  4. Can't wait to see it. Always loved the simplistic dial on the Explorer. More time I spend here the more I appreciate vintage pieces, especially with no date and domed crystals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. Awesome. You are a great member and have been very gracious with your time and knowledge. Thank you for that. You also have a beautiful collection of time pieces. Thank you for being active here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Hello all, Thank you for being here and for having this great place. I have really enjoyed my short amount of time here and continue to learn new things each day. Purchased a new 8 watch winder on the bay from Ace Timer. Needed an upgrade from my 4 watch winder thanks to the forum and the "addiction". This winder has separate adjustments for setting each 2 watch motor and is super quiet. Very happy with the unit. Packaged very well, quick shipping and reasonably priced. The last slot if for a TC Sub that is being built...until I find a 1675 then something has got to go. Hey wait a minute I have a 5510 in the works too.... Oh, I guess I can use the 4 watch winder also, so I really have 5 more spots open . My wife will love that Here are some pictures:

  11. You got it back It looks outstanding. Matt is a genius. I hope you are able to enjoy this stunning piece, especially considering the amount of time, effort and $$$ that went into it. This is my grail of grail watches and I am continuing to research how to approach this build. I appreciate all the information and help you have given me and after seeing these pictures I think this trek will be worth the investment. That lume shot is inspirational. Cannot express how much I love this piece. Just gorgeous. Enjoy.
  12. Just got back from vacation and this was waiting for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Awesome collection Mike. I think I would have bought 2 of these had you not beat me to them. Which means I really like em. Anytime your ready to sell that project x big crown let me know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Big D, as hard as it is, try to be patient. Keep searching until you find exactly what you want. Any kind of compromise tends to lead to less satisfaction. Have more experience with the situation you are in with classic cars. Knew exactly what I wanted and was looking every day for that particular model. At times have had patience to wait it out for the "one" which lead to great enjoyment, other times compromised and bought something close--inevitably the one i really wanted shows up after buying something close and I am stuck trying to sell off the one that was close to get the one I really wanted. You know how that works take a loss trying to sell quick........Good luck on the hunt.
  15. Update on the 16613: Mymanmatt has saved this unit from being retired. Matt truly walks with the Rolex watchsmith Gods. He was able to find an insert to fit--with some modification, but it did snap in. Sourced a gen crown and tube and put it all together. I think it looks awesome. This was always one of my favorite Rolex models and the first gen Rolex I ever purchased back in 1987 for my 20th birthday. At the end of the day, I get to keep a real gold TT for less than the price of a plated new rep would have cost me. Hey and now it has one gen part on it
  16. Amazing. Like the platinum piece Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. these are great. Put the finishing touch on my gold DD. Thank you for sharing this.
  19. Big D, not sure on brand new but I found a gen box and papers from a YM purchase in 2008. I posted a thread about it a week or so ago. On vacation right now but I can email you some pics when I get home. My cardholder much different than that one.
  20. Too many meetings this week so had to be more formal so DD today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Now that is funny. A true lol. I am still cracking up. If u knew me in person u would know how OCD I am about these things. I got a couple custom croc straps and the med brown belt was just a shade off so had to find one that matches. Makes my wife crazy. I will show her your post and u will be her hero. She is always saying that. What a croc Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Rotate with attire and what I am doing at work/play. Formal, semi formal, casual. I like to match metals and colors with my clothes. So today gold Day Date on dark brown croc strap, dark brown croc belt with gold buckle and dark brown croc loafers. Tomorrow traveling so casual wear. Jeans, black polo shirt, black BK Sub C, black boat shoes, black belt silver buckle....Headed to Palm Spings to 85 degree weather, golf and cigars Still debating on what and how many watches to bring. You know life is good when that is the most difficult decision for the day.....what watches and what cigars to take to the desert. Oh and to Fraggles point. For the longest time only had one gen Rolex at a time so wore that most everyday. Had a bunch of lower priced gens, like Movado/Invicta/Hamilton....and a couple of reps, but when I went to grab one of those I usually went back to the gen Rolex or my old TT rep sub. I just really like Rolex's. When it got worn looking or when I got bored of it, I would buy a new one. I guess that is why I ended up here on the forum so I could have more models and a Rolex for every occasion. Most people who know me know I have gens and reps. They sometimes ask, is that one real or fake? Depends on what I am wearing most of the time my answer is a little of "both", it is a rep case with a gen.....which usually leads to some good conversations and is one of the things I really like about being part of this place--those discussions both with brothers here and with people who are not watch enthusiasts People who don't know me never ask and usually just say nice watch. If they did I would tell them the truth. Part of that could be that I am a big guy and present myself well. I earn a good living, nice house, high end car and clothes......blah blah. But the reality is that I have never been asked. Even with the old reps that were not that good.
  23. Fees are crazy on transfer to china. Although it was quick-within 24 hours. My "watch" bank is a small rural bank in my town. Just did a wire transfer to a TD on a cheap $309 piece and banks fees on my end $45 and on $20 on china side so paid $65 bucks in fees. While I am not a PayPal fan certainly a better and quicker deal. Guess that is why it is important to have good feedback and to establish relationships with the TD's. Or buy m2m which is what I usually do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
