  1. R, that is just plain cool! Back to low-tech...
  2. Clark has the acrylic "pearl dots", seems I remember the last I bought was around $12...
  3. Dizzy is right. You might be able to shave off a little bit - just depends on how much "meat" ya got to work with...
  4. Well, I couldn't see wasting a gen case, band, etc. on a rep dial! That would qualify the builder as somewhat "unbalanced"...
  5. Holy crap! You got a helluva lot more motivation than I, my friend. That is a butt-load of sanding! I don't think I would have touched it without running it through the mill! Actually, I had thought of pruning the CGs off one of my cheapo Subs but got rid of all of 'em before I had a chance.
  6. I call all of mine that are built with just a gen dial as Franken-Lites - if just a crown then it's just a modded rep. I feel a full Franken would have at least a gen case, crown, and dial. But, that's just me...
  7. My wife would love one, but I think probably the shipping to USA will scare me to death. If not too high it would make a great birthday present for the "boss".
  8. Very cool box, my wife would surely kill for one!
  9. I'm giving this one a well deserved workout this week - and it IS warm enough to ride the Beemer to work today!
  10. Some of the new Cartel vintage watches have gone to the same type crystal ring w/plastic spacer as the PT watch, thus my curiosity as to whether they were the same basic watch or not.
  11. Heh, leave it up to Tony to come up with some of the most interesting fantasy pieces!
  12. Y'all are about to force me into getting one of these - Lord knows I've made enough crystal retention rings for 'em! Is the general consensus this and the PT sourced model re the same watch? I know I've made crystal rings for both and the construction appears to be the same...a
  13. That's why I like working out in the middle of BFE in a manufacturing machine shop. I've never had anybody even notice what kind of watch I was wearing. I enjoy it 'cause I can get away with wearing whatever fantasy I want to cobble together and nobody notices/cares!
  14. My parts guy snagged me one and shipped it with my last parts order yesterday so I may be able to post a review in a couple of weeks. I asked him about the quality and he said it was "OK" but he was not impressed, figures it costs more than it should, and it has glass crystal... From what he can find out the watch is made in Hong Kong, he has no access to a wholesale source, and the seller is the only one offering it and is unwilling to negotiate on the pricing.
  15. "Badgers? Badgers? "We don't need no steenking badgers!!!" - UHF
  16. I'll throw in with the Vintage Crowd today:
  17. I would think it should lie flat...
