  1. I found a black on white date wheel online but the guy wanted $130. Yikes! I don't think so. I have been contemplating how to achieve this but so far I haven't been able to bridge the gap. One idea of course is the decal method. This one I will give more thought. Another idea is using the poljot 3133 to make an overlay. This needs further investigation. I know the datewheel itself is not interchangeable but I wonder if the diameters would allow the date overlay to be "transfered".
  2. Thanks for taking care of us t. Why do you suppose the attack occurred? I guess it is not clear to me what is to be gained by the one attacking. Just someone wanting to cause trouble? Is there no recourse with regard to bandwidth usage billing in the case of such an attack? Doesn't really seem fair when you can't control the incoming hits like that. Kind of like getting billed for incoming text messages on your mobile
  3. Maybe my wording didn't flow like I thought it did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iSD9lPVY6Q Just trying to show that some of the other companies sponsor cool stuff too.
  4. Indeed cool stuff. At least they are sponsoring out-of-the-box kind of things. I mean really, anyone can sponsor a flying man All joking aside it is noce to see them get behind things outside the norm. Racing seems to be common but seems a pretty straight forward thing.
  5. I am trying to determine if ETA/Valjoux movements use the same size screw for attaching the case clamps. Main reason I a asking is that I have a donor watch with a Valjoux 7734 but it does not use case clamps (or perhaps they were removed :dunno: ). So I need to get some new ones but I am not sure if I need ones specific to the movement or if others will work (ex: ETA 28xx). I don't have any handy at the moment to try so I thought I would throw it out there to see if anybody knows. Thanks!
  6. How could anyone do such a thing. To a gen no less!
  7. Wow! They are both lovely. I am sure once you get the pepsi insert on there you will like it more. If not just sell it to me
  8. Same problem for me. Also, the reliability issues always scared me away. Love my zuki
  9. Sure hope those clocks dont tick! Seriously, what a sweet setup. I love it.
  10. Not bad. Not too far removed from the B01 though. Like many I am not sure if I love it or hate it, still stuck on the fence.
  11. All I can say is WOW! Forget about the definition of gen, thas got to be darn near good enough for anyone! Nice build...I am jealous.
  12. Nice piece Sql. I have all the parts for mine except I need a black font date wheel. The donor watch I have has red numerals. I may just build it for now so I can try it out.
  13. Nice find. Thanks. Now all someone needs to do is download all of them and package them up
  14. Beauty! Best of all it's on the mesh. Very nice!
  15. Sql.......I hate you Beauty pick up. Like the others suggested, I think the dial you have is best.
  16. If you are concerned about cross checking of user names and using common pictures do you also maintain different accounts at image hosting sites? PP too? Seems like you would have to in order to keep the two identities from being connected. Personally I don't worry about it too much but have considered it from time to time. Too late for me now since I have the same ID at both. I suppose I could always change one.
  17. That's funny. I just started one too. Race ya! Actually I have collected up most of the parts I need, donor watch with movement just arrived yesterday. Needs a good cleaning and oiling but runs well in spite of that. I think I need new end links for my bracelet though, the ones I have don't fit up well. Can't recall what number they are, probably the wrong ones. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

    New FA Jones

Nice! I've always liked the FA.
  19. Another vote for fix. You won`t be able to replace it for $55 and after the repair it will probably last you a good while. Worth it IMHO.
  20. Now that is a cool addition to the shop. Looking forward to seeing the results as you hone is your skills with the new tool.
  21. Actually having both now I find I like each of them but for different reasons. I know some of you don`t like the new bracelet but I find it to be quite exquisite. The attention to detail and the overall finish are outstanding. It is a different animal compared to the 7032 even though they share styling.
