  1. Thats exactly what i did to make mine fit.
  2. That makes sense. Good info. I just put a gen T-21 on my DW 6265 and the bezel went about 2/3 of the way down with finger pressure... then a little squeeze with the press, and i didnt have to force anything and its nice and tight. I never really thought about the angles, but i will have a look the next time i swap one. dizz
  3. One just sold on VRF for $2000 i think it was crazy
  4. I saw on TV that all replica ROlex have see through case backs... So this MUST be a fake? lol Awesome watch. I guess if i had that awesome 1655 i would want to see that movement beating in there also!
  5. Out of curiosity, what rolex is it? Submariner? It's definately not normal for that to happen except on the cheapest of reps
  6. What are you putting this crystal on? Are you building a custom job? I have a crystal for an Air-king date. I cant remember the part # but its about the same size. If i can find it then i will measure it for you.
  7. For $50 it should be a pretty accurate copy. If it was made out of tin foil or super cheap materials then it would be a $5 bracelet. I am interested to see how it looks. If someone came out with an accurate 9315 bracelet for ever $100, it would be HUGELY popular and they would sell millions of them, dizz
  8. The classic Noobmariner is always your best bet for a very accurate well priced sub rep.
  9. Puretime and Trusty are almost identical sites? I can assure you that they have nothing to do with each other. It seems like different sites have different variations of these new vintage subs and sea-dwellers, but Puretime seems to have the best ones. dizz
  10. Those CG's are severely overpolished.. the bottom one is half the size of the top one. It looks like a BAD replica CG job. Dial is butchered obviously... That watch isnt worth anywhere near the asking price IMHO.
  11. I would be happy with taking a 21j and freezing the center seconds and having no seconds hand at all... I've always wanted a daytona, but after my sec at 6 died after a few days, i really dont want to buy another one until a solution is found. How close is the v23 subdial spacing compared to the zenith sec at 9? I wish it was as easy as tossing in a V23 and getting a gen sec at 9 dial...
  12. HA HA the gen feels cheap too!! I love the 9315 bracelet and i am also very interested in seeing the pics. I want to order a couple of them. I have a stretched out gen 9315 on my comex, but it now has a MBW clasp on it until i find a reasonable deal on a gen fliplock for it. I would love to have a couple more. I would probably leave one as is, and put a 93150 clasp on the other.
  13. Sounds like you have a lot of confidence in yourself!!!! lol
  14. Its funny that this thread is 3 years old and we are STILL waiting for a freeking acceptable daytona replica... Rediculous
  15. Yikes!! That must be a pricey tube!! I know the 702 tubes are expensive but this one is much more rare. Fortunatly those of us who dont have access to such rare parts can get away with a modern Triplock, although this one is going to look GREAT once installed.
  16. Thats funny I never noticed the hour markers on that dial before but they are definatly off on that picture. Unfortunatly the watch has bigger problems. I was initially excited about this watch until i saw its the wrong case so i stopped investigating it. Its funny that its got the same case back as my correct 5514 from 5 years ago. If you want a comex then get the comex 1665 that Puretime has with the date window because the case is correct for that model. I'd avoid the 5514 for now until they correct all the flaws. You can swap out the dial, but when you have to swap out the case, you may as welll buy a different watch.
  17. The gen 5514 uses the same case as the 5513 except there is a helium valve installed. The 1665 case is much thicker and therefor incorrect.
  18. Nice comparison. Clasps are easy to adjust. My clasp on my DW bracelet was also loose but now it snaps firmly and feels smooth.. the DW endlinks are junk though. I had to take a lot of metal off with my dremel to get them to fit properly.
  19. the crystal on my 5514 actually has some gouges and scrapes and has been polished out a few times. After a few more polishes it should be good
  20. I would buy the asian copy and put the extra $80 into getting a local watchsmith to service it. Even if you actually get an ETA movement, it will probably be old and dryed out anyways.. or a referb.. or not an ETA at all... Doesnt always matter who the dealer is. Sometimes the factorys just send them whatever and they dont even know what they are getting.. .
  21. ha ha ha well i wasnt talking about one of YOUR super super gen frankens. To get an MBW, then add a gen crown, crystal, insert and vintagize the dial, add springbars etc etc, you would be $900 to $1000. But yes if you want a add a gen dial and gen movement and gen bracelet like how you build them, then they get REALLY pricey!!
  22. All of the DSSD that i have seen all have a real valve. Most modders use epoxy on the inside of the case to seal it all up just in case. You may be thinking of the old 1665 sea-dwellers from MBW that had the fake valve etched on the outside of the case, or a very cheap canal street version of the DSSD. dizz
  23. Well if you deceide to sell it PM me. I love how this one looks on the folded bracelet.
  24. Yeah your gen looks almost as pointy as mine. Thats really cool. I also like how your crystal is worn down and appears thinner ( from the 6'oclock angle). That watch was definately worn everyday for 30+ years! I love it! How much you want for the ugly looking one with the brown dial and worn out case? ha ha ha! How long have you had that gen double red? How did you aquire it? I smell a good story here...
