  1. I tackled Mt Baldy from my front door, it started out nice but in the 1 hour it took to reach the top it started sleeting. There was bear scat everywhere but we made it home in one piece.
  2. And true multi threading with process persistence. Translation: UNIX is a tool and Windows is a toy.
  3. Game, set, match. Beautiful piece.
  4. You'd love the fishing here. Those small lakes are loaded with fat Grayling. But the mosquitos will eat you alive!
  5. I don't know ... I bought it for my gen 1575 movement and it was a tight fit. I don't know what parts were used to retrofit your 2836-2 to add the GMT function? I bet Tonny can answer this.
  6. Yep! Mine looks like the base plate is BRIGHT BRASS color instead of a muted gold leaf. It's okay but it bugs me. One small suggestion... talk to Tonny about his small-arrow GMT hand. It's a beauty and priced the same as the Raffles small arrow.
  7. Bart, that's a good looking gilt effect. I like it better than my gen gilt 1675! Mine is far too bright and brassy. I found your little secret. Nicely done!
  8. dbane, is that tropical brown I see on your dial? I love it!
  9. The understatement du jour .... Freddy's pre-Comex is a work of art. For me, it's The Skankymariner today.
  10. And here in Alaska it's 9 months of winter and 3 of gnarly weather!
  11. Yeah we've always kinda gone by the rule of thumb... if it lies north of your country to 90N, then it's yours. That's being challenged but not seriously. That was a funny article talking about the perilous thinning and loss of old sea ice, then they segue to talking about how "cold" it is. Give me a break... 23C? Minus 25F with the windchill? We send kids out to recess here in Anchorage in those temps. Pfffffffft, that's not even remotely cold. I used to work up there doing neutron backscatter testing of the pipelines, outdoors all day. Coldest I saw with a windchill was off the printed charts so we had to estimate -165F. Now THAT is cold. It's another "Alaska" show making a buck off the intrepid city folks coming up here for a couple weeks.
  12. Not me brother! Still hanging around in the frigid wilderness.
  13. You'd have better chances at making par here.
  14. Sure Ezio, it's a gen with Yuki FF insert. I also had The Zigmeister lume the dial and hands.
  15. The Nastymariner lives!
  16. A couple years ago there was a Dark Lord dial sold here that looked almost exactly like that.
  17. Gents, I'm very proud of the time you're taking to guide our new member toward a repair on his watch. This is why this place ROCKS. Thank you!
