  1. Been there, with little to no feedback, few posts, but wanting to get my feet wet and buy a rep. I've also been the guy that's been around for a while with noobs wanting to buy a rep from me. It usually breaks down to choose your buyer rather than let the buyer choose you. Ask a few questions, get to know the guy before sending over the paypal address if your concerned. In the end paypal favors the buyer not the seller so this is the only chance you have as a seller, you have to do your due diligence now or cry about it later. Also, if I'm not certain I sometimes give MOAB a pm and check references.
  2. Looking good, if you need more wrists for your watches I'm good for either of the GMTs.
  3. How about a Daytona, nothing says classic Rolex like a white dial 16520
  4. I just turned in my iPhone 5 in to get a Galaxy S5. I was tired of the battery dying on me halfway thru the day. The battery was bad on the iPhone 4 and got even worse on the iPhone 5.
  5. The grade is on the label, '000'. This product looks like a synthetic steel wool which is important to use synthetic steel wool since steel rusts and you wouldn't want to leave any steel particles behind on your SS bracelet to rust. Steel wool is typically graded (in the US at least) from 0000 to 0 with 0000 being the finest/softest.
  6. On the noob that I had it was more that the printing was thin (and thus light rather than saturated). Also probably a bit of an optical illusion as in the brighter light there is more light reflecting from the white dial vs the thinly printed orange text.
  7. These (Deep Blue Alpha Marine) are outstanding watches, I have the black dial and I love the lume scheme. The dial and bezel are blue and the tritium tubes are orange.
  8. Is this an older version? There were issues with previous versions having bubbles inside the crystal itself. Not sure if that was the noob or another factory, maybe someone could chime in...
  9. Congrats on the toolset! Also, congrats on the courage to open the watch! Lastly, congrats on fouling up the keyless works! It is a simple repair however will require the further removal of the dial and hands to get to the other side of the movement. There are several tutorials out there and my favorite come from Cybee on the other RWG. Part 1: http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=4295 Part 2: http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=4315
  10. Welcome to the madhouse! What part of Texas? Houston here
  11. Go with the tool set from WatchBitz, decent quality and at a good price. There are better tools out there but not all together and not at that price. If there was one tool in that kit that I'd replace would be the case back opener, it works and on many types of case backs, but it slips easy and would prefer it if it had three contact points instead of three.
  12. Different shop, Offshore (WatchBitz) helped Trailboss (other rwg)) set his site up and shared a lot of his contacts.
  13. Check this thread out: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f72/how-do-seagull-hangzhou-compare-eta-depth-look-216945.html A serviced clone is thought to be comparable to a base model ETA, IMHO it would be silly to swap one clone out for another clone unless there was no way to get the first one up and working. In your case since you don't seem able to find a watch guy to work on it for you then it might be reasonable to get a new movement to swap out and tinker with the first. If you get it to work then you'll have two movements one could be sold. If I were in your shoes I'd tinker with the watch after you get your tools, and if you screw it up let it be a lesson on how deleicate movements are then get a second movement and drop it in and be done with it.
  14. I love being on this side of the international date line, will be able to start the wristies while I'm here!
  15. Looks great, I know that your happy to get that on your wrist!
  16. Thanks, we are spend time with family. Weather here is much better than the hot and humid Texas weather!
  17. On vacation in Australia, here is a wristie from our window
  18. That's not a movement issue, looks like with the GMT hand is slightly bent upwards or the minute hand is slightly bent downwards. This has caused them to get intertwined, easy 5 minute fix. I wouldn't send this back to the dealer to get it fixed. Any place that can open the caseback can fix this with out breaking a sweat. Biggest thing that I would reccomend for you to do is the back the movement so it doesn't continue to advance the minute hand and cause any strain on the hands or minute wheel.
  19. Well like you said, the z factory movements have been having a bad rep lately. Several guys have posted their horror stories about movements stopping breaking in their z factory reps. The general consensus is that rep factories get the movements that are quality rejects or just not up to the higher standards in order to be sold to the name brand watch companies. It would appear that even amung rep factories there is a pecking order and as z factory is the newest that they are getting the left overs the other rep factories don't want.
  20. Have you tried Clark's? Seller ID on eBay is nostalgia-2000
  21. Have you any dry rice? Could leave it in the package with the crown unscrewed, just be mindful that the crown is turned in a fashion to limit any dust getting in it. When you get back to land get the caseback opened up and give it a look to see if there is any moisture still inside.
