 1570, can you say gen datewheel, no dial feet clipping and 19.8k?! just from my observations the engravings dont look real(as in printed on) and the reversing wheels arent exactly the same material as the gen(teeth are shiny metal). there are also several other obvious differences, like the regulator and screw sizes and shape. i bet its the same factories that make the 2836 clone using the same inferior materials but just a differently designed engine. a different way of doing the same thing. id even bet the rotor isnt pressed on but screwed down with a cap over it. bet its not worth the price/headache that will ensue. even willing to bet that the movement is modified to be backwards compatible with the ETA movement cases meaning its not a true 1:1 3135 clone (not accepting gen parts)but rather when it breaks there are no spare parts for it. you can confirm this by the low crown position as seen on puretimes website, this just looks like a 3135 more than the dressed up eta2836 did. also would bet it takes eta hands. basically the keyless works is done differently on this one. one look by a watch maker and he will instantly tell isnt not a 3135. if it doesnt have a micro adjuster how can you call this a clone? cant wait to see the asking price, any one else think it will be out of line?

did the insert fit the bezel ring correctly while installed on the watch over the crystal? or did you just try the bezel ring while it was off?

what ive been using

iodine + toaster oven. lay em flat on a piece of foil, dark orange yellow bake for a couple minutes, more white, leave em in longer. if you leave them in too long you will probably have to repeat the process as it will be too pale. iodine markers and hands for a minute or so. the gmt hour hand is an entirely different shape than the submariner hour hand. try and see if bk will sell you some tw hands.

id say the value depends on the retaining ring construction. if its the ring with the groove for the nylon gasket it would low 100. if its like the 1:1 ring with proper fitting insert and no nylon gasket id say $150-$180 shipped

a proper date wheel has stopped me from building a 1680 for along time. lets see if this solves that

im going to say dont mess around with glues or cements when dials or watch parts are involved. it gets stringy and cob web like and will ruin your gloss dial. why risk it? 3M makes a great double sided scarp booking tape which i have used NUMEROUS times without incident, it is very adhesive.

interesting. i have contacts in Vietnam who are always on the look out for new and high quality rep parts. i believe the current MBK cases are manufactured in TW but who really knows. the guy that sells them claims they come from the EU, which i dont believe.

forget the yuki hands. i like the WSO aged ones..but at $50 i dunno. whats your budget like?

if its the current josh cartel version then the CGs wont give you much practice for modding since theyre too stumpy to be of any useful experience. i have modded several MBKs given my constant access to that place and you have to mod the outside as part of the CG as well. example: this is the style i was going for also see that empty ring on the top part of the case, make sure you buy the correct gasket and fit it in there before you take your new mbk swimming, the factory neglects to add this ring since its a different size than caseback gasket. i add this on all my watches. this reservoir will fill with and trap water JOSH / ANDREW 5513 cgs
