  1. 555b endlinks work on the gen 160xx cases.
  2. Beautiful piece and in great shape for it's age. Love it when a plan comes together!
  3. I'm in! I should probably ask how much first ...
  4. +1 I'll end up buying whatever 1016 dial comes out of this based on the samples I've seen posted here so far, but if I get to vote, something like the NDtrading patina dial would be ideal for me.
  5. the new version of the 'who has the best Sub' post ... There are plenty of good reps out there, and nearly all of them have been reviewed on this, and the other forum you posted the same question on. Read through the sites and you'll find all the information you need.
  6. There are plenty of build threads for snowflakes ... as with any franken project people will have various ways of doing a build. Search through them and research the various options. You'll come up with a good direction to follow depending on your time/budget requirements.
  7. Vac is going to be a busy man when the rep of this comes out ...
  8. 21/18 is the OEM spec. Depending on the strap you can squeeze a 22. I love my Tourby pilot strap, but will probably go OEM gator at some point.
  9. I need one of these: http://ndtradingcorp.com/zen/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=402
  10. I was prepared to hate Daniel Craig as Bond, but was pleasantly surprised in Casino Royale. Athough he did well in Quantum, I thought that film was a bit of a letdown. Just watched Skyfall again last night and it was as good as I remember. Hope he continues on for awhile.
  11. I think to make it work you'd have to buy one at a steep discount. Either because you're buying privately from someone who doesn't know the used market, or because a relatively inexpensive part needs to be replaced/repaired. Also, forget about the box/papers. If you are parting it out, there's really no need. People will charge a premium for them, and that's not what you are looking for to do what you are proposing. Most people won't go through the hassle to repair and you can sometimes pick up a deal on one with a bad bezel insert or dial, or has a nasty scratch someplace that is easily fixed (or replaced). Buy right and you could probably make it work.
  12. Mine has been great through 40k miles. Apart from a bent wheel replacement (which was my fault) I have just done oil changes every 5k and the factory maintenance. Couldn't be happier with the car ...
  13. You could do the 5500 Explorer or an Air-King.
  14. Anyone who wants to abuse drugs (legal or illegal) is going to find a way to do it. I'm not in favor of making it easier for them. In that sense, the 'war on drugs' can claim some success. You'll never be able to stop it, but if it's illegal the majority won't do it because of the consequences of getting caught. Have never understood the benefits of getting high just for the sake of getting high. Pain management I get, which is why I have no opposition to medical marijuana for people it legitimately helps. For the masses and just for 'fun', sorry, but I'm never going to vote for that. And for those that want to use the argument that alcohol is 'far' worse ... the only reason it may be, is that it's legal and readily available. Make marijuana (or any other drug for that matter) legal, and wait and see how long it takes.
  15. The Tudor hands are probably the 'best' option, but they are hard to find. Clark's are a good second choice. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hands-ETA-2824-White-For-Rolex-Tudor-Date-or-Dress-New-/230914593095?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35c3951147
  16. I would buy the TC Sub LV II for the maxi dial and green insert. Just do a comparison on the dial to see which is better.
  17. First, don't start three threads on the same subject. Second, buy from the trusted dealers on this site, don't go elsewhere. Third, the trusted dealers pretty much can get the same watches (with a few exceptions) so contact them and see what's available and what the prices are. If you want accuracy, try finding a WM9 version of the 16613 Sub you posted, or if you like the YM, then TC has probably the best one out there back available. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/155109-615-tc-factory-direct-yacht-master/ I'm not a 'bling' guy and generally find full gold reps lacking in quality, but to each his own.
  18. I actually learned to shoot a gun (and gun safety of course) in Boy Scouts ...
  19. Well, if you needed it ... the 7835 / 357 combo would probably have been best ...
