  1. That is a movement tab , a screw goes through it and secures the movement in the watch. Don't wear or shake the watch any more as the screw could end up damaging the movement. If you find the screw when you open the watch it will be an easy fix . Good Luck!
  2. My Polar Explorer II, haven't touched it and loved it right from arrival.
  3. Double grey/pink SD on heavy crush canvas
  4. It is a Helium escape valve,on the gen it is used to reduce internal pressure in the watch when the watch is used for extended time in a helium rich high pressure environment.(decompression chamber) Gen Looks kind'a like your QC pic myulchi.
  5. Please be aware that reps with chrono buttons are very hard in general to waterproof as they are not constructed the same as gens. It can be done but it could be expensive and not all that reliable. JMHO
  6. Sorry about the bad steer (Sturhling) , I had hearts on the brain, not roses.

  11. Welcome to the forum! Nice watches and a beut bike! You are going to like it here but your wallet won't.
  12. There are rumors of a Black Bay rep sometime soonish , maybe.
  13. I was lucky enough to be able to take advantage of a strap offered by whoopy12. It is of the Isofrane type and very well made. The strap is fairly thick, very comfortable and is long enough to wear over a wet suit (if you are so inclined) The rubber compound used is very flexible and does not appear to be a dust magnet. The strap is completed with a fitted buckle , floating keeper and springbars. I think he has a few more available so give him a PM if you are interested. I recommend you do,he is a great guy to deal with! Here are a few shots on my double grey 1665 (I am a pathetic photographer) They don't do the strap justice (it is dark black in person)
  14. It doesn't sound like the dial came scratched from the TD. you have been staring at the dial since you got the watch and did not see a scratch or dust until your"watchsmith" worked on the second hand. Does this suggest a possible reason the dial is now scratched and dusty? I think it does. I'm sorry you are in this situation, but I surely would have got the initial problem solved before spending money on a gen strap . JMHO
  15. Welcome to the forum! Resistance is futile.
  16. Welcome to the forum! Plenty of info available here. Good luck with your future efforts!
  17. If it is anything like mine you can tighten the bezel by replacing the "O" ring under it that supplies friction for the bezel with a thicker one (worked for me)
  18. You can also use a vacuum with a nylon stocking over the nozzle (worked for me) Good luck!
  19. Good work! Great to hear it went back together successfully!
