  1. The downward pressure would be more determined by the threads rather than finger tip pressure.
  2. Ok, it's gonna cost me but I'd like the contact info for the dealer. PM sent.....
  3. Thanks for the update, always good to hear the outcomes. Watch looks great! I have one and haven't thought to try it on an asso, will have to try it out.
  4. Looking good! Cuff links are a nice touch too!
  5. There used to be some on fleebay, I'm looking now but can't find a pvd movement.
  6. Looks good, nothing like your first build! I agree with Panermaniac, or get one of the pvd movements for your rose gold case!
  7. True, but it still sucks when the project screeches to a halt no matter the reason.
  8. Dang man, sorry to hear about that. I didn't notice in the pic you posted that you bought a twin lock tube or I would have mentioned something.
  9. Just depends how far into the rabbit hole you want to delve. Could dig the old material out and start building it how you want it to be, here is a link to WUS not about pearls but a tutorial about working with lume: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f6/watch-luminizing-tutorial-673983.html Here is a video of Cwazy reluming a dial: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NhM4jXmKO3U Like I said not a pearl but gives you an idea about working with lume, hope it helps!
  10. Some pearls are just a luminous compound and some have a cover, the cover on a gen Rolex would be a sapphire lens. The modders around the forum talk of using a clear 2 part epoxy mixed with the luminous material to make a pearl and then some of just the clear epoxy on top to mimic the lens. With the 2 part epoxy you have to ensure exact 1:1 mixing or else any un-reacted epoxy will turn yellow. Also the epoxy pearl cover is not very gen like. If you are looking for a pearl for an older metal insert rolex model get a TC vintage insert and pop the pearl out of it to use.his insert is not very gen like but still nice as a replacement but his pearl does have a nice cover to it, not sure that it's sapphire probably glass.
  11. Here's my father son wristie: Congrats E! Just wait until you can do father/son watch mods!
  12. Word of caution on using item not received, oldest trick in the book is to send a package with tracking that shows delivered. Then when buyer files dispute it turns into a he said/she said situation with no simple resolution. Besides as has been said, it's only been a week since he went no show, new rules with pp allow for up to 6 months for filling disputes so you've got time.
  13. Prices vary, depends where you are located, what the watch tech is going to do/replace. There are a few watch repair guys on the forum in different areas of the world, reach out to one of them and ask for a quote.
  14. Mark - dude that's kind of harsh. He's obviously excited about his experience at a gen AD. We've all been there done that, just didn't share the experience. Cut the guy some slack...
  15. Well it's the flashiness that they're after rather than the ability to quickly tell the time at a quick glance. You know, rich people's party tricks, "Look what my watch can do!" Either way it's a neat cool effect and thanks for sharing!
  16. The ultimate rep is one that you're happy with, confidant wearing and looks good on your wrist. If a rep doesn't meet these then why keep it?
  17. Enjoying this more than I thought I would!
  18. Thanks for the support guys, if this was AA we'd have to revoke you guys status as sponsors! I have some lume inbound from Trailboss over at the other rwg so I might give it a shot at reluming these hands, if it goes bad then I can always order some from TC.
  19. Setting the tube will be one thing, you've got the right bits. Are you going to freehand this or do you have a drill press? Might want to use a rat tail file to remove the remaining bit of the old tube that's still inside the old threads. Once the new tube is set your might find that it sits differently than the old tube and that your old stem is either too long or too short, we're hoping for just right but never know. I think that the crown threads will be a fit for the gen spec tube, I've read of guys putting gen crowns on BP tubes before. Can always try to fit it on the tube now so that you'll know before you start. Good luck and keep us posted!
  20. So I had sold off all of my rolex reps, even sold off my Rolex inspired Raven Deep. Then the other day I saw a BP Seadweller on the m2m for a fair price so I picked it up. I had been thinking of getting this when they came out last year but never did. First thing that I did was fit it with a TC 93160 bracelet that I had in the parts bin, don't know why but I had one just lying around. I can say that these are fairly good rep for the price. If I keep this I can say that I'll need to replace the crown/tube, which if I remember correctly would require a drill press. Of course there's also the dilemma, relume the hands or just buy a set from TC.... Hi, my name is jpz5142 and I'm an addict....
  21. Thanks, got this for such a good price just wanted to make sure it's the real deal.
  22. If I remember correctly the owners had serious legal pressure placed on them from Rolex to change the name. Don't remember if they ever caved in or if the owners were successful in retaining their name.
