  1. Thanks, but that is 1 of the 1st things I tried (unsuccessfully).
  2. That looks like what I need, but unfortunately it is not installed. I will have to see if there is a version for BSD. Thank you.
  3. No, but I will give it a try. How is it used? Can you post a sample command line for a single IP address? Also, it may be a Linux command as I do not think it is installed on our BSD server.
  4. Thanks, but I am ahead of you. I finally got rid of them by rebooting the server and blocking them via the firewall, but I know there is a much simpler/quicker way to disconnect an IP (via tcpdrop or similar?) in real-time & without having to stop the network or reboot. Anyone?
  5. How do I disconnect foreign IP tcp connections on a BSD UNIX server? I know there is a command (tcpdrop or something like that???) that does this, but I cannot remember what it is or how to use it? Although they do not appear to have actually logged-in or gained access, I am seeing a great deal of unusual activity on a server that generally sees very little activity. A who or w shows I am the only person logged-in, but netstat reveals 2 foreign IPs that should not be there
  6. Thursday, still wearing the Sub
  7. Bart - nice work. I agree with Nanuq regarding the GMT hand. It also looks like an aftermarket crown, so I would consider swapping that for a gen. With a better GMT hand, a gen crown & a bit of artificial patination, using my usual benchmark (arm's distance viewing), it would be difficult to ID as anything but gen.
  8. I am less impressed with the fonts than you are, but, other than that, 2 beautiful Newmans.
  9. Wore my pre-Comex today
  10. Yes, but I have never seen a rep dial that got it right. Here is a gen dial for reference (bright light not required) -
  11. It sounds like you should track down a copy of the Daytona bible (Rolex Daytona: From Birth to the Myth).
  12. My rule of thumb when purchasing anything watch-related - ebay sellers with <200 watch-related sales &/or <99.6 seller rating is automatically passed. Buyer beware!
  13. What watch model is this for? In the meantime, with only a 90% seller rating, that is enough to make me run away - fast!
  14. Sorry, but I see no gap between the circumference of the dial & the inner case wall. Maybe, you are mistaking the edge of the dial where the paint has been worn away turning it a light gray as a gap -
  15. Still lugging 1 of my old Newmans around
  16. Rolex has never & would never release a watch with a gap like that.
  17. I have no experience with either part, but I believe the gen 5513 dial is 26.05mm, so the case opening may be too large.
  18. Before you waste too much time chasing ghosts, read this.
  19. Please do not re-quote an entire set of pics just to add a line or 2.
  20. The most difficult part, assuming you lack the tools, will be refitting the bezel. Depending on the construction of your particular rep watch, the bezel can usually be pried-off with a thin knife/blade. Sometimes, this can take some time if the bezel is tight or has been affixed with cement (cheap reps are often assembled this way). Just work the knife in a tiny bit in between the bottom of the bezel & top of the case. Move all the way around the case evenly &, eventually, the bezel will come lose & can be lifted off. Sometimes, it takes a few minutes, but, sometimes, it can take 30+ minutes. It all depends on the fit of your particular bezel/case. Once the bezel is off, the crystal, again, assuming it also was not cemented onto the case, should lift off (by hand) or can be gently nudged with the edge of the knife in the same fashion as the bezel (work slowly all the way around the crystal). To reinstall, simply reverse the procedure - install crystal, then bezel. It is best to have a good caseback press & set of nylon 'pucks' that fit the perimeter of the bezel & perimeter of the caseback to press the bezel back on. However, if you are careful, you may be able to refit the bezel using an appropriately-sized pair of socket wrench sockets (or something similar - any round, cylindrical object with a smooth face that fits will work) & a vice. Just be careful to press gently, slowly & keep the watch centered in the vice so the bezel presses on evenly. Otherwise, if it gets pressed on unevenly, you are likely to warp it, which adds alot of additional headaches. Also, it should be obvious, but just to be clear, the cylinder you use on the bezel side (to press it onto the case) must not come into contact with the crystal as this will crack/crush it. You can probably find youtube videos that show how to press a bezel on to give you an idea of the process & make it easier to find substitutes for the nylon 'pucks'.
  21. Still wearing my 3rd fav Newman
