If you like the watch and are only having a few reps then you could actually get into this hobby and buy the rep and when it goes wrong have it fitted with an ETA 7750. That would solve your problems and give you the watch that you desire. At the moment you're unhappily sitting on the rep fence. Maybe you'd be better off on a homage forum?

If you're worried about asking them to work on a rep, then say that someone has given you a gift and that you think it maybe a fake/copy/rep and ask if they'll work on it.

SSteel is EU based. If you're CONUS then there are watchsmiths in your side of the pond. However SSteel is great by all accounts.

If you only want to send a watch back for repair then find someone local. After having the watch for 2 years any trusted dealer (including Josh) won't be of any great help. The TD's are middle men who trade watches, they are not repair shops! Where are you located and maybe someone can suggest a watchsmith to you.

Terrible news. I see Cats has not been online for a while. I hope he is still with us and enjoying his remaining time with his son and family. It is humbling when someone makes a post such as his opening one. It puts everything in perspective - whilst we love watches here, they are so insignificant in the greater scheme of things.

Check the trusted dealers on here (TD's). If you can't see what you want on their websites then pick a few TD's and send them a photo of what you want and see if they can get it. If they say it's not available then it's not available. If you do find it on a site which is not a TD when you've been told it's not available as a rep then proceed with extreme caution as its most likely a scam and you'll lose your money if you try and buy it.

They all seem to have a big tell - the He escape valve is in the wrong position. They're okay for a cheap rep, as long as you look at it as a cheap rep, but I'd not look to build a high end Franken out of one.
