Like the title.says, I'm in need of a person in the EU that can possibly help with triangle shipping to the US. I'm talking with a seller in Greece that can only sell/ship within the EU and since I live in the US this poses a snag. If you have any insight or might be willing to help let me know. Thanks

Buy a TC case set, throw a yuki 3135 in it amd call it a 16610. A 16800 is possible with the st case but unless you have a line on a 3035 movement you'd have to use a 2836 and a movement ring, rafflestimes #2. But then you couldn't use your gen dial (unless you clipped the dial feet) and hands (don't think they're even close to fitting an eta)...

For a 16800 you need a case meant for the 3035 movement not the 3135. The case on the 16800 is thicker than 16610 case. If you get a 16610 case, drill holes and put a 3135 in it your not building a 16800 your building a 16610 with lug holes... I have a compmete ST 3035 case set that I'm not using, if your interested pm me and I'll put up a sales ad so it's official.

It's like asking which car is better, Chevy Malibu or Chevy Impala, depends on your application. 2824 is meant for day and the 2836 is meant for day/date complications. Stem hight is a bit different but other than that both share many of the same parts and are of same quality. Rep makers would choose one over the other for this reason, for example Rolex sub reps (16610) look better with the 2824 because it puts stem height in the middle of the case vs the 2836. J12 and Noobs are two different makers, both are considered by some to be better quality than the cheap street market reps. Which of the two are better is a matter of personal preference, this is like asking which is better Lexus or Infinity. Either makers have their flaws on any particular model that they sell, choose your preferred maker and go with it. I prefer Noob, others prefer another. Calling the maker out by name is a way of the rep business trying to build brands and thus brand loyalty. No worries, it's all part of the learning process, Just don't ask who has the best sub....

Chad - welcome to the forum and to the madness that is reps! The basic differences between the movements is: 2813 - aka 21j - are considered good movements, will hold up for years of service. Are not considered to be serviceable, cheap enough to just buy a new movemnt if something goes wrong. About $20-30 Asian 28xx - aka a28xx - Chinese clones of the Swiss ETA movements that have the same number. Is serviceable, and consided to be about on part with the base ETA movements after they are serviced. If getting one of these movements and you wish to keep the watch for the long haul you should get it serviced as they usually come in various states of dry/dirty from the factory. Swiss ETA 28xx - the real deal, good quality swiss movement and of course serviceable. However, the reps we get are often listed as swiss movements but of late have been mostly Chinese clones that they are trying to pass off as swiss. Buyer beware, probably not swiss. Also, these movements that are modified to look like the Rolex movements are of course not even close and some reports state that they have more problems than the un-modified movement.

Ezio - sorry to hear. Same goes for gens as reps, until it's been tested shouldn't get it wet. The rubber gaskets need to be lubed/replaced regularly if your getting them wet. Sometimes gens will sit in the AD's case for quite some time before being sold. Just because we pay thousands of dollars for a Gen doesn't mean that we should forget that mother nature wrecks havoc on seals/gaskets. If it is just a little fogging inside the case open it as much as you can and put it in a jar of rice to get as much moisture out of it then send it off for a service, should be OK after that.

If it's a modern watch then as said relax, worse that happens is they loose it and have to replace it for you. The next worse that will happen is they charge you a shit load for a service and your cursing having to spend what would amount to a new watch just for a service.

Unless you have to have a Gen bracelet I'd get a tc. These are awesome bracelets, can get 2 for 99 and mix and match to get the best sel fit. Then put the 930 you just saved towards a yuki 3135, send it out for a full service with just a few Gen parts swapped in for an awesome movement. And you still have a few hundred left over to buy a Gen insert.
