  1. Not much to discuss, really. If it is visibly damaged in the QC pics reject it and tell the AD to get another one...
  2. I recently had to order an M4x.35 tap for the 8mm tubes. Only one I could find had to come out of China...
  3. This is gonna look killer!
  4. Most of, well all I've tried, rep case-backs seem to have a .5 thread pitch. I'm sure that the mid-case could be re-tapped but not sure how secure the threads would be...
  5. I use a Dremel with a fairly large diameter stone. This seems to allow a better fit as far as the end-link contour to lug contour.
  6. The bevel is for a couple of reasons. If no bevel it's likely the bezel won't rotate properly as there would not be any clearance between bottom of bezel and top of mid-case. When a proper "bezel stack" (ring, bezel, spring washer) is used the bezel will only rotate (easily) when pushed down - if there is no bevel (or not enough) on the underside of the ring then you can't press the bezel down. Some rep rings (the old PT 1680 varieties come to mind) have an "undercut" instead of bevel but works the same way. Dbane - if you would put a bevel on the back of your rep ring it would likely work.
  7. I don't think it would look right with rotary engraving...
  8. Case solved! Ogladio's been stamping these things out in his basement! On the first example everything's obvious on the top half and only a hint (decreasingly) from there down/ Almost like the die was "cocked" on the first strike, missing the lower stuff, then the die was corrected and struck again...
  9. Has TRF banned you yet? You have committed a grievous sin over there... I personally would probably leave it alone and build a pure rep in a rep 34mm case. You can use the Yuki dial, rep case, and ETA movement to create something very credible and nobody is going to know what's inside but you. But, if that matters to you then I suppose if using the Yuki in your 1002 is what counts! You can always swap dials back out if you decide it needs to remain "pure" as the driven snow!
  10. Looks like a dressed up ETA but put up pic with rotor shifted to show balance wheel.
  11. Are you sure all this is coming from PP?
  12. Geeze, those bevels dang near get my [censored] hard and at my age that ain't no mean feat! I guess if we ever get a member by the name of [censored] he'll be $hit out of luck... >:-|
  13. Received the dial over the weekend and I have to say that the pics of these do not do them justice! I will be retiring my MBW dialed Explorer and this will go into a new build for my daily wear watch.
  14. That's what I have in mine...
  15. Love the Jubilee! Make sure you check the adjustment link screws before you give it to her, one looks like it's a little backed-out...
  16. My first attempt at modding a Sub and drilling lug holes. I figured it was time to bring it back to life to remind me of the "good ol' days" when everything seemed so much simpler...
  17. You didn't start a tundra fire, did you!!??
  18. Holy Crap! Whoop, now I understand your PM! I guess I'll need to retire my MBW dial.
  19. I don't want to run the risk of being accused of trying to sell in the Rolex forum so if interested PM me. This is mainly an informational post...
  20. Looks very close...maybe exact. - Thanks! When you start taking watches in for you service, what condition should they be ie: disassembled case only, a complete watch head?? - Prefer just mid-case. How does one contact you for service, PM or email? - PM is fine. What should the turn around time be? - Depends on how long it takes to find examples and work up a program and whether the engraving machine is tied up with something else. Should your customer research numbers ie: model and serial numbers? - If a good clear picture of what is wanted is provided it can speed things up. I prefer to let folks pick their own S/N. Is your pricing uniform or specific to each request? - Varies a little depending on how hard it is to get the old engraving/etching removed from case.
  21. If he is willing to swap in a new ETA movement and deal with the dial mounting and new hands (or broaching) for that price as said it's fair - as long as he knows what he's doing.
  22. This is a 90 degree tip. The seller said he might be able to get some 120 degree tips and if so the etch would be a little wider. I have asked to get some but the seller has sorta went silent...
