  1. The sides of the dial fit around the edge of the 1030's plate. The inner diameter of the dial is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the pillar, so once the dial is pressed down over the pillar, friction holds it in place. Dial orientation must be done by eye. On dials without a date window, simply align the 3 o'clock index marker with the center of the stem when you press the dial on (this can be done by hand, but wear finger cots or latex gloves so you do not mark the dial) & everything should be properly aligned. Once you have done it a couple of times, you may find that this type of dial is actually easier to fit than a dial with feet & screws.
  2. Beautiful timepiece. Well done, Raymond. Really, well done.
  3. Congratulations on completing your degree. I hope it brings you much success.
  4. Ending the work week Kompressed (pardon the dust) in CHS clay (ceramic) & still keeping COSC time
  5. Nice OP & you need a new crown (the inner spring is likely shot).
  6. The dial is press-fit onto the pillar plate & does not use any fixing screws. Because of this, you cannot generally substitute ETA or other non-Rolex movements for the original Rolex movement. If you are building a franken, you have 2 choices - either use a gen movement (with a press-fit dial) or use a standard aftermarket dial (with a non-Rolex movement). This type of layout is typical with Rolex watches powered by 10xx movements. The 10xx's case screws fit into a groove that runs along the inner perimeter of the container
  7. I would check out the Watch Collectors section (specifically Joshua or Trustywatchguy).
  8. Ditto. However, rubber balls (& similar devices) can be useful because they allow a screw-on caseback to be r&r'd quickly & easily for testing purposes. But I cannot imagine any professional returning a (repaired) watch to a customer with the caseback 'tightened' with a rubber ball.
  9. To the original poster (OP) - click me & read.
  10. My vote always goes for the 'Show Us Ur Tits Party'.
  11. Your watch needs regulation &/or cleaning (the movements in rep watches are either used or unserviced & generally require general servicing upon delivery). The accuracy of mechanical watches is affected by both the environment & your watch wearing habits, which is why the watch's accuracy differs depending on whether it is worn or not.
  12. Might the delivery contain something matte, flat & with 2 feet?
  13. Super collection, Stephane.
  14. Whatever it is, I hope it still works when it arrives.
  15. Who, in their right mind, would leave a watch - especially, such a unique, limited edition watch - unattended in a public place. I am sorry, but he has only himself to blame.
  16. My daily beater
  17. It depends on which bracelet you have. The gens came with 7205/8 - 71 endlinks 7835 - 271 or 371 endlinks 78350 - 571 endlinks All of my vintage Daytonas are fitted with gen 7835s with 357 endlinks
  18. We would need to know something about YOUR rep before anyone can provide any useful recommendations. Which model is your rep? Is it modern or vintage? Is the crystal sapphire or Plexiglas? Does the dial have metal surrounding the index markers?
  19. Most major cities have their share of curb-side trinket sellers in the touristy areas, but I have never seen any Canal Street-style sections of DC when I was there. Though the city does have its merits
  20. You have alot of guts to go with the red dial, but your hard work shows.
  21. Good to hear things are moving along. I would not lose any sleep over the branding on the bridges. Only you & your watchmaker will ever see them.
